I don't often read romance genre books but now and then I do because the great thing about any romance story is that it has a happy ending built into it as a condition of the genre. That 'feel good' element makes romance books a sort of reading safe space for when I know I need an uplift.

This book gives that in an utterly delightful way.

Lexi Hart, who carries her guitar with her everywhere (and I mean everywhere) is twenty-one years old, the daughter of hippy-like travelling musicians and the granddaughter of a successful musician from the 1960s folk era. But now her parents' lifestyle choice is coming home to roost and they will be evicted from the family brownstone if they can't come up with $10,000.

Lexi looks at desperate measures to help them, even resorting to considering doing the webcam sex thing. Just in time a chance encounter, when she helps calm a neuro-divergent child called Ava, who is having issues in the park, brings Lexi into the orbit of 'the professor' (he also happens to be her business studies tutor) father of Ava who is a billionaire architect. He offers to pay Lexi to go for a weekend in the Hamptons to help look after Ava as her 'play nanny'.

It is a great set-up for an intreguing story. Yes, this is fantasy land! We all know vanishingly few if any real billionaires are handsome and sexy except in their own (usually rather warped-by-wealth) minds. But it does make a wonderful feel-good story of love and friendship. There is sex, but if that's not your thing it's well-flagged and so easy enough to skip a few pages and enjoy the story without it.

I am no fan of present tense writing, and I was a bit perturbed at the number of loose ends the book left dangling - it was never explained why a billionaire architect should be teaching a business class and, much more disturbingly IMO, Hunter's refusal to realise his daughter needed to be assessed for neuro-divergence was never resolved. But such minor quibbles aside it is a heart-warming read.

Recommended to readers of sexy romance who love a billionaire fantasy.

The title of this book indicates it is going to be a romance novel and for most of the story it felt quite predictable. It came across to me as a typical β€˜rags to riches’ kind of tale, with rich guy Hunter Stone attracting poor little, struggling musician, Lexi Hart, into a loving relationship with him that will solve all her future problems. There were some editing issues, as well as an annoying, constant, changing in the point-of-view of the exposition of the story, which affected my overall rating.

The initial introduction of Lexi and Hunter when she assists in calming down his little daughter, Ava, during the child’s tantrum is well written. It came across as most believable, as did the majority of the situations and conversations throughout the book. The author has a particular knack for creating understandable scenarios and dialogue. The slowly developing attraction between the older man and the much younger woman is done with skill and patience. However, I found the repeated descriptions of the various physical attributes of most of the characters a bit tedious after a while. The inner disquiet that Lexi and Hunter each feel about their attraction, due of course to the age and class difference, is a sensitive part of the exposition. But I thought this clashed dramatically and harshly with the final dozen or so pages. That section was definitely there to eroticise readers and I found it too distasteful to accept as part of a β€˜romantic genre’ tale. For me it was obviously puerile titillation, spoiling much of the interesting subtlety created throughout the bulk of the tale up to that point.

"Will wealth and status stand in the way of true love, or will love conquer all?"

Billionaire single dad Hunter has spent the past year doing his best to raise his daughter, Ava, after the devastating loss of her mother. But no matter how hard he tries, Ava is slipping further away, her grief manifesting in outbursts that neither her caregiver nor Hunter himself can soothe.

Then one afternoon, in the middle of a public meltdown at the park, a stranger steps in. Lexi, a struggling musician, has no Idea who Hunter isβ€”all she sees is a little girl in pain. Using her warmth and patience, she manages to calm Ava in a way no one else has been able to.

Hunter is both impressed and desperate. Seeing the connection between Lexi and Ava, he makes a bold offer: spend the weekend as Ava’s companion. It’s an arrangement that would benefit them bothβ€”Ava gets the care she needs, and Lexi, who is drowning in financial struggles and desperate to help her parents save their home, finds a temporary lifeline.

But what starts as a simple agreement soon blurs into something much more dangerous. Lexi and Hunter are from completely different worldsβ€”he’s a billionaire businessman, she’s barely scraping byβ€”but as the weekend unfolds, their undeniable attraction threatens to turn their business deal into something forbidden.

Will their growing connection be enough to overcome the barriers between them? Or will the realities of their separate lives tear them apart before they even have a chance?
This one is a page turner. Go ahead- you’ll thank me later. ~QS

A young, talented folk singer has an unexpected encounter with a widowed, single father billionaire and his 5-year-old daughter. At 21, Lexi is not only an aspiring singer, she is also a "tantrum whisperer," leading to Professor Stone offering the position of "play nanny" for the coming weekend when he is scheduled to attend a social gathering at the home of his most prestigious client in the Hamptons, and children are invited. He's counting on Lexi to keep daughter Ava from acting out and embarrassing him.

The weekend doesn't exactly go as hoped, and what does happen leaves Lexi the one embarrassed, and Stone enraged.

The story, although taking place over a relatively short span of time, is written with depth and style, the characters complex. You'll be taken on a bit of a rollercoaster ride as Lexi and Stone navigate their near electric attraction to each other, in spite of the vast age difference.

The quality of the writing was definitely 5-star. I deducted a half star because I felt the ending wasn't conclusive, although it wasn't a cliffhanger. Just left me wanting a bit more.

In the bustling heart of New York City, Lexi Hart, a struggling musician, finds her life taking an unexpected turn when she crosses paths with the enigmatic Professor Stone. Their connection is undeniable, but their worlds are poles apart. When Lexi is offered a job as a "play nanny" for Stone's daughter, Ava, she finds herself stepping into a realm of luxury and privilege beyond her wildest dreams.

The story unfolds against the backdrop of the Hamptons, a playground for the rich and famous. Lexi navigates the complexities of this new world while trying to balance her personal aspirations with her responsibilities towards Ava. Her relationship with Stone deepens, but their connection is threatened by the secrets they both carry.

One of my favorite parts of the book is the scene where Lexi and Stone share a passionate kiss in the kitchen after a chaotic baking class. The tension between them is palpable, and the way their emotions finally boil over is both thrilling and heartwarming. It's a reminder that sometimes the most unexpected moments can lead to the most profound connections.

Lexi Hart takes college classes and teaches music to children. Her parents were folk singers. They are facing foreclosure so Lexi decides to look into LotusCam to make some quick money. She is paid to buy lingerie for her first assignment. As she is crossing Central Park on her way home, she suddenly hears a child screaming. The child is with a prim and proper nanny and her father is also there but neither of them can calm the child down. Lexi has experience with this type of meltdown, so she helps calm the little girl down and then leaves.

She is sitting in class on Monday with the handsome Professor Hunter Stone. He is the little girl, Ava’s father from the park. He is temporarily Lexi’s professor, so she feels awkward. In reality, Hunter is a billionaire architect. Hunter asks Lexi to stay after class. He asks her to be Ava’s temporary β€œplay nanny” for the weekend. He has to go to the Hamptons for the weekend for business and wants Lexi to keep Ava calm and well behaved.

Being in the Hamptons for the weekend was quite the adventure for both Lexi and Hunter. I enjoyed the story.

Well plotted book and all characters are treated with respect. None are too flat or left out in the cold. The main characters both have some heavy issues to deal with before they meet. Then their lives become way complicated after they encounter each other. This is a slow burn novel and you don't know if things will work out for them. I liked the way the author handled the various villains and there were plenty of villains to go around. Everybody wanted a piece of the billionaire, of course. Who wouldn't? He's gorgeous, loaded and has ethics(!). The underdog in all this is the female lead, Lexi. You find yourself hoping she gets her Prince Charming but you aren't sure she ever will. Time and time again, the two are pushed apart either by outside/societal forces or their own misunderstandings of each other. It's just like real life! Anyway, this is an enjoyable read with an unorthodox and lush plot structure set in all the right places--billionaire settings, of course!

Forbidden but so tempting!

Hunter Stone has challenges being a single parent to his motherless child while running a renowned company. There are negotiations for a big contract in the works and his daughter is having meltdowns that her nanny cannot control. Who is this young woman who gently calmed his daughter?

Lexi feels sorry for the little girl. She has seen this behavior before and steps in to help. She never thought she would see the father again until she walks into her college class. He is the professor and she can’t stop daydreaming about him. His temporary job offer could save her family but can she walk away afterwards without leaving her heart behind?

Love the sizzling ending! Sass Green has delivered another excellent age gap romance. This is a well-written, dual POV story that reveals the character's thoughts as the attraction and heat build. I received an advance copy but my review is honest and voluntary.

Billionaire Forbidden Nanny Romance is part of the Contemporary Age Gap Billionaire Romance series. Lexi is the young aspiring singer struggling to help her parents save their home in any way possible. Hunter Stone is a billionaire widow architect with a young daughter in need of someone who can be more of a friend to her than a nanny. In comes Lexi the bright bubbly girl who caught his attention when she was able to help Ava’s meltdown. He hires her to come with them to the Hamptons for the weekend as Ava’s play nanny and during that time he cannot deny his own attraction to her. This book is a very slow burn with nothing but a few kisses until the last few pages of the book but did have some good build up. I did struggle with how quickly their relationship progressed when it was pretty much 3-5 days of them being with each other. I did love Lexi and Ava’s interactions and Lexi’s dedication to her music.

If you love a very slow burn, age gap, billionaire/nanny romance, then this book is for you!

The characters, Lexi and Stone, are written with such complexity and are so full of emotion. You are taken on such a roller coaster ride due to their feelings for each other, how they deal with the age difference, their own inner turmoil and misunderstandings. You find yourself wondering if they will actually get together.

The book had a great buildup, but I found that once their relationship started, it progressed quickly for the time frame they were actually together. Also, the ending of the book wasn't very clear about the status of their relationship. I would put it as happy for now.

I enjoyed reading this book, and the story was written well enough to keep me interested. I'd read another book by Sass Green.

A poor girl/rich man story, with manipulative other characters, set mostly in The Hampton's for a business weekend.

Lexi is trying to help her parents save the house that's been in their family for generations, one day she meets a Billionaire at the park with his daughter and nanny but the daughter is having an emotional meltdown, Lexi steps in to help and calms her down quickly.
Hunter realises that Lexi could be useful for his upcoming trip to The Hampton's, he needs to being his daughter for social engagements relevant to his business but she needs to be well behaved.
Lexi is introduced to high society as his daughter 'play' nanny which gives everyone the wrong impression.

Sparks fly between Lexi and Hunter but neither of them pursue it for different reasons. Lots of complex situations and dramatic experiences that all play out for a HEA.

a great easy read

Great read fast paced and short chapters
The characters could use some building I felt the relationship was there but the tension was often quick and could be built better. Some good plot twists I like a grovel
I’d score 3.5-4 basically the spice is 0.5 🌢️ (for my level of spice)
Would I read more? Yes I’d love to read how lexi got on with her singing and how their relationship develop but I felt the relationship ended in the early stages of a relationship.
Loved Ava and lexi’s interactions and games.

Overall, despite its pacing issues and early ending, I still found the book enjoyable. It’s a great read for those looking for a light, quick story, but I wish it had delved deeper into its characters and plot what happened to the people trying to sabotage? I look forward to seeing how the author evolves in future works.

This book had the potential to be a great story but there were a few things that let it down for me.

1. Too many short chapters. It’s written in first person, but you don’t know whose point of view it’s from until a few sentences in and then you had to go back and reread it.

2. There was very little character building, it was very surface level and I found it hard to make a connection with them.

3. The story dragged for quite a while and then the ending was rushed. And it just felt off.

4. The LotusCam sections were just creepy and I felt they distracted from the story.

Out of all the characters, I liked Ava the most. She was so sweet and adorable and she is what kept me reading.

With a few tweaks this could be a really good story as who can resist a billionaire and a nanny romance

Lexi and Hunter meet in the park where his daughter is having a tantrum. She comes to his aid and he hires her as her nanny. He’s a gorgeous billionaire widower. Most of the story happens in the billionaire playground of the Hampton's. The chemistry between them is off the charts but he has ethical concerns because of the age-gap. No shortage of interference from outside forces. The characters are likable and the story line will keep your interest. A good read that I enjoyed. A happy ending and no cliffhanger. I received a free book via the author and voluntarily chose to review it.

This heartfelt story is well written with wonderful characters that had me cheering them on to getting their chance for happiness. Hunter is a single dad who is still coming to terms with the death of his wife. He is father and mother but when his daughter has a blowup in the park, and no one can console her he is at his wits end. That is until Lexi shows up and calms her down. Her consolation starts her path with Hunter and Ava and as their lives entwine so does their feelings. Will Hunter and Lexie's relationship lead them along the path to a happily ever after.

Tropes: boss x employee, billionaire x nanny, single dad, forbidden romance, age gap, found family.

Billionaire Hunter is a single dad to his young daughter after his wife passes, swearing never to love anyone ever again. Lexi is from a working-class background and decides to take a job in the Hamptons as a nanny for Hunter's daughter, Ava, to help her parents.

The chemistry between them is palpable but they both have secrets that they are keeping from the other. Will they overcome these secrets? Or will they crash and burn?

This isn't my usual genre, and although I'm sure fans of the genre and those who enjoy the billionaire romance tropes, it ultimately feels like a predictable and one-dimensional read. Although there's an attempt to portray the characters as complex, especially Lexi with her musical skills and talent for dealing with difficult children, I found both of them fell flat and were created merely to play these roles in the plot, instead of being two fully-fleshed out characters in their own right.
It's very much what it's punted to be - a light, steamy read.

I saw it coming

Well, I enjoyed this book. I loved the instant connection Lexi had with Ava. Their relationship throughout was magical and definitely the best part of the book. I knew what was going to happen before it did. I found it slightly uncomfortable to read, but it is what brought the couple together. I am gutted. There have been no snippets from the previous couples from this series. It was a good read, just disappointed that there wasn't more from after they got together

I enjoyed this book. The build up of events made me coming back for more!

Having that there were many dynamics between characters such as Professor/student, Boss/client, Lovers added to a great story. Even with an unconventional HEA, a HEA none the less.

A billionaire Romance with a nanny only for a weekend. And that weekend changed everything for the MMC and FMC. I was in awe of the writing style. The cute little child was the sweetest. The way FMC connected with the child and how she helped the child manage her tantrums and loss. The feeling, the chemistry between FMC and MMC was just amazing. I definitely recommend this to all.
