Well-written, informative, profound in places, entertaining, and full of great stories. I truly enjoyed each page of this book. I have family from Manitowoc, so seeing some of the old names and reading about the early families is great, but anyone interested in the Civil War and the home front during this time would enjoy the book. Worth every minute you spend with it.
