That was my very very long thankyou. ANYWAYS, onto my review:
I just finished reading this book (thank you thank you thank you for the free copy btw :) ) and i honestly really really liked it. The first 3 stories were powerful and actually taught me a lot and gave me an insight as to what people go through when something so shocking and traumatic happens to them and how they deal with it. The first story for me was kind of foreign to me i guess - how can i explain it? - it kind of delved straight into the climax of the story which was something i'm not really used to but it conveyed how quickly one's world can fall apart when something unexpected and bad happens. The ending of that story was also powerful and concluded it very well. I really loved "those four letter words" and the preface just got me striaght away; the humourous edge was entertaining and the story itself was amazing and was perfectly filled with the right amount of drama, tension, and emotion. Although "Dealing with it too" was quite short, it kept me on my toes and compelled me to read it from the start. It really expressed the emotional and mental damage, and trauma experienced by someone after such a bad, terrifying experience. The last 2 stories though got to me in a strange, surprising way. I mean, i haven't really read a proper fantasy/supernatural story and honestly, those 2 stories really got me interested in those particular genres. (view spoiler) however, it is still quite different and unique and i really admire the way Christina Channelle has come up with those ideas of the whole "lamia" and "lapsus" thing. Honestly, I now really want to read the rest of the blood crave series. This story expresses the heartbreak one experiences after a loved one abandons you and i really liked the "anchor" concept. Reap was also very interesting and was something different for me. I really enjoyed reading it and the sense of mystery throughout the story really compelled me to continue reading it. I really wanted to know Mia's story and what had happened to her. The endings of the stories were quite different than what i expected would happen but not in a disappointing way. the endings were surprising i guess but ended in a way that made me want to shout "NOOOOO WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!!??? I NEED TO KNOW NOW!!" I really enjoyed "Dealing with it and other stories". It was something different for me and i'm definitely going to read Christina Channelle's other novels; i love the way she writes!! :) Thank you again Christina for sending me a copy of this book i really really appreciate it so so much and i really enjoyed reading it :)
