Da Qiao Xiao Qiao

Rate this book
Qiaolin, the legitimate daughter, had a younger sister, Xuyan, who was an unexpected addition to the family. Xuyan’s unplanned birth brought joy to Qiaolin but resulted in their father losing his job, their mother being scorned, and Xuyan herself becoming homeless and placed in foster care with their grandmother. Their parents’ relentless appeals for justice over the unfair punishment they faced for having an extra child consumed much of their lives, but yielded no results and turned them into a local joke. Despite this, Qiaolin genuinely loved her sister and always defended her. However, Xuyan secretly coveted her sister’s role. It was only after Qiaolin, discredited due to her parents’ tarnished reputation, was rejected by her fiancé, gave birth to an illegitimate daughter, and subsequently committed suicide by drowning, that Xuyan began to reassess her own life and responsibilities.
