A Kindred sorceress destined to fall in battle to save her Kin.

Ariya Wynthr is a magick-wielding, telekinetic party girl… and the Mother’s Medium, chosen by the Mother goddess Herself to defend Kindredkind. When Ariya joins with the five Chosen destined for her Coven, she will reach the pinnacle of her power.

And then Ariya will die.

Such a fate doesn’t exactly pique one’s excitement for the future, so why take anything seriously while she’s here? Especially not love…

A Magick-hunter seeking the cure to his brother’s curse.

Caleb Noble is a Seeker, a nighttime hunter of Magicks. As one of the Aer’guardians, a people bespelled by dark magick, he knows full well the evils of those who wield it. When his brother returns home struck by a mysterious curse, Caleb is determined to find the one who caused it—any means necessary.

And perhaps along the way he can find the one thing that will fill all the gnawing emptiness within…

Two enemies forced to depend on each other for survival.

When Ariya and Caleb are thrust into an unexpected fight for survival against a common enemy, the two adversaries must rely on one another to get through it. As the ensuing events take them across realms, they find themselves facing their own misconceptions of the other, navigating the tumultuous conflict between their kinds… and battling a forbidden attraction certain to end in misery.

Wow! What an enchanting debut novel from Angel Lee! I was hooked from the start with this fast paced, witty and wonderful romantasy! The world we are thrust into was so fun to unravel and learn about and the writing was fresh and beautiful, the mix of contemporary and fantasy between chatacters & realms was perfect. I absolutely loved the twist and how it’s set up for the rest of the series and I cannot wait to devour the future books! Hopping to different realms is so much fun! The build up and development of the world and magic system was easy to follow but still unique and intricate. Our found family lineup is so dynamic and interesting, with a giant, a dark elf, witches, kindred, humans, hunters and warlock oh my! I thoroughly enjoyed all the personalities and how they interact and all play their roles. Fiore may be my favorite ever, what a queen! The banter and tension between our FMC and MMC is so incredible and addicting! Ariya is sassy and bold as we love our FMCs to be but she is also complex, layered and 80+ years old! I love the flip in the typical immortal age gap dynamic we see in most romantasy, with our mmc being only 26. I love Ariya and Caleb’s enemies to lovers story and each of their characters development through their relationships and can’t wait to see where we go in book 2! I think the politics, action scenes, romance and plot twists are balanced so well and the magical dance the different elements at play came together to create. Spice is written well and perfectly placed. Just The right amount of slow burn tension ✨chefs kiss✨

4.5 stars! (rounded up :) )

I wasn't sure what to expect going into this, but I sure did enjoy it! This was an enchanting and well-written romantasy. The writing style is engaging, and I was pulled in to the story pretty quickly. Bonus: The banter was banging!

While it was fairly fast-paced, it wasn't at such a speed that the story was sacrificed. The worldbuilding is well-done (but not onerous), and the characters (including the side characters) were well-described and each have their own unique motivations, along with alignment with the larger goal. There's both a contemporary setting and a larger universe setting involving various magical realms, which really added to the depth of the world.

The magic system is both interesting and unique, although I would have loved to learn more about the concept of the Coven (that being said, I suspect that's to come in the next book).

I enjoyed the relationships between the main characters, and *cheers* a FMC that is the one who has lived for decades, rather than the MMC! The romance in this story includes a clear focus on the importance of both communication and consent, which was also really nice to see.

I am really looking forward to learning more about the world (universe? realms?) and the magic system. I will be reading the next book!

Kindling by Angel Lee ARC Review

4/5⭐️

Firstly I want to say thank you to the amazing Angel Lee who allowed me to read this as an ARC, she has done a fantastic job writing this book and I’m very excited to see where this series goes. This will be released on October 1st, right in time for the spooky season.

This is a dark enemies to lovers romantasy that follows Ariya, who is a sorceress and Caleb who is a magick hunter. They collide as Caleb becomes desperate to find a cure for his brothers curse and the magick behind it. They find themselves forced together in order to fight and survive against a common enemy.

This book has:
- Romantasy
- Enemies to lovers
- Sorceress X Hunter
- Found family
- Plot twists
- Forced proximity
- Chosen ones
- Multi POV’s

This was a fantastically written romantasy that I really enjoyed, the character descriptions and development were subtle but spot on for the first book in the series. The author also did a beautiful job of world building and I was able to easily visualise the different worlds/places in my mind. The pace of this book did at times feel too fast with a lot going on with the characters and plot at once.

I believe the main themes and tropes for this book were conveyed well and were consistent throughout the book. Particularly the enemies to lovers and undeniable attraction which was executed very well, building suspense and keeping myself very interested.

The plot twists in this book were good however I wasn’t as surprised as I would have liked by them. I was at times able to guess what was going to happen nevertheless I still enjoyed them and was occasionally surprised by what occurred.

Overall I’m excited to see where this series goes and to read more from this author.

Disclaimer: this is the first book in the trilogy and was given to me as an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion and review.

A Thrilling Journey of Magic, Destiny, and Forbidden Love

This book is a captivating tale of Ariya, a powerful Kindred sorceress destined to sacrifice herself for her kin, and Caleb, a hunter of Magicks seeking to cure his brother’s curse. Their unlikely partnership, formed in the midst of danger, brings an exciting blend of magick, conflict, and forbidden romance. The tension between their opposing worlds adds depth to their journey, as they grapple with duty, love, and survival.

I highly recommend this book. My favorite parts are the building tension between the two of them in the cave scene and the deliciously emotional encounter in Ariya's bedroom before Caleb returns to Aer’guardia. Highly recommend it and look forward to the next book in this trilogy.

*Arc Read*
Hear ye! Hear ye! I need y’all to 🏃‍♀️ and snag a copy of this book. I will be highly surprised if this doesn’t become booktok’s next darling. The characterization was so well done, and the imagery was next level. I had no trouble envisioning the magical worlds she had created. And the tight-lipped, hunky MMC… frogeddaboudit 🐸 It was a fun romp start to finish. There was a slight lull in action towards the middle, but it more than made up for it with a fantastic ending and a surprise twist that was oh so satisfying.

I did notice a slight issue with some repeated phrasing, and I do wish we had one character that wasn’t pulled straight from the runway, but it was escapism at its finest and oh so fun. All of these characters will be sure to steal away with your heart, minus the gma and Jax, they did grate some truth be told 😅

I highly recommend this for your next read 😊

Kindling brings us in a magical world with different realms, and different magic wielders.

I found the dedication on the first page really fitting: "To the dreamers, those who see beauty in darkness and danger"!

We are on a dual POV, following on one side Ariya, the badass FMC. I loved her, really. She is a strong sorceress character, committed to her friends, her Chosen and her people, with a huge mouth, but also vulnerable, very human in her way of behaving because of the fate awaiting her, and broken by her past.
On the other side, we have the MMC, Caleb, strongly believing in what he was told his whole life. He is a brave magick-hunter male, with lots of values, and he will do everything he can to save his brother.

Their encounter is full of sparks, they are attracted to each other, despite everything opposing them: he is a hunter, she is supposed to be his prey.

I really enjoyed how at the beginning, they had no choice but to make an alliance, and then how things evolved. How they both fight and struggle to realize things were maybe not as they seemed.
And again, even when they start to recognize their feelings, nothing was simple, as they are both very commited to their respective people.

I also loved the side characters: all very different thanks to an original magic system, the author did a perfect job in describing them and their place in the group. Fiore, the oracle, is just amazing! Wren, I definitely want to know more about her, what a fierce character!!

The writing was fluid, banters were good, and apart from a small slow part in the middle of the book, it was a really pleasant read!

Angel Lee’s *Kindling* puts the *slow* in slow burn, and I loved every second of it! From the nail-biting twists to the lingering anticipation, this debut novel kept me hooked, eagerly turning the pages to see what would happen next. The main characters were fantastic, but it was the side characters that really brought the world to life—I’m already craving more from them all. If you’re a fan of fantasy with rich characters and tantalizing suspense, *Kindling* is a must-read. I can't wait for the next installment!

This is such an EPIC read! I am very much in love with the characters especially the members of the Kindred Coven. But Fiore might be my all time favorite! I was sucked in from the very beginning! Aurora is my new favorite fantasy world! From the sky, to the mountains, to the ocean—everything was so mesmerizing. The magic system, the romance, the plot and the characters were woven together perfectly! This should be your next read if you haven’t read it yet!

Enemies to Lovers, a snarky spitfire female main character and a broody no-nonsense male main character, magic realms at odds with one another, angst and sexual tension, mystery, violence and action... This book really has everything.

And if you aren't in love with Ariya and Caleb within moments of their first interaction, I'm really not sure what to tell you.

The writing style is engaging and beautiful, and the dialogue has the right amount of snark (Ariya is so damn funny). The mystery and action are top-notch, and I found myself on the edge of my seat with each turn of the page. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
