“When I signed this certificate sealing my temporary stay with you, God knew I would love you for life, Ky.”
FBI agent Maverick Shaw has devoted the last 6 years of his life to an undercover operation that he is finally on the brink of closing. He finally has his hooks in the big fish and is ready to chop off the head. What was intended to be an easy arrest leads to him being placed in witness protection with his infant son.
Agent Shaw had difficulty coming to grips with how a solid case could turn wrong in the blink of an eye and despite being placed somewhere safe, he’s determined to get his life back by any means necessary and it starts and ends with finishing what he started.
Kylo Harper is a free spirit that marches to the beat of her own drum. A husband and a kid aren’t even on her bingo card so how she ended up marking both boxes is beyond her after she’s roped into an arrangement orchestrated by her father. Even though she had no plans of having her own family, it didn’t take long for the Shaw men to steal her heart!
This was such a unique take on an arranged marriage trope and I really enjoyed how everything came together. The beginning middle and end definitely had me on the edge of my seat and I enjoyed the twists and turns the plot took. While it wasn’t totally predictable, a thinking person could definitely connect the dots in the story. With that being said, I was still entertained and the story held my attention until the very end.
I’ve read a few books in Morgan’s catalog and so far she’s pretty consistent with what she delivers. I look forward to what’s next from her.
Damn, this read started out hot, and the temperature slowly increased throughout. I wondered how a seasoned FBI agent who had successfully infiltrated one of the biggest drug families for so many years, got caught up like that. Hmmmm…. Now agent Shaw must go into “witness protection” to hide out with his son, until he can find those out to get him. He is placed with the daughter of an agent in a neighboring town, to blend in like a family. Agent Keon Harper was suspect from the beginning but had no idea he was the damn devil! Ughh…. 🤬
Kylo was a wild child, a free spirit, with a ratchet mouth who loved her freedom. Agreeing to house this strange man and his one-year-old was the last thing she wanted to do, but she agreed to help Keon with this one. The chemistry between Teddy and Kylo was electric from the moment they met, but neither wanted to show their hand, so they traded insults instead. As they got to know each other and lean into their “fake marriage” Keon was lurking, giving Teddy more ammunition that he was a snake!
The story quickly ramped up when the drug family found out Teddy’s whereabouts and came knocking. The people that were involved, the secrets, deception, and shady deals that were made was shocking. Throughout all the chaos Kylo leaned into motherhood and caring for Caden and fell from Teddy without even realizing it. I loved these two together, although they were a hot mess!
I did have a few lingering thoughts after I finished. What was up with Eve? Why was she so hands off with her daughters, and allowed Keon to just bully them the way he did? How did no one realize Vic was crazy? Who was Nas? She appeared out of nowhere and did her thing with helping Teddy, just curious as to who she really was. What happened with Nico and the trial? Did they find Tomas? Was Agent Daniels involved in any of this? Really enjoyed this read, but I hoped for a bit more.
I love the arrange marriage trope so this was right up my alley. The twist with the so called friend took me by surprise. I really enjoyed reading this book. This book is my first read by this author and I enjoyed it. Teddy was not playing around at all about his wife.
Overall this was solid writing and a good read. But I wasn’t feeling the MMC. From the beginning of the story he was presented as a reckless agent, which is part of why he needed to move. His first encounter with the FMC, he was disrespectful and intrusive. He basically forced his child on her and diminished her career in one breath.
I think his forcing his child on her and doing some of the same controlling behaviors as her father, really turned me off him. Speaking of the FMC, she was too gullible. I get Keon was a narcissist. But Sis, how couldn’t you see he was a bad agent?
The two of them had cute moments- but I hated the way he forced himself and child on her. But the stalker and left over storyline with Nico and Tomas was good.
Overall solid series and I can’t wait to read more from this author. I still want Logan and Zach’s full story.
(3.5) This was a good read. I always eat up an arranged marriage/marriage of convenience/fake marriage story but especially when the MMC is like AINT NOTHIN FAKE OVER HERE, WIFE!🤣Despite their rough beginning with the traded insults (which was really just desire with nowhere to go😅), I enjoyed them as a couple from Day 1. Now, Teddy was a lil arrogant dismissive somebody at first but he definitely grew on me over time. And I loved him and Kylo together. He was a protector for sure & she settled into her role as a wife and mom beautifully.
There were a lot of moving pieces in this story, and a not so surprising (if you paid attention) twist towards the end. I did have some confusion because some of the characters came from outta nowhere (Nic, Tomas, Elisa) and I didn’t quite have any resolution regarding Kylo’s mom. Sis just kinda disappeared. Plus I feel like the storylines with the villains were incomplete. Did they get sentenced? Pretty sure someone shoulda got murdered in jail.
I liked the concept of the story. It was different and some parts were funny , while others were a little cheesy.
Overall it had good bones, the characters were funny and enjoyable. The downside for me was that , I felt like some scenes were too predictable and the lines the used were overly cheesy but still I liked the book
This book had me sat from the moment Teddy met Kylo and he was delusional…and I like that. He wasn’t playing that fake ish when he came across her. Kylo tried to play hard to get but she really loved Caden and Teddy shortly after them coming into her life.
"My Missing Piece" is the perfect concoction of drama, suspense, and a dash of romance. Picture this: Maverick, our sexy undercover agent bae suddenly finds himself in need of a wife thanks to an unexpected twist called the witness protection program.
Enter Kylo, a woman who is as unsuspecting as she is authentic, making for the delightful other half Maverick never thought he needed. Together, they form a partnership that is equal parts tender and tumultuous, keeping us on a rollercoaster ride of emotions.
The chemistry between Maverick and Kylo is simply irresistible. It's sweet, but not in a 'Hallmark movie' sugary way. More like, you stumble upon a slice of the best cake ever when you weren't even looking for dessert. Their love story blooms amidst the chaos, proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that falling in love often happens when you least expect it.
What really sets "My Missing Piece" apart is its ability to blend suspense with genuine human connection. Enemies may pop up like unwelcome party guests, but the essence of the story is its authenticity.
The writing is sharp, witty, and seamless. The seamless storytelling will keep pages turning. All the suspense mingles with bouts of laughter and unwavering romance, showcasing a lively interplay that entertains while keeping you on the edge of your seat.
In essence, "My Missing Piece" is a masterful blend of action, romance, and humor that hits all the right notes. So, if you're up for a wild ride where love sneaks in through the back door when you're not even looking, this five-star read is your ticket to laugh, gasp, and maybe even swoon a little. Cheers to surprise romances and undercover escapades!
Kylo you went through A LOT. You were strong, you were incredible, and you were a beautiful spirit. Now despite how you and Teddy ended up together, watching y’all story unfold was truly beautiful. No matter how much you fought y’all situation, Teddy wasn’t coming up off of you and I LOVED that for you. Not to mention Caden wasn’t either, that baby said you was his momma and couldn’t no one say otherwise.
Watching how your father put you in a situation and then friend to break you WHEW! I’m glad you chose you and your little family, because in the end that‘s who showed up and showed out for you. We watched you grow up a whole lot this go round Kylo and it was great to see. Baby the L’s you took sucked but I’m so happy love and togetherness prevailed. Teddy, thank you for loving Kylo enough for both of you until she came to her senses. Vic you were truly a sick phuck and I’m glad you got what you deserved. Keon, not you walking around all high and mighty only to be a lying dirty sneak. Eve, it was crazy to see you grow a back bone at the end vs when your children needed you. That’s some wild stuff.
Thank God Kylo had Teddy. They were truly what each other needed and didn’t even know it. Great story Morgan. Thank you for giving Ky her voice.
🧩 Enemies to Lovers 🧩Single Daddy 🧩Marriage of Convenience
**First things first, if you have not read Traumatized by a Scorpio or My Only Fan, I HIGHLY SUGGEST that you start there. **
Kylo is the sister to Laiyah (my only fan) and we were introduced to her and her “husband” Teddy in previous books. Kylos father FBI Agent Keon Harper arranges an unorthodox marriage between Kylo and Teddy who just so happens to be in witness protection. However, Teddy is a single father so Kylo just isn’t an instant wife. She’s also an instant mommy to an infant 😳. Easy right, not so much when not 1 but 2 kingpins are after your husband.
Kylo and Teddy got off to a rough start and I didn’t think these 2 was gone pull off a fake marriage cause baby…they couldn’t stand each other. But from the minute that man entered her front door 2 things were true..1: That was his wife, 2: He didn’t play about her.
Teddy said you can do anything but okay with my wife and my son. And whew. We love a protective king. Kylo daddy still ain’t shit.
I don’t like teddy leaving Caden with kylo and basically forcing her to watch him while she worked as if she’s not working as well. He would also belittle her job by saying it’s little or that his job at a pizza place was more important… I would get it if Caden was actually hers it would be ok leaving him but Caden isn’t hers regardless of having to make it look real. Behind close doors he needs to take care of him and bring him with him more. The same way he feels like kylo can bring him while she’s working is the same way teddy which is his actual dad can do the same. It’s like he’s forcing her to be a babysitter. I didn’t like the dad at all. Overall I still enjoyed the book. 4⭐️ The author might as well not even mention teddy feeling guilty over having feelings for kylo since that’s the only time it happened/was mentioned.
Maverick and Kylo most certainly became one another missing pieces both needed second chance at happiness and love 😘
And all the snakes got handled kinda figured there dad wasn't on the up and up he was criminal himself 😠 the way he spoke to his daughters and mom never spoke up I don't understand why she just watched....
Both sisters found what dad tried to take from them they found stand up men ... Heff and Zack stood by Teddy side the hole time...
Vic was sick and crazy how you be in love with someone who never even knew you existed because you stayed in the back ground sick he was going to force her to be with you... So he was hoping to hurt Kylo unborn babies crazy...
I recommend this author book 📚 was amazing from the beginning to the end
So much to say about this book I loved it Teddy has earned spot # 4 as my book husband and Kylo is my girl I thought Laya was trouble but Kylo takes the cake 😂😂😂😂 she stayed testing Teddy and each and everytime he let her know what it was I love how he protected her and how she protected Caden Keon showed his whole sss 😤 I don’t feel prisión was enough for him but ms Morgan u have definitely earned your spot as one of my favorite authors if u write it I’m a read it and I can’t wait for Zach and Logan story because ik there is definitely a lot to unpack with them 10/10
I loved Teddy so much! He was charming and funny a great dad and a true protector of his family. Kylo was my girl she was fiesty and gave Teddy a run for his money. They were truly what the other had been missing 🫶🏾
I loved how Kylo took to Caden and how he took to her. I loved how she and Teddy fell in love so untraditional but yet so beautiful. I knew something was up with Vic but I just assumed it was a crush but nah that man had a weird obsession with my girl.
I think this is my first read from this author. I now have her catalog and I’m ready to dive in 🔥🖊️📚👏🏾
Wow and I thought Laya and Hef’s story was a rollercoaster—Ky and Teddy took the cake. How in the world did Keon get his family so caught up in this mess. Poor Ky was surrounded by conniving men using her for their own benefit. Luckily, she had Teddy and Caden to keep her sane. I’m def happy she and Laya made up too because their parents needed prayer—well Keon needed what he got and Eve needed to stand up for her girls. I knew something wasn’t right with Vic though, so none of his actions shocked me.
4.5⭐️ Undercover & a fake marriage, oh this was a time. Teddy had his hands full with Kylo, her feisty self! This story picks up after My Only Fan & to see how everything played out and what led to Keon’s demise was mind blowing but the other plot twist, I didn’t see coming… I simply thought ol' boy just silently removed himself! Kylo didn’t know that Teddy would end up being just what she needed & the same for Teddy. They truly were one another’s missing piece! The banter between them was hilarious!!
Teddy and Kylo had a rollercoaster ride to their happily ever after. Their beginning was unorthodox and they endured some trials, but their love for each other grew over time. I enjoyed their story and getting a conclusion with events that happened in Kylo’s sister’s story, My Only Fan.
Lil Caden stole, the show. The way he attached himself to Ky was so cute. I don’t normally enjoy law enforcement as love interests but Teddy overcame that pet peeve for me. His taking up for Ky and setting the tone immediately was so attractive!
There was a lot going on in this book but it kept me entertained. I believe Tomas is still on the run. Gnats the only thing I was a little confused on. Nobody saw Vic coming until it was too late
I love everything about this book…. Theodore and Kylo did not disappoint. He knew what he wanted and went after it.. He protected her like a true living and devoted husband…
Teddy muthfucking Shaw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved this book!!!! I’m glad her dad got what he deserved. I wonder what happened to her mom!!!! None the less . This book was amazing !!!!
I loved this really bad! I loved me some Ky even more! And i swear I called that plot twist of the stocker. I just kneeew ctfu 5 stars Ms. Morgan! ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️ We are getting Zach and Lo's story next, right? Lol
I absolutely loved it. I loved how the author put a different spin of things with this characters. This was a rough pair to put together but babe Terry had her all the way together. That BDE alpha male came in strong. 10/10 😘😘😘😘
Teddy was not playing about his family. This man is what a husband and father is about. This was such a good read with great chemistry and so many twists and turns. Will be reading more from this authors work.
Loved it! First book by the author and it was everything. Beautifully executed, storyline was different. This needs to be a movie. I’m about to do a dive into her catalog. She’s being added to the favorites. Read it!
