This lovely picture book is based on a real cat from Dorchester.

Susie is a cat that keeps turning up in various places in Dorchester Town. But her owner is not worried at all, insisting each time that her cat is 'not lost'.

This story reminds me of Six-Dinner Sid, but instead of going through the houses on the same street, our protagonist visits various establishments you'd find in a typical English town centre. The illustrations are gorgeous, with a great level of detail. What I also like about this book is the cat tips given at the end.

If you are a cat-lover and want to read even more books starring cats, you can check out The Travelling Cat Chronicles. Young adults can check out The Cats We Meet Along the Way.

This is a lovely real life story about an adventurous cat who explores her town and makes friends wherever she goes. It’s beautifully illustrated and a really sweet narrative.
