Quickest read i’ve had since elementary school probably and I didn’t expect that. Obviously, since it was so short and quick to read everything had to be squeezed into like 2-3 minute chapters and there was no real development or connections that I had to the characters because of the lack of substance. I did like the country aspect of the characters and setting, which was fun to me. Other than that, it was super rushed, plot lines happened so quickly I had whip lash because they didn’t make sense at all (like him just randomly walking into the kissing booth, kissing her out of nowhere and then walking out when they had supposedly not known they had both liked eachother for like 15+ years), and it just wasn’t a book that I will remember or think back on. However, it was a decent, quick and fun romance to relax with.
I hate to give this a two stars, I really do, because I feel like it does have potential to be a good story… but this was just not it. I don’t know why I thought it was a good idea to read a short story. They always leave me feeling so unsatisfied, so I did this to myself honestly. But this just felt sooo rushed. Now, turn this into a novel, and I could probably get behind it. Spice rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
This story was a nice light hearted easy read. I enjoyed the simple story line and general feel good nature. Would recommend as a good quick read with no nasty surprises or as a palate cleanser in between some heavier reads. Overall a lovely short story
It was cute but way too short. I've read little novellas this short before and felt like it was wrapped up enough but this needed another 200 pages. Also, why did Duke describe her lipstick as Revlon Red? How did he know what brand it was? Idk why that stuck out to me.
Pretty cover, but the plot felt empty and the chemistry mild. It didn’t feel like there was any longing to be together like you assume there would be if they’ve liked each other that long. Plus, why didn’t they come out and say something? It’s not like they were best friends that feared ruining the friendship, they were acquaintances. Not the worst, but won’t reread or think too much about.
