The Assassin Of Irolyth: A Realms Of Elswyth Standalone

Rate this book
A princess in hiding. The assassin fated to find her. A bargain bound by a kiss.

Princess Piper fled the fae realm of Irolyth after her uncle stole the throne three years ago. Hiding among the humans and working as a waitress in a rundown bar isn’t glamorous, but at least she should be safe.

Everything changes when the most dangerous assassin in the land walks in.

Jax may be her only chance to regain the throne and return to her homeland. After tricking him and sealing their magical bargain with a kiss, he’s bound to help her defeat her uncle and reclaim her throne.

Can Piper prove to her people that she is ready to be Queen? The real question is, can she convince herself?

The Assassin Of Irolyth is a complete stand-alone novella in the Realms of Elswyth Series. If you are a fan of morally grey assassin X fae princess, one bed, journey of self discovery, tricky bargains, banter, and a happily ever after you do not want to miss out on this book is for you!

Nothing new or fancy, but a solid and worthwhile read nonetheless.

This book is a paint-by-numbers collection of all the popular romantasy tropes. An exiled Fae princess + a shadow daddy + a quest to regain her throne + annoyance to lovers + fated mates + spice with a virgin FMC = a book that COULD feel like a cash grab; but The Assassin of Irolyth doesn't feel soulless or careless. It doesn't do anything new or innovative, and it is exactly the sum of its parts, but it's an entertaining read that does precisely what it sets out to do.

It's a quick, easy, enjoyable time. The writing is solid and serviceable, and it thrives during descriptive passages. The pacing is a touch quick—understandable, given the length of this book—but it avoids feeling truly rushed. The chemistry between the two leads is consistent and fun. The worldbuilding is intriguing and steady.

This may not blow you away, but you'll probably consider it a worthy use of your time!

I loved this book. This could have easily been read in one sitting, but I had to adult and finished it in 2 days. This is my new favorite book from Willow, and I can't wait to see where this series goes next!

For tropes: Human/fae, princess/bodyguard, touch her and die, lost princess, morally grey MMC, and a happily ever after.

Favorite quote: "Every flame casts a shadow. I fully intend on being yours, princess."

Yet another perfectly paced novella by the talented Willow.

I had the pleasure of reading this early and let me tell you it’s delicious. Fast paced romantasy. Friendship of convenience turned into romance. Reclaiming of a throne, slaying of thy enemies. It’s everything you could want in a fantasy novel wrapped up in a mini package that’s written beautifully.

10/10 highly recommend if you love fantasy, fae, assassins and all things magical!

This is my first time reading anything from Willow Asteria and I couldn't put it down. I loved the writing style and the characters were loveable. Jax and Piper's chemistry starts from the beginning and grows as they have time together. I also appreciated that the book comes right out with a content warning because not every author is willing to do that. I can't wait to see if there is more for Jax and Piper after this story and I will be looking into Willow's other books as well.

Human/Fae
Princess/Bodyguard
Touch her and die
I was lucky enough to get the chance to read this book early. This was my first Willow Asteria book but it definitely won’t be my last! The writing style was perfection and the characters were so easy to fall in love with. I couldn’t put it down and finished it in one day, then I read it a second time because I wasn’t ready to be done with Piper and Jax’s story. It definitely left me wanting more and hoping for book 2!

3.25⭐️ This short story book is a new take in fantasy romance! It is very fast-paced with the FMC and MMC immediately meeting and forming a relationship in the get go. There were times where the story was difficult to follow, I think it’s because of how fast it was progressing. The romance occurred pretty fast as well so it was hard to really feel any emotional connection towards the two MCs and towards their relationship. However, I enjoyed the plot a lot more than the romance aspect!

Loved! Very short and sweet right to the story. She’s a princess who lost everything he’s an assassin she hired to help her. What they didn’t know is it was more than that. I would love to see this and the other one as full novels but that’s the beauty of it too. Leaves u wanting more. I can not wait to see what the next will be if there is another standalone ❤️

Short, sweet, a little spice and to the point. Absolutely loved this novella. Easily could be read in one sitting, if I hadn't had to adult. Finished in less than 12 hours. A princess who lost everything and assassin hired to help her.

Amazing

The world building in this book was amazing. Willow Asteria never fails to write a story that draws the reader in weather it is a full length like the Blood Singer trilogy or her stand alone Elswyth series. I can't wait to read the book in the series.

I really need Goodreads Partial Stars

I would put this as a solid 3.75 stars. Better than the first one, and I did debate 4 stars. I hope the next ones have more pieces and connections to bring the world together too

Wonderful! Perfect! Loved her first book and had to read this one. This is an author who has your attention from the first page and leaves you breathless at the end. The pacing is so well done which I have to have in a book. Absolutely recommend this book to readers who love a true romantasy story!
