"The Asteroid Cafe" by Zachry Wheeler is a sci-fi horror short story that's out of this world (pun intended lol). The story follows Kevin’s vacation to the orbiting diner with a bed and breakfast. The Caretaker, Burt, and Kevin witness an apocalypse and watch the moon and earth face nuclear destruction.

This was a page turner and I was hooked right from the beginning. I loved the dark humor and the twist that I did not see coming! This is a must read horror short story!

Apo'co'lip'tastic (Ask Max)

Always wondered how I would feel about world destruction and being the only survivor. At least save the animals and my loved ones ... and their loved ones and...
Now, what would I order at the restaurant at the end of the Earthiverse? The same as Kevin I suppose.

Oh, Burt...
This little story has an ending I was completely unprepared for. I really liked both the characters - until the end. I can't even hint anything because it would completely give it away. This is well worth the 30 minutes it takes to read.

Eh… it wasn’t that great. It was better than the one I read previously. I know this is a short story, but with as much as I love his “Max and The Multiverse” series, I was expecting these short stories to be better.

Who would have thought the end of the world would be such a blast! 🌎💥 Sitting at a bar in the middle of space, Kevin gets front-row seats to the apocalypse and somehow, it's kind of exhilarating. I am absolutely here for Zachry Wheeler’s twisted sense of humor. 👏🏾👏🏾

Welcome to my repository of wrongthink, where I turn creepy ideas into creepy short stories. Most readers will know me for my sci-fi comedies, but I do have a darker side that I like to explore from time to time. The end results are Twisted Simulations, a collection of chilling tales from the dark corners of the universe.

Twisted. I liked the tongue-in-cheek sarcasm of the main character. Lovely ending.

This short story in the twisted simulations series isn't so much a horror story as it is a horrific exploration of how dark humanity can actually go.
