Jonathan Hickman is an American comic book writer and artist. He is known for creating the Image Comics series The Nightly News, The Manhattan Projects and East of West, as well as working on Marvel Comics' Fantastic Four, FF, and S.H.I.E.L.D. titles. In 2012, Hickman ended his run on the Fantastic Four titles to write The Avengers and The New Avengers, as part the "Marvel NOW!" relaunch. Goddamn this was a great issue, love what they were doing with the Makers and the androids, and fuck, watching the final stand was so heartbreaking. Love this comic.

বহুকাল আগে থেকেই এ ষড়যন্ত্র চলে আসছিলো। মানবজাতিকে পুরোপুরি নিশ্চিহ্ন করার এঞ্জিনিয়াররা সক্রিয় ছিলেন। শেষ পর্যন্ত সেই সময় এসে গেলো। মুভি, কমিক্সে দেখা জেনোমর্ফ অ্যালিয়েন জ্যামিতিক হারে মানুষ নিঃশেষ করে নিজেদের সংখ্যা বাড়াচ্ছে।

দ্বিতীয় পর্বের জন্য অপেক্ষাটা বেশি‌ই ছিলো। তবে ইংলিশে যেভাবে বলে "টোটালি য়োর্থ ইট" ঠিক সেরকম হিকম্যানের লেখনির দার্শনিকতা ও অ্যাসাড রিবিকের মনকে ছুঁয়ে দেয়ার, দ্বিধান্বিত করার এবং আতঙ্ক ছড়ানোর মত দুর্দান্ত অঙ্কনের মাধ্যমে Aliens Vs Avengers এর ‌এ ইস্যুটি কমিক রিডারদের মন জয় করে নিতে পারে।

এ রকম ভয়ঙ্কর সুন্দর ডিটেইলড আর্টয়োর্ক যেখানে টনি স্টার্ক, ব্রুস ব্যানার, ক্যারল ডেনভার্স, মাইলস মোরালস এবং স্টিভ রজার্সের বৃদ্ধ রূপ চমৎকার লেগেছে। অশীতিপর বৃদ্ধ স্টার্কের চমকে দেয়ার মতো পরিকল্পনা, অ্যালিয়েনদের সাথে প্রায় আশাহীন যুদ্ধে জড়িয়ে যাওয়া হাল্ক ও ক্যাপ্টেন আমেরিকার সাথে আইরন ম্যানের দ্বিমত এবং আরো কিছু সারপ্রাইজ এন্ট্রির এক ঝলক দেখানো হয়েছে এ পর্বে।

তৃতীয় পর্বের অপেক্ষায় আছি। ঠিক বুঝে ওঠা যাচ্ছে না কোথাকার পানি ক‌ই গিয়ে গড়ায়। হিকম্যান পুরো ভার্সের বিষয়টা শুধুমাত্র চোখ ধাঁধানো মারামারির দিকে না নিয়ে ভিন্ন পথ অবলম্বন করেছেন যা প্রশংসার দাবি রাখে। এটাই সিরিজটি এঞ্জয় করার অন্যতম এক কারন।

The artwork is solid and fits the mood of the story. Tony is actually kind of amazing in this issue, to be honest. Completely admire aspects of how his mind works.

The story, overall. It's all right. I reread it to review it and I cannot say I am any more impressed (or unimpressed) then when I first read it. It's just ...depressing. Considering all of the powers that heroes have, it makes me wonder if something else happened that allowed the Xenomorphs to take over as thoroughly as they do. It just boggles my brain that they have overwhelmed the Earth to the extent that they did. What happened to the Asgardians or other "deities" that inhabit the Marvel U? Perhaps that was described in the first issue and I missed it? I have a hard time wrapping my brain around the "this" Earth being overrun like it is.

I had forgotten that the story involves "the Multiverse" and the various "David 8's" that are apparently skipping into other Universes to kill all life forms. Yawn! That concept is a giant meh for me. Cannot say that I care for it. On the one hand, they should have left that alone.

And then there is David 8. It is weird, because that scene of the "David's" looking down on the planet of Engineers looks so strongly like the scene from Alien: Covenant that my mind kept saying "that is a future event and yet the Xenomorphs have overrun the Earth of the past?" because of how David-8 was built by Weyland-Yutani in the "Xenoverse" and is used at a later point in Earth's history; I have a hard time accepting them as being thousands of years old like they would have to be in this issue.

What is funny is that rereading this a year later, I actually picked up on some stuff (info) that I missed the first time around. So, on the one hand, that helps make the story more ... I am not sure of the word, but I felt like I had a better grasp on what is happening, hahahah! That, and the "blurb"/summary on the title page was an immense help. I must not have read it the first time around, hahahah!

Bruce Banner pointing out that if he did not join Captain America's valiant "last stand" then he would be no more than a monster was heart-breaking to read (see) and probably one of the strongest moments in the book. The other part for me was Tony's "educating" David about what it means "to play possum" while getting David to do his villainous monologue to reveal his master plan (strongest moment, not heart-breaking). The third moment would have been the hard call Tony had to make by leaving Cap, Bruce, and the group of humans they were protecting behind in order to save the rest of the human race.

I also liked the brief conversation between Tony and Bruce about how whether or not 1,400 people was a large enough base to create a viable population and how Tony asks Bruce to trust him because he (Tony) has planned ahead. Does that mean Tony has saved genetic material to help spread out the gene pool of the human race?

This series is not going in the direction I thought (hoped) it would go when I first read it, hahahah! And rereading it just reinforces my disappointment over its direction. However, I suppose the strong emotions, the sheer and utter hopelessness that I felt while rereading this series means it is probably better written than I want to give it credit for. So probably 4 stars because of how strong my emotions were when reading it coupled with 2 stars over my disappointment averages out to 3 stars. But I do not feel like being generous in this case, so 2 stars it will remain. Maybe if I reread it (again) at a later time I will reassess and give it a higher score. The cover of the issue that I have is pretty boss, though - that is definitely one positive about this issue, hahahah!

Aliens vs. Avengers #2 was a huge step up from the first issue—had me on my toes the whole time. I get that issue #1 was laying the groundwork, but this one hit way harder. Seeing the Engineers again was awesome, and David and his brothers? Pure evil. The final stand with Cap really got me, especially with the whole “Avengers dying” metaphor. Watching two of my all-time favorite characters face off against xenomorphs was brutal in the best way. Also, David actually getting mad at Tony was interesting—Tony outsmarting him, being the “Ant” that they couldn’t beat, because he’s THE TONY STARK. Can’t wait to see what the Engineers are up to next.

Con Hickman nunca puedes esperar algo poco complejo. Y anda que este número dando una zambullida total en la última duología de Ridley Scott con ALIEN deja un panorama bastante desconcertante en cómo valorar este crossover que bien podría ser una pieza más esencial de lo esperado para la franquicia ALIEN. Por la parte VENGADORA, el autor también se está quedando a gusto con esta oportunidad de desesperanza total para los restantes héroes en su gran mayoría decrépitos y "afeados" por el brutalismo gráfico de Ribic.

Hulk vs Xenomorphs will always be cool. I really like how this series isn't afraid to touch the Alien prequels in it's set up. Again the worldbuilding for both franchises is great and I can't wait to see where the status quo shift at the end leads

I thought this might b just a run-of-the-mill cash grab with an Aliens logo slapped on a cover, but Hickman delivers a multiverse story in the vein of Prometheus! This title is impressive and should satisfy the most diehard Aliens fan. I'm disappointed that this series will only last 4 issues.

I guess I was wrong.

Earth was completely overrun by the Aliens.

Which is strange, seeing what the Hulk and other heroes do to them in this issue.

Right now I am unsure of what the story is, we get a flashback with an old Tony Stark and a hostile takeover of Start Industries but nothing more than that, just the alien-busting spectacle.

Me ha parecido curiosa la manera en la que ambos universos se cruzan, aunque he sentido este volumen un poco lento y flojo por poca acción pero entiendo la situación complicada que vive este universo Marvel (aunque aprecio este ultimo sacrificio y si se me salio una lagrima)
