After removing herself successfully from the Atlanta law firm, Hanna finds herself doing legal work for the wife of a drug runner. Alex is going after members of a drug cartel out of Mexico that seems to be flooding South Carolina with fentanyl. Several fentanyl overdoses have struck Charleston teens.
This book has two separate plot lines. The second is the story of Hanna's ancestor, a bootlegger named Mathew Coulter. He became very wealthy during prohibition.
Both plots are intriguing and finally merge at the end of the book.

Another hit
Hard to put this one down. Fast moving. Enjoyed the twist. Enjoyed learning of the past lives of the Coulter's. Looking forward to reading another series. Can't wait for book 11 to come out. Great read and series.

May 18, 2026Another great read. I love the way Michael Lindley goes back in time with various chapters. It makes it very mysterious. A book you can hardly put down. Can’t wait for the next book.
