In her formal debut at Galbraith, Melphiera must give a dinner speech to everyone in Middlaeg Fortress, only to find that banquets in Galbraith are like nothing she imagined! What impression will the gourmet princess make on Aristide's men? Things get worse when the feast is interrupted by an intimidating figure who gives Melphiera a are there some monsters that even she can't eat…or drink? And when the table is cleared, Aristide and Melphiera must welcome a new guest to the castle…a pet monster!
The first two chapters of this volume were a little rough for me. It almost felt like the pages were in the wrong order and continued to have an issue I noticed in the previous volume where side characters look so similar that I can’t tell them apart. Thankfully the other chapters in this volume were really good. I loved the romantic moments (ommggg when he picked her up for her speech) and the Melphie montages.

3.5 rounded up. I'm continuing to really enjoy this series, but I'm worried about the pacing. Not much has happened yet, and I fear the series is going to keep spinning its wheels. But for now I'm still having fun with the ride.
Also i do not like the puppy character and I fear it will get more important LOL.
Love that she's a hit with his knights. As she should be!! Also love how into her research she is, not just because it was her mother's passion project but because of her own growing interest. Lovely.
Meplhie drinking the snake wine is hilarious! While she doesn't get a hangover, she has an amazing hangover cure! Meanwhile, the sass coming from the Sirius puppy slays me.
My eyes might be deceiving me, but I believe that the art has taken a step up in each and every panel. The artwork appears to be crisper. I also believe that there is a slight bit more of background, which has been a complaint of mine. It was too bare for me not to take note in the early volumes and took me out of the story and world. This volume was much better and while had many open backgrounds…the use of what was given moved this series in leaps and bounds. I also will say the detail on the dress in which Melphiera wears is really impressive. The art to me is a step greater and the story as solid as ever. Kudos to Chika Mizube.
I was expecting the blacksmith to be a tough sell, but she really drank him under the table and won him over so quick XD also, aristide running over to check her for hangovers and staring deeply in her eyes....SWOON~!~! I was waiting for a bit more romance and we are getting tiny crumbs, little by little....

The series lacks depth, but it’s a fun read. Melphie is so enthusiastic about food, and her monster research. Her alcohol tolerance dappears to outmatch everyone…though it may also be her willingness - eagerness, rather than- to consume the snake wine.
