In Doing the Unthinkable 2 Yahira has some secrets and Romeo knows. Whenever the mood strikes, he uses those secrets to his advantage. Will loves Yahira, and can’t see her secrets, because he’s too busy concealing secrets of his own. Everybody has dirt on their hands, and the question soon becomes how far will they go to keep their deceptiveness buried?
‘I hated myself, right then. Because I had become everything I hated about people. I was a habitual liar, and a manipulator. I twisted things to my own benefit. I deflected. I kept secrets, and I had no real plans of being honest any time soon.’
Not a single lie told and please allow me to add conniving and sneaky to Yaya's list of atrocities for a lil’ razzle dazzle. Yaya was a despicable azz individual. She told so many damn lies, she didn’t know how to tell the truth anymore. Romeo deserved an Academy Award because, he played his role as the bitter side piece to perfection. He definitely forgot his place in this love triangle. And, poor Will. Now, don’t get me wrong. He was no angel and he was wrong as two left shoes for everything he did but, Will deserved better. Towards the end, my heart just broke for him. It should’ve been on site every time his sister saw Yaya’s triflin’ azz. What really pisses me off is, after all the shyt she pulled, she didn’t get the ending she deserved. That heffa practically got off unscathed and that ain’t sittin’ right in my spirit. May she and Romeo have the horrible life they truly deserve. There are a lot of moving pieces in this book so, I can’t really give a detailed review without spoiling the story. Just know the lies, the betrayal, the hypocrisy, and the lack of accountability from these characters are gon’ have you ready to molly whop everybody.
And another one! This book was everything it needed to be. Not only was the story entertaining, it was VERY realistic. Drama everywhere! Onto Liah’s story!
Bravo! 5 stars! This was excellent from the first page to the last. It was well-written, filled with tons of drama and secrets. I ended up really liking Romeo. He could've been really unhinged but he wasn't. And I did feel sorry for Will...and Yahira's storyline was crazy. But it was so believable. I thoroughly enjoyed his series and I like Nicole's style of writing.
This was written so well I wanted to remove stars because I utterly despised a character and maybe in retrospect I depose some parts of myself. At least 20 year old me, I was an NBA mvp with the games I used to play prior to being married. I was sneaky and manipulative and only got caught when I wanted to. A part of me could still take it there but god blessed me with a great husband😂. You did your thing Nicole with exposing hypocrisy and accountability and creating a less than curated life. Though you’ve touched on infidelity prior it didn’t evolve as much as this story and I think everyone should read and reflect prior to playing holier than thou. One can never say what they’ll do in that moment.
Sooo, I don’t usually write a review for the many books that read but this one right here is fire. I love the twist and turns. Even though I enjoyed this book at the end I found myself wanting more. I was always team Romeo but at the end of the first book I can say that I started to sway little towards Will. Yaya was wrong on so many levels and I thought that she honestly wouldn’t make it by the end of the book. I thought that Karma would catch up to her. I think she knew all along who her babies were for. Kudos to the author for keeping me so hooked on the story that I didn’t get any sleep last night because I couldn’t put this book down. It’s definitely one of my favorites. Loved Loved Loved it
This was a really good read because it had me on pins and needles the whole time. Do I agree with how everything played out? No. Yaya could've saved all the drama when she got pregnant the first time and got a DNA test for Yuri so that her and Will didn't have to go through the extra drama. I like the way Romeo owned up to his fault in everything because he knew what part he played. Tamia is just dumb and needs to move on. I was surprised with Jess, but what could you expect for someone who's hurt. Overall, I enjoyed this read and hope this was a lesson learned to some people about playing with people emotions.
I don’t think I’ve ever been happier to get to the end of story so all of the skeletons could finally be out of the closet! This story was messy but it was good and I’m glad that Yaya got her HEA even though she and Romeo left a messy trail to get there.
I wanted to fight Jess and punch Tamia. Will, I guess I can live with his fate being served to him because he was hurt too so overall I’m glad it’s over and we can all move on! Read it; it’s a juicy roller coaster ride, steamy sex scenes and lots of BDE!
Aight, so at first I was team both, and Yaya got on my nerves, but part 2 really put it in a better perspective for me. Yaya was young and didn't really get to live, so when she got a taste of that life, it was addictive. Will was slightly justified, but I'm glad it kinda worked out. I'm happy with the ending.
Wow! This was one messy toxic series! Two men/one woman & a boatload of secrets, lies, and betrayal. In true fashion it’s been proven, men cannot accept the same hurt that they dish out. Especially when that hurt, pushes their woman into the arms of another man. Unfortunately for Will, Romeo turned out to be the better man for Yahira.
This book was a page turner. Yaya, Will, and Romeo were about as trifling as they come and I was hooked on it all. My only reason for giving the series 4 stars is because I didn't feel as though Will's story was thorough enough. I wish the author had taken the time to provide a deeper dive into his indiscretion instead of focusing solely on Yaya.
I think Ms Jackson should explore MFM poly relationship in her next book and, stop playing in our faces ATP😒 The wildest part of this book was the lying and deception on both Yaya and Will’s part.
This book answered all the questions I had. I absolutely think she should've ended up with Romeo. Everyone was young, making young decisions. By the end of the book you can tell both Yaya and Romeo grew up.
The DNA nightmare was the beginning to a end. I knew Will had been playing dirty, Romeo was taking care of the business that he knew was his to do. Very good read and Yahira needed to live her life.
What in the Kirk, Rasheeda & Jasmine; Mimi, Joseline & Stevie J; Tara, Amina & Peter was going in this book & the last one??!!! I’m not gone say nothing but if you like the drama of reality tv like love & hiphop then you’ll love this. Cause this book is exactly like that minus the hiphop/music.
Am I the only one who was hoping Yaya died?😬 that's kinda fucked up, huh? I think the book would've been so much better. What she did was truly fucked up but very realistic. There are women out there that do that shit. She deserved them bullets, though [I feel so bad for saying that]. Will told her in chapter 1 in a few sentences how he'd respond in that situation 🤷🏽♀️ but noo she wanted to play with fire anyway. Will's cheating started this whole thing though so it is what it is🤷🏽♀️ Anyways, another great read by Nicole Jackson😁
You see I didn't mention Romeo, right? 👀👀 I didn't too much care for him. I don't know what it was that turned me off about him cuz at first I was all for Yaya getting her lick back. However, Romeo started to move like a bitter side piece and being petty once he realized she was going back to Will. He couldn't be a man about the whole thing knowing that girl was deeply in love with her high school sweetheart. I just didn't like him, and from the way I read it, Yaya probably wouldn't have made her way back to him if Will didn't knock up Tamia. I felt like Yaya had more lust than love for him, and it was like that until she had no choice but to leave Will.
Yaya was a very conniving and manipulative woman and that shit worked wonders on Will🤣🤣 or he maybe he was too in love.
Now Tamia... she's stupid. Plain and simple. I couldn't understand her mindset. She was very delusional because Will showed and told her it was always Yaya. So she took matters into her own hands and trapped him. But hey, it is what it is. That's what he gets for cheating 🤷🏽♀️. Dang, she may still get her man though.... just 15 years after the fact😬
This book was loooonnnng and drawn out with all the sex and back and forth between all 3 main characters. Nonetheless, it was entertaining and not like anything I’ve read before. After reading both books and all of the reviews, I honestly feel like none of this wouldn’t have happened if Will hadn’t stepped out first 🤷🏾♀️ Yaya was loyal and sticking by his side until he started moving differently. See, it’s ok when men do their dirt but when we do it it’s a problem and I don’t like that. The only thing I didn’t like was how Yaya was ok with not knowing the paternity of the babies and was okay having Will raise them thinking they were his. That’s shady. At one point Yuri was calling both men daddy. Yaya was out there bad but again all of that was because of Will having a physical and emotional relationship with Tamia. Speaking of her…she is one silly broad because who wouldn’t be visiting the penitentiary with my daughter while that ninja telling me to move on because he didn’t want her. Bree was foul for exposing Yaya and Romeo in the way that she did but also besides her simply not being a good match for Romeo in general, she didn’t deserve to be lead on by Romeo. Overall, another good book for sure!!!!!!
as a read: HELL YEA! Clearly, I have no clue what I'm doing because the story I envisioned vs the story she gave- miles apart!
I was completely grateful for that!
This series as a whole was amazingly written. Five stars for both-
This book specifically, wordlessly amazing.
I was literally at the edge of my seat because the character development/storylines/closing- all amazing.
Nicole does messy amazing but more importantly- she writes amazing.
Again, she writes characters that make morally gray decisions with questionable actions in such a way that you are torn between LOVE and HATE for them.
That is not easily done and she does it so flawlessly.
Wow, this book was one for the gram. Can you imagine being blinded by love? that you can love someone so much that you can’t see their flaws when they’re lying to you or the infidelities. I feel bad for Will because Yaya really did that man wrong however they both was cheating and this is why I need more from Mr. Jackson a great author because Will deserves a life after all this story
Now I have read some wild, messy Nicole Jackson books, but this one has taken the cake! Whew I loved every bit of this madness. I was rooting for Yaya so hard, but sis wasn't making it easy. This story was wrapped up absolutely perfectly but I can't lie, I still want more. Perfection
Yaya was a toxic, down to earth, fine ass mess. How did she manage to string along 2 handsome men and one was a baller? I guess she had that good- good. Anyway, this was a really interesting story and I couldn’t put it down. It was worth the wait. Nicole is simply gifted.
This book had me rooting for different characters at different points and questioning my morals. After the first book, I didn’t see things turning out the way they did but I was good with it. I think both Will and Yahira were immature and Romeo was a little older and much more mature than they were. In the end his maturity prevailed. Will is a lost cause..
This book was mediocre for me not one of Nicole’s better books earlier books had more of an edge for me. It was just so so like all the books are the same rich boys, dope boys go legal fine girls the best looking girls happily ever after different characters but the same story that’s what I’m trying to say…..
It took both books for the story to really give me that 5 star read. There were no clean hands in this love triangle. I felt sadness for each of them at one point or another in the story, but mostly, I felt that anguish at the end. This story definitely kept me engaged and vested because whew hunny, the drama of it all...
I didn't like that Yahira put all of them in that position. If she would've been honest from the beginning maybe things could've ended differently. I like that Romeo was really in love with Yaya but finally let her she what she really needed that to be with him.
