The Gospel of Messiah: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John combined and in chronological order

Rate this book
Do you find the Gospels in the Bible confusing?

They don't have to be! The Gospel of Messiah is an easier-to-understand version of the Gospels that removes points of confusion to bring clarity to what the Man Jesus Himself said, taught, and did during His time here among us in an accessible and approachable manner.

This unique and invaluable resource combines the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John into one easy-to-read text—in chronological order—with corresponding maps, notes, and Old Testament quotes to help believers, unbelievers, and agnostics alike more fully understand the ministry and teachings of Jesus.

After the introductory chapters, the main section of this book untangles sections in the Gospels that record the same event by combining them to read as one. The result of this approach is a fluent and sequential account of the ministry and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth that is easy to understand and in the proper context of time and location. Selected Old Testament quotes are also provided to accompany the signs Jesus did to prove He was the Messiah and coming Prophet God had promised centuries earlier and that the Old Testament prophets wrote about.

Jesus Christ is indisputably the most famous and influential Man to have walked the earth. Learn for yourself who He is-this Man who claims to be the judge of the living and the dead-rather than what others say about Him. The five hours you spend reading this book might just be the most valuable of your life!

“ "The Gospel of Messiah" by Brett Hooper offers a fascinating approach to reading the four Gospels. I had never considered reading them in chronological order, and this format made the narrative both accessible and engaging. As a result, my understanding of the Gospels has deepened. Tracing the events of Jesus' earthly ministry in this organized way was both refreshing and insightful.

The author begins by explaining Creation for those who may not yet be believers, emphasizing God's personal interaction with mankind. What makes this book especially meaningful is how it reconnects the reader with the original Jewish context, bringing out the deeper meaning of the scriptures. Since Jesus and His prophets were Jews, the cultural and historical context is crucial, and I appreciate how the author honors this by using proper Jewish titles like Yeshua and Yehovah.

One of the things I appreciated was that Yeshua’s words were printed in red, making them stand out clearly. I also liked that the entire book, aside from a few side notes, was directly taken from the Bible—there was no added "theory" or interpretation, per se. The author encourages readers to test their questions against scripture (instead of what any man tells you). The references and explanations were excellent, and it’s clear that a great deal of research and effort went into creating this book. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to understand Jesus and his time on earth.

Making it work to prove a point

It’s not a bad read and it flows well, but is that the point or the purpose of scripture. I must be honest I could not shake the uneasiness that this is written from a place of bitterness, self-righteousness and offence. I kept sensing this is a book written by a man who wants to prove something. Interesting approach rewriting, adding, subtracting and manipulating the Apostles testimonies to suit a desired narrative implying they were not guided and inspired by Holy Spirit, but could be better done by a man. Did the Holy Spirit get these parts of scripture wrong by leaving them incomplete, out of order and unanointed? I wondered why God didn’t think to give us the a full, complete and sensible gospel from the beginning. If God was concerned the Gospel was so in error, how come He waited this long to anointed ‘another’ super prophet saviour to correct these scriptures, fix the church and enlighten everyone with their spectacular intellect. Or is it better to just see this as an intellectual attempt to re-package what God inspired in another way to appeal to curious minds, gain approval of ‘new’ revelations and set at ease lawless attitudes in offended hard hearts.

As I stated, it reads well and looks very nice, but something about the spirit behind it made me very uncomfortable reading it.

I recently finished The Gospel of Messiah by Brett Hooper, and it’s truly touched my heart. Hooper seamlessly combines Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John into one chronological story, providing a new and refreshing perspective of the Gospels. I loved the maps, timelines, and Old Testament prophecy connections—they helped bring new clarity to the scriptures for me. Reading this, I could step back and hear God’s voice through the whole story, not just bits and pieces, which really deepened my understanding. Hooper’s final thoughts hit home, reflecting on how our world today is drifting from God’s fundamental truths in the Bible. As someone who cherishes faith, this book reminded me of the timeless love and guidance we find in scripture. Highly recommend this for anyone seeking a fresh perspective on the Gospels!

Fascinating

This is a fascinating book that combines the gospels into one gospel to show that all 4 accounts are in unison with each other. I also like how the author puts the timeline of Jesus' ministry into the book. Definitely worthy

Easy to read

A good combination of the gospels that show how they fit together and show the same story of Jesus. Easy to read and easy to follow for anyone who wants to learn more about Jesus.

Comprehensive

I love how everything goes together, although I'd never use it to replace the gospels, is a wonderful supplement with a thoughtful introduction. Great for helping yourself along the walk of life if only because of how tidy it makes the gospel presentation.

helpful

I really like this. It rearranges the gospel passages so they are chronological. It includes extras like an intro for nonbelievers, historical comments, and links.
