Shocking news sweeps the Van the Hero and his party have defeated the demon lord, bringing the long-fought war to a close with humankind as the victors! However, this information has yet to reach Zoltan, which is dyed in all the colors of fall as people hurry to get ready for the approaching harvest festival. Red and Rit make preparations to open a stall, while Habotan and Ruti seem to want to do the same, and joy fills their long, autumn nights as they work hard to get ready for the festival!
Volume 13 is very much a cosy quiet slice-of-life before the (final) storm. The Harvest Festival is quickly approaching and the gang decide to run stalls, interspersed with a bit of romance and the simple problems of Zoltan. We as a reader also see the storm approaching when for a handful of pages we switch to certain characters approaching Zoltan. I really enjoyed it. Not much progress (if any) in the overall plot, but I like cosy slice-of-life, and considering the cover art of v14 the end of the series is approaching quickly, so I don't begrudge the author letting us enjoy the scenery a bit on this trip. Still, if you want action and/or plot progress this volume might be a bit light.
