Cassie Nunez has devoted her career as a research scientist to developing an implant which will suppress violent urges in sex offenders. If successful, it will be the first known mechanism to prevent these crimes. When Hurricane Amy threatens the gulf, she stows the precious cargo in her car and plows through three-foot deep water toward safety. Greg Davidson, a private investigator, is headed to a meeting with an influential client. When rain floods the freeway, Greg is forced to swim to safety on a nearby truck. Cassie is whisked into the water and he subsequently pulls her from near-drowning. Every local news helicopter and van catches his daring rescue on video and they become an instant sensation, a story of survival against the weather. Cassie and Greg's worlds collide when the very company Greg is investigating has potentially ominous ties to Cassie's research. How can he investigate it in full view of the television crews without getting caught? How can she set her life in order when trying to avoid deadly forces after her research AND her annoying attraction to Greg?

From the first to the last page, this book gripped the reader with action and keep one turning pages to see what happened next. Into every mystery and intrigue a little love must fall. Spicy scenes, the woman always wanting forever and the man doesn't want to be committed, blaze with passion, not erotica but passion. This author has nailed it and I'm looking forward to future works.

I'd like to thank the author, Shelley K. Wall, for providing me with a free copy of her latest book, "Flood, Flash, and Pheromones" in exchange for my honest review.

With respect to the few novels I've read of Shelley K. Wall ("Wall"), I have to say that this is my favorite as I absolutely loved it. It's part romance-suspense-mystery with some action thrown in. Wall grabs your attention right from the start as Greg saves Cassie during a flash flood. His heroic rescue is captured by a tv news cameraman hovering above in a helicopter, the end result thrusting both Greg and Cassie into the public limelight, only to be surrounded and inundated with adoring fans every which way they turn.

I loved the two protagonists, especially Cassie. She's strong, bright, caring, and courageous; someone you'd like to be friends with. We also get to witness her vulnerable side at times which makes her even more endearing. She's not the usual over-the-top sarcastic and/or bitchy heroine that irritates you, or creates havoc. I loved how Greg caught onto Cassie's feelings for him - getting flustered each time they're together - from the simple gesture of her pinching her nose.

Greg is not only good-looking and sexy, he's also strong and courageous. Include his witty and charming personality and you've got yourself one hot male specimen that you'd be shoving into dark closets every chance you got. The chemistry between Greg and Cassie is palpable from the moment they first look at each other under the wet teepee waiting to be rescued.

The author does a terrific job weaving an intriguing story of murder and suspense with sizzling romance. Kudos to the author for not following the formulaic spiels of "I love you" and "Let's get married" at the end. That being said, I have to say I was quite surprised as to how the story ended, and where the epilogue picked up. The direction both Greg and Cassie decided to move forward in their relationship was not only refreshing, but also a mature decision making them and their relationship more believable. The cherry on top is that "Flood, Flash, and Pheromones" can be read as a stand-alone novel - no sequels! However, - and please don't jump down my throat - the way the novel ended could be considered a great intro to book 2 if the author decided to go that route and explore their relationship. I'm just saying...

In the end a terrific read that I highly recommend to all lovers of this genre.

Once again, thank you Ms. Wall for providing me with a free copy of your novel in consideration for my honest review.

This was an action-packed, suspenseful romance with an exciting premise, and I really enjoyed the journey as Cassie and Greg coincidentally meet then work together under dire circumstances. As the floodwaters slowly recede, they are forced into the spotlight of national attention as his daring, heroic rescue of her captures the hearts of millions. Cassie is a brainy scientist so wrapped up in her work that she truly is in many ways, removed from life around her.
Greg is on a clandestine mission, and the last thing he wants is to become the poster boy hero following the terrible storm. I loved the way the two interacted with the exception of Cassie’s recurring infantile gesture she uses over and over again in an attempt to get her mind off Greg’s distracting, and arousing, pheromones.

Undeniably, Cassie is socially awkward, but I just could not believe that rather than being put-off by her peculiar behavior, Greg considered the habit endearing and cute. In my opinion, Cassie’s discomfort could have manifested a little differently, and I could have believed it with greater ease, and sympathized more with her inner struggle not to be led astray by Greg’s delectable charm.

Still, I had a great time reading this story. I found the science bits about pheromones fascinating, wondered constantly what new cog would be the next obstacle Greg and Cassie would be forced to overcome, and felt distinct satisfaction when all the pieces lined up, and the puzzle came together.

This book was given to me by the author’s publicist in exchange for my honest review.

This story starts off intense and compelling when Greg literally saves Cassie's life during a flash flood. Strangers until that day, the media witnesses Cassie's rescue and publically pairs the reluctant couple.

As their reluctance turns into mutual attraction, things become even more complicated. Cassie's research partner goes missing, Greg and Cassie find themselves chased by gun-toting goons, and they at last give into their passion.

Cassie was exactly the type of heroine I adore. Smart and beautiful, yes, you can be both, she's realistic, strong, but not caustic. I warmed up to her right away, and hoped she'd get a fair shot at happiness.

Greg's a man haunted by his past, a loner, and leery. He's a goner though when it comes to fighting his attraction to Cassie.

Ms. Wall skillfully weaves intrigue, suspense, and some sizzling romance into the plot. Her characters are wholly believable and the pace is fast and engaging.

Flood, Flash, and Pheromones was a highly satisfying read.

Shelley Wall has written an action-packed, sexy novel that will have you rooting for the heroine Cassie and not quite trusting any of the characters who invade her life when Hurricane Amy sweeps into town. The author forces the reader to feel what it's like to be Cassie, pulled in so many directions-- by the flood, by her concern for her work and her home, by her unexpected hero Greg's sexy presence (looks, smell and touch!), and by the all-intrusive media. (Is it any wonder that the obnoxious TV newsman is nicknamed Red? He made me see red everything he got in Cassie's face!) When the action heats up and Cassie is embroiled with criminals, her choice of action make sense to her and to the reader, but her actions move her into even more danger. This is a page-turner!

Shelly K. Wall takes you on a fast past journey following Cassie a research psychologist and Greg and ex-cop to stay alive. It starts out with action and it never stops throughout the whole book. It keeps you on your toes to figure out what is going to happen next who is the good guy and who is the bad guy. All the while a hot growing attraction is happening between Cassie and Greg. The book grabs you from the beginning and doesn’t let go. It was a quick read, with a fast pace that kept me interested all the way to the end. You become instantly invested in the characters and you are rooting for them along the way. I recommend this book to anyone who like action, mystery, suspense, and of course a romantic spin. I can’t wait to read more of Shelley K. Wall’s books.

I received an ARC of Flood, Flash and Pheromones for review. I enjoyed how the author used the hurricane and its after-effects throughout the story to propel the reader into the actions and mystery of Cassie and Greg. Using the media to force the two together romantically added humor to the story and conflict between the hero and heroine. With its twists and turns, the reader never knows who to suspect. The ending leaves one wondering (and hoping) that Cassie and Greg will be in another book - together of course.

After reading Flood, Flash and Pheromones, I plan to read more of Shelley Wall's books.

An engaging read that sweeps the reader along with Cassie and Greg on a wet, wild rollercoaster ride of mystery and suspense. Cassie's research into pheromones does not prepare her for her response to Greg, especially after he rescues her from a hurricane and ultimately herself.
Greg is sent to find out what he can about a medical research company. He ends up finding the one thing he wasn't looking for, love.

I enjoyed this story. The connections between the hero and heroine were unexpected, considering how they met. I liked that they were both fighting falling in love, then realized that they shouldn't fight it.
