Unhappy cat Carlo, tired of his filthy living conditions in Mark's bedroom, takes up residence in the spotless house acorss the street, but he soons learns the price of neatness - after one too many baths - and learns a valuable lesson in compromise and friendship!
A good book to talk about how keeping areas clean can help everybody live together. Even though it is a cat that has trouble living in a dirty room, it can affect anybody. This would be a good book to introduce on the first couple of days when you are talking about routines to help the chidlren understand how important it is to keep their area and your room clean so we can all live happily together in our classroom.
The cat runs away because the kid's room is too messy. Sure he does. He loves that little Mark cleans! Uh-huh. Pretty sure this book was written by someone who never had a cat. But I suppose as a book with didactic intent goes it is harmless enough. Certainly not as freaky as that one where the girl is so dirty that things grow out of her.
