Slow burn.... Yey!
Sooo that ending has so much potential. I'm excited for book 2 It's like we are finally getting somewhere.
The first 40% needs a deep edit, it was tedious. World building isn't about describing buildings or food and drinking. I almost gave up so many times at the start, there is this jarring from the flow when we get a "lesson" about the supernatural characters and their origins. I can assure you by the end I remembered none of it. If it's relevant in book 2, that will be a shame.
Yet, yet! when the book picks up its stride and we finally get to know Morgana and her harem it gets really interesting.
Try like me and give this book a minute to pick itself up.
