Can a girl stay whole when her boss wants to break her?
Abandoned as a baby, I have two goals in to become a top interior designer in London and to never get hurt again. But when I finally threaten to leave my boring PA job, my mysterious boss, Joseph, reveals his face for the first time.
I'm attacked in a club and Joseph rescues me, the sparks flying even higher. However, when he introduces me to his dark world full of secrets and pain, I can't trust him anymore. I'm afraid of his world, of who I might become there, and of the pain simmering within me.
I can allow our story to unfold, hoping that once he breaks me, he'll stick around to pick up the pieces. Or, I can run away and risk never feeling whole inside. Either way, he's the only one who can save me from the darkness...or take me there with him.

BOY. this book took me on a rriiidddeeeeeee. from the first office solo-scene, to the broken backstories, to the club discovery, to the joining of Joseph & Lola. 🔥 I loved the fact that he pursued her first! — although, the aspect of hurting her to heal her kinda threw me for a loop. it served their storyline (& the club) well though! the ending landing on a cliffhanger? gotsta read book 2 for sure 👏🏽

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Her Dark Billionaire Boss is an age gap dark romance between a billionaire interior designer (who also owns a club with a secret men’s only sex club) and his traumatized virginal assistant. Lola's not a prude, just selective about who she’ll finally give into especially since she has trust issues. Joseph’s always been on the hunt for his “broken angel”.
What I liked: It kept me turning the page and it was definitely a quick read. I liked the bit of suspense waiting to see if I would offer us Joseph's POV as I prefer dual POV romances.
What I didn’t like: I felt like I was reading someone’s therapy journal or witnessing a very private and atypical type of therapy at some parts. Even some of the phrasing Joseph used about Lola made me a bit uncomfortable as it seemed it wasn’t about just earning her trust so that she'd be fully submissive---it felt as though it was more about forcing her to confront her past traumatic experiences in very unconventional means. I found myself wishing I knew BDSM lifestylers and/or therapists to ask them if these were advised (for lack of a better word) methods/practices/occurrences or anything they’d experienced.
I am honestly and truly not sure how I feel about this book. It came across more as general women's fiction than dark romance or smut to me. I don’t think it needed to be more than one book (it ends in a cliffhanger), but my curiosity will likely have me reading the next part. I think if you enjoy dark romances that you should still read it for yourself and see if you like it/how you feel about it.
Here we meet Joseph and Lola. Joseph happens to wear alot of hats. He's a famous interior designer, a billionaire thats started a secret society with his friends from college and also owns an adult club.
Lola who is a box baby, was abandoned and put into foster care, also wants to be an interior designer, is his personal assistant for 3 months and is about ready to call it quits.
She's bored doesn't understand why she's left in a simple boring office all alone. Her daily work life is either last minute scrambling for him or nothing to do for hours and days. Also she's never even met the guy.
So off she goes and sends him her resignation. And what happens next will change both their lives.
When the past collide with the present, we are left with a cliffhanger that will leave you with more questions then answers.
This is a slow pace contemporary lighter shade of dark romance.
So a secret society & smex club invented by the MMC & his friends (males only) do good by helping women who have bad traumatic sexual experiences by using BDSM to "break them" so they can heal & move on..
NASA could see my eye roll from space
So yeah he brings his girl that he told he will own her forever to the club, Initiates smex, stops asks her to describe her worst memory (sexual assault from her foster dad) she cries & he whips her because this is going to heal her more than going to actual therapy ... JFC
Also the entire club has male members that want to prey on women. The idea is atrocious .
Also MMC watched & gets turned on watching the wife of his best friend have f/f on stage..MMF wonders of the FMC will be upset by the idea which already tells me that the Ms virgin won't have problems because his magic penis & whip-for-therapy- is just up her alley.
I loved this book! I would definitely read the prequel first, it will give you a little more insight into Joseph's thinking!
At the beginning of the book, you have no idea what Lola has gotten herself into. The office she works in is strange and she has never seen her boss before. The moment she quits her job, Joseph enters the picture. You gradually learn about Lola's life and all the obstacles she has overcome and the traumas she has suffered. You get to know Joseph and his kink. He becomes her savior.
I thought this was a very good book. The content of the story is refreshing and different from regular storylines. I had not read this way before. The pace is nice and it is smoothly written. It ends with a cliffhanger and it is exciting. I can't wait to read how the story continues! Definitely going to read the next part!
Joseph is keeping secrets from Lola. He keeps her in a little office to work but he never comes in. She stays there and wonders how he can stay a float financially. But she's bored and decides to quit.
Then Joseph shows up and he starts to slowly unravel who he is. Lola tells him small truths and is upset that she opens up so freely to him, but she still has yet to tell him everything.
Joseph is broken but by healing someone else's broken it keeps his beast contained for the most part. Lola is broken and doesn't to visit how broken she is, but for this to work he has to break her apart to heal her and hopefully himself.
Book one and the Prequel were great with character develop and chemistry, I'm already diving into book 2. Can't wait to see if these two can get through their pasts together.
I enjoyed reading this story about Joe and Lola. While it did take me a couple of chapters to get into the book, it was worth it to me. I enjoyed the mystery surrounding each of their pasts and their trip out into the woods. I did enjoy seeing Joseph's (Joe) point of view during the book as well. The book does end on a cliffhanger, and I really want to know how this all ends.
If you like an overprotective MMC, you will love Joesph. Lola is young and has had a lot of trauma in her life. These two are a great pair together. I can't wait to see how their relationship plays out in book 2. I received this as an ARC and I am leaving my honest review.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED reading, had me hooked and it’s my favorite trope, Age gap.
Joesph who is Lola’s boss that she never met in person. Joesph has been watching her when she is in the office and she didn’t know it. Lola finally meets Joesph in person when she tries to quit. They have a sizzling chemistry and all the twists and turns in this book was great and kept me hooked to read it all. The spice 👩🍳💋I love reading age gap so if you enjoy that definitely check out!
✍🏼 Age Gap ✍🏼 Billionaire ✍🏼 Work place romance ✍🏼 Secret Male Society ✍🏼 Touch her and 💀vibes

This book just didn’t feel like it really got anywhere? It was focused solely on healing and sexual interactions but I don’t even feel it accomplished what it set out to do. Anytime they had a deep conversation, it always felt unfinished to me. Every single time.
And the cliffhanger just felt unnecessary. It felt like it could’ve been taken care of in the same book. See her get some relief and a fresh start. Rather than dragging it into a second book.
The smut was smutting though y’all so if thats what you’re looking for
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I find the description confusing. It comes across as a smut book, but it starts slowly before anything happens sexually.
I really enjoyed reading the chapter written by Joseph. He is very sweet to Lola. There is a lot of background story and a cliffhanger. If you're looking for just smut, this isn't a book for you. Due to the description I assumed it was the case, which is why I don't give it higher than 3 stars
"Her Dark Billionaire Boss" is an intriguing blend of romance and emotional healing, featuring a complex age gap dynamic between a billionaire and a vulnerable 19 year-old. The storyline revolves around their mutual struggles, as he seeks to help her confront her demons while she inadvertently aids him in facing his own. While the premise is compelling and the characters well-developed, I found myself feeling slightly uneasy throughout the read.
Pretty good age gap Billionaire boss story with a secret society. both characters have their own trauma and their own need for each other. It starts with Lola working for Joseph but she doesn't meet him until she gets ready to quit because she can't stand working for a man she's never seen. As the story continues on she meets him and becomes more involved in his business his secret society.
I feel like this book had the Bones to be a great one however it seemed to be rushed in the places that it needed to be more in-depth. The ending of the book just didn’t answer any real questions that you would expect it to and the smut scenes honestly weren’t a hit for me.
Her Dark Billionaire Boss by Lyra Wilde is a spicy start to this new series about a secret society of "protectors" Wilde writes deliciously complex characters with fully fleshed out backgrounds and in-depth interactions. Excited to see where the twist cliffhanger takes book 2.
It was a nice and quick read. The characters both have traumas and while it is what connects them, it is also what makes them feel more away, specially on her side.
The end is in a cliffhanger and I hope to read the resolution of the story because it ends up in a quite high note!
Lola’s had a tough life and Joseph is determined to protect her. The story is a work romance with a strong protector kink so don’t be expecting him to respect boundaries. The story is short and spicy so give it a go! I enjoyed the read.
Dark and delicious!! I can’t wait to see where this story leads!!
Don’t make any plans if you start this book as I’ve just read it in one sitting, not only is it spicy but the plot lures you in, and the need to learn more about the characters is huge!!
I really enjoyed this story. It definitely held my interest from beginning to the end. Lola & Joseph were to characters that I enjoyed reading about. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author as I like her way of writing.
I’m so confused… how is the FMC 19 and two years out of college? Is this a UK thing? It’s a DNF for me. The FMC reads way too young and while I like an age gap romance, this one just felt like too big of a gap.
This was soooo hot. I fell in love with this man. He’s loyal and loves openly and deeply. She is so introverted and scarred emotionally. He is a care-taker and knows she needs his special care. Opening up to each other may be the healing they each need.
An interesting sub/dominant thing in here. There isn’t much plot besides that. I would like more of a storyline instead of just that. It was okay, but I just wanted more.
This book was great and left me absolutely NEEDING to start the next one right away. I love the character development. The author gives you just enough to get to know the characters but also leaves you begging for more!
