Something Extreme 2

Rate this book
Ursula survived.

What happened to her that night in the woods, the things she witnessed, scarred her forever. Grief follows her like a shadow. Flashbacks of the horror she endured pollute her mind.

But Emmeline, a victim of abuse herself, is helping her pull through. Together, they relocate in a town in Putnam County, New York, summoning the strength to keep going as a strong bond develops between them. And when Lesley comes into Ursula’s life, it feels like a turning point, a helping hand to put those horrors behind, to forget the hell she went through.

However, hell has a way of catching up with you when you’re least expecting it…

Because in the meantime, in Boston, female college students are being abducted and subjected to unspeakable acts of violence, which have come to be known as the “Star of David” crimes, and which render these girls’ bodies gruesomely deformed.

The perpetrators know Ursula.

And they have some unfinished business with her.

This book contains graphic scenes of violence and torture. Reader discretion is advised.

This continues right after the first book. Our FMC is haunted by the horrors she has endured. She meets up with someone with an abusive past. They try to start their lives over but it all catches up with her. Fast paced and as brutal as ever! Highly recommended!!

Ivan Siegel has done it again!

I read this immediately after I read the first Something Extreme because it had to know what happened! Omg this book did NOT disappoint! Just as brutal and heartbreaking as the first one, but the ending....WOW! The way this author is able to make me feel all the emotions while reading is just amazing.

Took me over a week to start this one after the first one because of how everything transpired in it and I’m really glad I did because, well I can’t say why without spoiling it but I just really recommend reading this one if the first book left you feeling sick and hopeless.

The chilling epilogue to Ursula. Did she exact her revenge or did Adrian finally kill her? I really enjoyed the twists and turns and felt it concluded the story really well!

Part 2 is mainly Ursula's story. The first part was mostly Anya's, and I found that one full of hopelessness and sadness. This was more of a wild ride and a rollercoaster of emotions.

I don't really have any triggers (aside from dog abuse), however, some of the torture scenes in this one were very uncomfortable to read, and that's not a bad thing, it was just how well-written they were. The methods weren't unusually crazy or spectacular if you're used to extreme horror, but the way the were performed were just so vile and disturbingly intentional.

It's not just violence and gore though, the story has beautiful depictions of friendship, love and sisterhood.

Bruce though. I didn't think it was possible to hate him more than I did in part one, but the author took this despicable character to the next level here, job well done on evoking emotions!

This picks up straight from book one, when the only survivor Ursula escapes and is picked up by emmeline who has just run from a abusive husband and together they relocate to New York to start a new life, while back on Boston the women are been brutally abused and tortured but the perpetrators have a loose end to clear up.
Just like book one this has lots of graphic violence.
Another terrific read

Ivan has done it again. In part two we get more of the hard-core violence, more of the abuse, and more of the emotions. Ivan is great at bringing us to the edge and then nimbly pushing us over it. In this we follow Ursula, who has survived part one, but it's not over yet. She pairs up with Emmeline, and they have to take on the Star of David Killer, who may be looking for Ursula. Great action and extreme horror just like we like it.

I find it hard to review based on the subject matter and what is going on in the world right now.

My rating is not a reflection on the topic but on the book and the writing.

This was a two part series and although the body horror was good, I found it repetitive. The acts of violence were written well and showcased heartbreaking moments of breaking someone’s will.

The torturers become the tortured in a HEA (somewhat) ending.

Loved this! The twists and turns, the brutality and the second half of the book, so good. I've been rooting for Ursula the whole time. Loving the connections that comes together in the end! Heartbreaking but so worth it at the end!

I had to take a break before reading part 2 but it was worth the wait.
The next chapter in Ursula’s story is no less brutal, no less disturbing and just as gripping.
I can’t say too much without spoiling it but the ending…. 😮
