Angels are falling from the sky, and with each fall, humanity is Blessed.
Theo's mission is to go undercover at the Hunter Academy, an elite institution training students to hunt the Blessed. Cursed with the supernatural ability to read minds, Theo thinks he has his power sealed away, until he becomes telepathically linked to another student. The problem is, he doesn't know which one, or whether they want to see him dead.
To the outside world, Grace is emotionless, calm and maybe a little cruel. She can have no one question her motives, and no one ask where she was at the time of Rafael's fall. But when someone cracks into her shell, she's aware there's a mind reader in the Hunter Academy, and what she should do, clashes with the chance to have someone really know her, not the fake face she shows the world.
But when two Hunters want Grace's help in finding a Blessed in hiding, she'll have to make heart-wrenching Turn against everything she once thought to be true, or betray Theo and the Blessed.
I quite enjoyed the premise of this story, and enjoyed both the main characters. The only thing that didn't really make sense to me is the fact that these kids are ostensibly in their first week of their first year in this college, and yet, they already seem to have established relationships with each other, and the staff members.
Aside from that (and a few typos), this was interesting, and I'm keen to see where this story goes.
