Fiona thought she had finally escaped. After years trapped in an abusive marriage, she seeks refuge in the one place she never thought she’d return to—her father’s biker club. The Devil’s House MC promises protection, but safety comes with its own dangers. Especially when Bolt, a fiercely loyal and emotionally guarded club member, starts to get under her skin.
Bolt doesn’t do relationships, and he sure as hell doesn’t want to get involved with a woman as complicated as Fiona. But something about her pulls him in, making it impossible to look away, even as his childhood haunts him and his jealousy flares. As tensions rise within the club and a rival MC encroaches on their territory, Bolt’s need to protect Fiona grows stronger—but so does the danger lurking around every corner.
James, Fiona’s obsessive and violent husband, refuses to let her go. He’s watching. Waiting. And he’ll do anything to reclaim what he thinks is his, no matter who stands in his way.
Just as Bolt and Fiona grow closer and she starts to trust Bolt, a jealous club girl shatters everything. With enemies closing in from all sides, Fiona and Bolt must navigate their growing attraction, tangled emotions, and the deadly threat of a man who won’t stop until he destroys them both. Can Bolt protect Fiona from the shadows of her past? Or will their turbulent love be burned to the ground, destroying everything?
Bolt vowed when he watched his mother keep forgiving his abusive father he would never fall in love. Joining the Devil's House MC helped keep that promise with willing women plentiful and no need for romantic entanglements in his sight. That is until one of his MC's brothers daughters get rescued from her abusive husband.
Fiona knew if she stayed with her husband her last breath was in the horizon. Finding herself under the protection of her Dad's MC is the fresh start she needed but one man has filled her thoughts, Bolt. Little does she know they have something in common and Bolt is grappling to understand something that has haunted him his whole life. Like moths to a flame Fiona and Bolt find themselves falling for one another, but trouble in the MC has everyone on edge and with Fiona's ex still out there threats are coming from everywhere, will it make this new couple stronger or tear them apart.
Different then the other MC books by this author. I liked Bolt, he is a hardened shield until he let's Fiona in. Fiona blossoms in the book and I enjoyed seeing her find herself again. Tons of complex characters I want to read more books about. Great beginning to the series.
Okay so Bolt’s Flame was surprisingly great . MC romances are usually a standard formula of girl sees biker, biker grunts “mine,” chaos ensues. Normally I eat that up for a quick MC read of trauma, spice, and possession, but this one said, “What if we legitimately build trust and solid foundation?” Shocking I know.
Kye is out here easing Fiona into feeling safe with him like a man who actually knows what emotional intelligence is. Add in Fiona unwittingly healing him right back by - pause for dramatic effect - communicating her thoughts and emotions. I’m calling this “a respectful slow burn”.
Their interactions felt so honest and raw. Kye isn’t always perfect or heroic—sometimes the guy straight-up fumbles—but he wants to protect her so badly it broke me
Now, yes, a couple plot points and twists came flying out of left field towards then end and the last 50 pages were CRAMMED with random tense moments to quickly set up future characters—but honestly? The book overall gave me EXACTLY the mix of MC chaos, spice, trauma, and healing I’ve been craving so I’m overlooking this in my rating.
Excellent read. I absolutely loved Bolt and Fiona’s story ❤️❤️❤️ lots of chaos, danger and jealous, manipulative club girls, always makes for a good read. A definite page turner and very entertaining. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎🖤
Great story. Well planned. Good intro into the South Carolina Charter. Mhairi took her time touching on many characters for future stories. Can't wait for the Presidents in particular. Bolt and Fiona had a fascinating story line, full of drama and suspense. The Devils House brothers all seem to be filled with demons....
3.25 stars. Bolt and Fiona’s story was okay. The MC members talked a good game but when it came down to it, their lax security and failure to address possible “rats” was inexcusable. I would not feel safe under their protection.
Overall I liked this. The drama and the trauma worked. Both characters were flawed in their own way but learned to love and trust each other. The only thing I didn’t like was the ending. I think it should have ended with the ex. The last part seemed unnecessary to me.
