Only just finished this and had to write a review straight away! I was so excited to be accepted for an arc for Ashley’s debut novel and I absolutely loved it.
This was a dark mafia romance and boy did it deliver!! The mutual pining and chemistry between Lake and Blaze was off the charts. Lots of spice and the kinks in this just WOW! This was a dark one so be sure to check your triggers but I loved every second of this, these two were absolutely unhinged and so perfect for each other and I was so here for it!! Haha that graveyard scene I almost died!!!
I couldn’t put this down it was so good and holy crap the twist towards the end had me questioning everything I thought I knew had my heart pumping that’s for sure!!
Thanks so much Ashley for letting me read this early it was so much fun to read and I can’t wait to see what else you write 🖤

I freaking loved this book!! I loved the character names, Lake and Blaze! I was constantly waiting for what I could sense was lurking around the corner. It wasn’t predictable but it was clear there was something, often times there was multiple things happening. The book kept me reading long last my bedtime. As a debut novel, it could not be better!! It’s dark, but not too dark. It was twisty in all the right ways!! My only wish is that I could read it again for the first time!! Super excited for the next books!!

This was a fantastic mafia romance that hit all the tropes we love in this genre:

It ticked all the boxes! I loved Lake and Blaze, their story, and their character development. I loved that Lake wasn't afraid to ask for what she wanted from Blaze and that Blaze loved that she matched his kind of crazy! Really good read!

Ugh this book put me in a horrible book slump it was that freaking good. I loved the story between Blaze and Lake, beginning middle and end, I absolutely loved it. Lake was an awesome character, I enjoyed her darkness and her spunk. Partnered with Blaze who matches her darkness so well with his own. Their darkness makes their chemistry absolutely amazing as well and it adds to the whole storyline. The twists were really really good, it was nicely predictable and I really enjoyed it. In terms of spice there was a fair amount throughout the book so I have to put it at around a 4. It was pretty frequent and very descriptive, there was some darker themes so make sure to check trigger warnings. Overall, I’m obsessed with this book and I’m so thrilled with how it progressed. It’s a 5 star read for me and I’d definitely recommend it to someone who enjoys dark romances and I’m 100% going to add this to my trophy shelf cause it was a prize to be able to read this.

I love a good dark Mafia but my god THIS! this MAN!! 🤤
Touched and her and die, super protective, willing to have seggs anywhere to please her and I mean anywhere 🪦🤭
And the detail in these scenes are everything!!
Blaze gets out of prison see how grown up his bosses daughter Lake is and can’t keep his hands to himself, but she feel the exact same way!
These two fell hard and I loved it 😍 they are everything I love in a book relationship and I couldn’t eat this up quick enough!

I was hooked from the start. I loved the independence from Lake & seeing her take control of what she wanted. Blaze took what was his & made sure everyone knew it which I loved, his possessiveness 🤭
The relationship with Lake & her Dad was beautiful, especially for him to trust her to live her life.
Highly recommend!

Girl This book absolutely had me from page one! I absolutely ate it up and when I was done, I was needing more of Blaze and Lake.
I loved the fast pace of this book but at the same time the plot was there and the spice was not overly done. I’m really looking forward to book 2 and can’t wait to follow along on this journey of yours

Loyalties & Longings is Ashley Dark’s highly anticipated debut novel and boy did it deliver!
The story has you from the start and I couldn’t put this down. The main characters, Lake and Blaze, were written so well and there is no denying the connection and the chemistry between the two.

Girl, this was an amazing debut. I couldn’t put it down, I definitely fell in love with these characters.
Blaze & Lake were amazing characters, I really enjoyed their chemistry, and angst/pining!!
I was immediately sucked into the story that was unfolding, it was faced paced and was a perfect balance between plot & spicy parts. I loved Blaze he was sexy & a little crazy. Lake was strong and asked for what she wanted and wasn’t afraid to take it.
This was dark but also sweet, these two were drawn to each other from the very beginning, and I really loved watching them grow & develop. The spice was so freaking delicious so thank you for that 😬Mafia is one of my absolute favourite tropes and you knocked it out of the park. This was such a great story and I can’t wait to see what you bring us next.

This was a great debut! Quite unhinged in places which I personally really enjoy. Seriously unrealistic in places also but I didn’t really mind. Keen to see more from this author!
