Five stars, and someone please send help!!! I’m not okay!

Oh my God, where do I even begin?! I first devoured the original first three books of this series back in 2022, and let me tell you, the characters from Ruthless Desires have been living rent free in my head ever since!

So when I found out that the author had COMPLETELY overhauled and improved the entire series, you better believe I screamed 😭🙌 There was no way I could do anything other than celebrate this life altering rebirth of Ruthless Desires by going back to book one and starting over 🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️

I’ve only just begun my reread with the prequel, but even now, I can already feel the difference, especially in the writing style. I am beyond excited for the upcoming books, and if this is just the beginning, I know I’m in for something truly unforgettable! I am so happy! 🤸‍♀️

So when I downloaded Ruthless Desired Vol1 I basically went in blind other than knowing it would be mfmm. So when I made it through the prequel ad found myself at chapter one of part one I was so confused.

Anyway, The prequel was fine. I guess it was like 70 pages of the guys visiting the coffee shop once a week for like 2 1/2 months. I really wish the prequel included more of the guy’s backstory because it kind of feels like we just got thrown right into their relationship with no knowledge of what’s going on or what the dynamics are….

This was cute, and it did make me interested in reading the rest of the series. The main character comes off as really naive, which usually annoys me, but it was tempered by the chapters from the other main characters' points of view, so it was better than expected. I'll probably read the rest of the series at some point when I want a revenge focused story.

What a great prequel to start the characters story

Rhett, Elliot and Oliver must be protected, from this short book it shows that all these men have their own demons to fight.

All three of them having a romantic relationship with each other going back to high school 😍

Wren is the barista they meet at the coffee shop, who I hope will be the final piece of their relationship and that they all will help heal each other.

Wren’s ex boyfriend I hate so much so happy that relationship ended

Wow, this was a great introduction to Wren, Elliott, Oliver and Rhett. I may have read the first book first but I loved how their story began. And learn so much more from each character.

This prequel really feels like exactly what it is, a setup. It reads like the first few chapters of a bigger book rather than a full story on its own. It wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t great. Just… fine.

This was released after the main series, and honestly, I can tell what the next books will be without much thought. It very much feels like it exists to justify the insta-attraction in the first book(that will for sure happen) and make it seem more believable retroactively.

It’s an easy, mindless read and definitely sets the tone for what I expect this series to be: mostly smut, low stress, high chemistry. Which is totally fine sometimes that’s exactly what I want.

That said, I already feel like this entire story could probably be told in one or two solid books instead of being stretched into seven. I’ll keep reading and see how it goes. I'll keep reading mainly out of curiosity, not because I was fully hooked.
