Once again, T.R. Oldin has knocked it out of the park with Crimson Flames. I knew this book in particular was going to hit hard, and it almost brought me to tears. I am not one who easily shows emotion, so I was pleasantly surprised when I got misty eyed. That being said, please, please check the trigger and content warnings before reading.
Daddy B - I love the amount of emotional growth he has during this book. I knew his love for Nessa would never falter, but he needed to believe in himself as well. The fact that he was already aware of his mistakes or shortcomings when raising Alexi and then acknowledging and explaining why he did that shows amazing growth as well.
Nessa - she has been through so much. Even though she has had so much taken from her, she has also gained so much more in her life. I loved that she was able to heal not just through therapy sessions but also using alternative methods.
Kai - so smart, so protective, and such a smart ass. I feel so protective of Kai. He just wants to be there and protect those he cares for in any way acceptable. I love how he immediately goes with his gut and voices that feeling to others.
Cillian - of all the characters from the Mafie world Taylor created, Cillian is my 1000% favorite. Sorry Damien, his Deadpool-like 4th wall breaks are *chefs kiss* There is something about the Irish accent that trumps any other, in my opinion.
This book seriously had me in my feels and then cackling out loud the next second. I honestly love how Taylor normalizes therapy, kink, loss, and all forms of relationships and love.
I am sad to see the Mafie World go, but I am excited for the new ventures Taylor has in store for us.
