Author Bio Roxy Rich

Roxy Rich writes psychological thrillers that will mess with your head, in the best possible way. Loosely based on true events (because real life is often more twisted than fiction), her stories take a deep dive into social injustices, especially those faced by women. Expect grit, heart, and the kind of realism that makes you wonder just how close to the truth she’s really getting.

While most of her work explores the raw and often brutal realities of human behaviour, Roxy occasionally veers off into darkly sarcastic tales about serial killers. You know, for balance.

She lives in the wilds of Somerset where she home educates her kids, writes brutally honest fiction, and dreams of salt water and gills, because she’s pretty sure she was a mermaid in a past life. When she’s not writing, you’ll find her swimming, chasing sea breezes, or side-eyeing society's hypocrisy like it just spilled red wine on her white carpet.

If you like your thrillers bold, smart, and laced with a wicked edge of truth, Roxy Rich is your next favourite author.
Dive in, just don’t expect to come up for air anytime soon.

Good story, kind of a slow burn. Definitely, read trigger warnings. I found the word, Mama, overused and became annoying for me. And it just kind of ended without wrapping up the story, it says, To be continued, but I thought each book in this series had it's own story and are supposed to be standalones. So, that left me kind of confused. I wouldn't say this book captured my attention like the first book did, although this book's subject matter was easier to read. Somewhat predictable. But I did love the mother's strength and shows what a mother is willing to do for her child.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I love every book that I read from Roxy. She has a talent for grabbing the readers right from the start. I did feel bad for Sabrina. Not only is every book entertaining, but there's a teachable moment in each one. 5/5 read!

My heart hurts. These poor girls have gone through so much. As a mother, my heart was broken for Sabrina. I am shocked that after what happened to them in the beginning of the story that Sabrina and her best friend ended up getting into that line of work. I understand for Sabrina, it was her desperate need to obtain financial stability in order to try to fight for her child, but.. her friend.. I'm just baffled. Especially that she struggled with handling it in the beginning. The story was great and captivating. Roxy R. did a great job of telling the story of these two girls. Their friendship is the kind that I hope to find someday. The way they held each other up and supported each other through out this entire story was heartwarming. This one sort of ended on a cliffhanger and we don't know whether or the girls make it back ok, though, I have this gut feeling all isn't what it seems. I look forward to reading the next book .

I am grateful to have received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This book was completely different than the first, which was a surprise, but also very enjoyable. I sincerely appreciated the shift in experience, finding that the first book was very raw and full of suspense, while this second book was more of a slow build and more deeply developed plot. There are some difficult and intense moments in this book as well, so there are several trigger warnings to note. I believe this is another book of the author's that addresses difficult topics and life experiences, and is definitely an insightful read!

Emotional

A well written and very emotional book. I read book 3 first as I had just discovered this author. Reading the books out of order didn't spoil my enjoyment of the books though. Worth reading. Recommended!

This was an amazing book. You can really feel and empathize for Sabrina's situation. If any sane woman with a healthy motherly instinct would go to the ends of the world for their child. They would go to the same depths Sabrina did to do what she could to support and fight for her child. When you find out the law isn't for your best interest or that of your child, you fight like hell to be heard. It definitely leaves you on a cliff hanger. While reading this, I was contemplating on how I would help her torture Lorenzo. I can't wait for the the sequel in the second series. Great job Roxy Rich.
