From the interactive story telling app "The Journals of Mama Mae and LeeLee," Blue Moon is an inspirational and magical tale of discovery created by Grammy Award-winning artist Alicia Keys, and was inspired by her childhood relationship with her own grandmother. Blue Moon introduces readers to young and imaginative LeeLee, who just moved to the big city, and her magical grandmother, Mama Mae. To help LeeLee adjust to her new home, Mama Mae tells her the story of Abey, a young Native American girl from the 17th century, and her adventurous yet magical evening when she too wasn't sure of her surroundings.

Beautiful book about a young girl named LeeLee trying to adjust to her new home. LeeLee's grandma Mama Mae tells her a similar story that might over come her fear. As the story unfolds you can see even though centuries apart, similarities sometimes never change. Filled with grandmas wisdom you find out you can always find strength within unlocking yourself. I loved the art work. The lyrics to unlock yourself by alicia keys was also included, which was awesome.

Blue Moon is based on the relationship with her grandmother, Mama Mae. When LeeLee moves to the big city her grandmother joins her to help ease the transition. Mama Mae shares the story of a young Native American girl, Abby, who was able to overcome her fear in a strange land. I enjoyed the book but would have preferred softer watercolors rather than the jarring CGI which didn't seem to blend with the story.

I received this book for free through a Goodreads giveaway.

Blue Moon was a quick read that paired with some great app downloads for ipad/android devices. I think this is a great idea for children's books as it helps to further engage them in the story. The story revolves around a young girl and her grandmother, and touches on themes of change, growth, courage and independence. The illustrations are soft and beautiful, and the message touching and inspiring.

I recieved this wonderful childrens book as a Goodreads giveaway. Thank you! It is a must read for children, but I felt it is empowering for young girls. A story of a young girl and her Grandmother, about courage and strength. The pages pop with illustrated pictures that tell a story. Included with this book is a free download interactive story with games, music, and more. Entertainment that lasts long after reading the book!

"Blue Moon" from the Journals of Mama Mae & LeeLee is a heartwarming children's story with absolutely gorgeous illustrations. The streets of New York City come alive on the story. The story makes an ideal bedtime story. As well, download the original music by Alicia Keys and enjoy! Thank you GoodReads for the book.

Text by an inspirational quote book, awkward digital illustrations by The Sims. It means well and isn't awful, just unpleasant. Not recommended unless the app, which I didn't try, redeems it.
