It's A Long Way To The Top: Behind the scenes of grass roots British rock music

Rate this book
A collection of stories and anecdotes from a variety of bands and people who work to bring rock music to live audiences across the UK. Some of the stories are funny, some sad, some thought provoking. Each one has been told in the bands or persons own words. If you’re in a band or have been in a band then some of these stories will resonate with your own experiences and if you’re one of the people who go to gigs week in week out no doubt you’ll recognise these experiences. Who knows, you might even have been part of one of these stories.

This book is so charming with each chapter written by bands, which everyone should check out at local venues near you, in their own words showing the love and passion for the art. A fascinating insight into the world of grass roots music through the eyes of band members, promoters, festival organizers and photographers. Each chapter is supplied by different writers and gives a low down on the trials and tribulations of trying to make it in an industry that has suffered massively since COVID. A must read for any music fans.
