Del is now on the second floor. Turns out it’s a prison and he’s now a prisoner. He gets forced to navigate the gangs and fight in the Colosseum. There’s also a mimic invasion. He manages to survive and escape the floor, but has to leave much undone. Book ends
Great humor and pacing. Wonderful narrator. Great story progression. Over too soon. Please enjoy.
This story started out veeery slow and didn’t quite live up to the first book. The jokes seem a bit forced and the repetitive conversations get increasingly more annoying. In spite of this I think that the last third or so of the book saves the whole thing. I will definitely read the next book when and if it comes out.
This series is quite the change from the Good Guys and the Bad Guys, but still quite unique and entertaining. Puppets rule! The writing is crisp and the storyline is fun. Watching for the next book in the series.
Yikes, dungeon time, and I really mean prison. 😬 Rules of the dungeon (in no particular order) don't make enemies of the squirrels, don't bother making friends with the rats, sleep as far from the bars as possible, don't get attached to new friends, and just survive. RIP Little Joe 😢
3.5 stars. Not as wildly creative as book one but still somewhat fresh and enjoyable. Hopefully this has an end point and isn't another endless slog of a series.
nonsensical banter at its finest. still crazy weird, still convoluted. still fun.
the first quarter of the book is amazing. Del does nothing. literally nothing. yet there are so many things happening around him. so much paint was used to build the world through passive observation. I feel Del is used only as an anchor for the point of view to be dollied around as the second floor inhabitants and "rules" are introduced. I loved this technique.
