The king is dead. Ellevail has fallen. And I’ve been kidnapped by an annoyingly sexy, shadow-wielding prick.
When Kade Blackthorn kidnapped me in the middle of the siege, he sealed his fate. I will never trust his lies again.
With the marriage trials interrupted and my father dead, the throne is at risk of falling into the hands of his duplicitous royal advisor. But being hundreds of miles from home, there’s nothing I can do until I find a way to escape the arrogant man who stole my heart. No matter the cost.
Trapped in a kingdom that shouldn’t exist, brutality, betrayal, and a tyrannical king are just a few obstacles standing in my way of returning home. Now Kade has a prophecy of his own. One that seems too connected to my own to be a mere coincidence. Falling for him made me vulnerable once before, and it's a mistake I won’t make again.
The fate of Brookmere is at stake, so I will bury my feelings, escape my possessive captor, and return to those I left behind.
Even if doing so breaks my heart all over again.

Omg my newest obsession is going to be this series! 🤩 I was so mad when I got to the last page because I didn’t want it to end 😭 I love this shadow daddy and our strong fmc going through so much and still pushing on. The found family is everything 🫂 The world building and plot in this one was such a step up from the first book and I cannot wait for book 3!💜
**Also shoutout to the authors for adding a ✨RECAP✨ at the beginning! 👏🏼👏🏼 For those who had to wait for book two I know would appreciate this!**
Shadows of Ruin is the second book in The Broken Prophecy series and picks up where Blooms of Darkness left off; dropping you right back into the aftermath of the battle of Ellevail. With so many things left uncertain after book 1 ended, this book dives right in; answering so many questions, while stirring up even more.
This book was one of my most anticipated reads of the year and it checked off all the boxes I was hoping it would. After being completely blindsided by Kade at the end of book 1, Lana is intent to make him pay for all the betrayal and heartache he’s caused her. Determined she will never forgive him, Lana’s only objective is to get free and find her way back home to her friends and what’s left of her family. Kade, on the other hand, will do everything he can to keep Lana safe and by his side.
This story is full of all the things that make a fantasy book fantastic. Undeniable chemistry between the two main characters. Supporting characters that draw you in and have you rooting for them just as much as you do the main characters. Seriously, I am fully invested in their wellbeing’s as much as Lana and Kade. There’s mystery and intrigue that have all the spidey senses working in overdrive. There are twists and turns that have you so ready to turn the page to find out what happens next, while dreading it in the same breath!
The writing in this book is phenomenal. I loved that it was multiple POV and enjoyed the inner monologue of each character. I found myself holding my breath several times while reading because I didn’t know what was going to happen next. There were some things that I saw coming and others that completely caught me off guard.
Tropes in this book include: Prophecies Broody Shadow Daddy Stabby FMC Enemies to Lovers and back again Touch Her & ☠️ Fated Mates
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this honest review voluntarily. Thank so you much to Anna Applegate and Helen Domico for allowing me to read your work! I loved it. 💜
SHADOWS of RUIN – I AM NOT OKAY (in the best way possible)
OMG. I am OBSESSED with Shadows of Ruin! This book completely wrecked me in the best way, and I have zero regrets. “One more chapter” turned into me devouring the entire thing at nearly 2 a.m.—and trust me, it was worth every second of lost sleep.
The last 5% of this book? Absolutely chilling. The last line? It broke me.
I am not okay. In the best, most devastating, utterly addictive way possible—I am totally unwell. This book wrecked me, and I would happily let it do so again.
Anna Applegate and Helen Domico have crafted something absolutely stunning and successfully expanded on it in book 2. The world-building is rich, the characters are complex, and the stakes are so high.
Anna and Helen, I don’t even know where to start—thank you so much for letting me read this early. You had me hooked in Blooms of Darkness, but now? Now, I am obsessed beyond repair.
Let’s talk about Raya and Jax, because I am in love. They are such a fantastic addition to the story, and the way they fit into the group dynamic? Perfection. I’m a sucker for a found family trope, and this book delivers so hard.
And of course, Lana and Kade. I have no words. Magic doesn’t even begin to cover it. Watching them trust each other, watching their bond grow—seeing how fiercely they love and protect each other—it’s everything. The tension, the devotion, the slow-burn intensity… I could read about them forever.
But after that last page? I’m itching for book 3. I need it. I need it now. The wait is going to be pure torture, and I’m already counting down the days.
This book has everything I love: ✨ Enemies to Lovers ✨ Morally Grey MMC (hello, brooding and powerful) ✨ Shadow Daddy Energy™ (yes, I said it) ✨ Fierce & Stabby FMC (Lana is that girl) ✨ Who did this to you? (Swoon) ✨ Forced Proximity / One Horse Trope ✨Found Family
5 ⭐️s are not nearly enough for the book! This is, without a doubt, a 6 ⭐️ read for me!
I am utterly devastated….I AM NOT OKAY (in a good way) after that ending 😫. I am completely obsessed with The Broken Prophecy series. I literally CANNOT get enough of this story! I thought I was wrecked after Blooms of Darkness…No, Anna and Helen had to go and completely break me with Shadows of Ruin! But it is worth every emotion I felt while reading this exquisite book! I was completely sucked in and on the edge of my seat the entire way through. This book was every damn thing, and more!!
We are dumped right into the thick of the devastation of Lana seeing her father, the King “murdered” by the one person she thought she could love. Now she must navigate this new kingdom she finds herself in. So many secrets, lies and intrigue; even a bit of unintentional betrayal.
Lana is so smart, strong and resilient. She’s loyal to her friends, even to a fault. She would do anything to keep them safe. The growth we see in her throughout this book is absolutely breathtaking. I thoroughly enjoyed watching her grow stronger in her confidence and seeing her battle her darkness and come into her light. She is absolutely one of my favorite female characters. Kade, well what can I say about this sexy shadow daddy. He has his battles to wage within himself. I loved that we got to learn so much more about him through this book. And let’s not leave all the amazing side characters who, by the end of the book, have become this amazing little found family. And the banter, let’s just say it’s epic!!
The world that Anna and Helen have created is vivid and beautiful, while also dangerous. The characters are so beautifully crafted you can’t help but love every single one of them. I am fully invested in this series and can’t wait for what comes next because that ending left me in complete shock!! 😳
This book has every single element you want in the perfect Romantasy - enemies to lovers, morally grey MMC, strong resilient and stabby FMC, he falls first, touch her and die, found family, shadow daddy and delicious spice with, ahem shadow play 🥵🥵
Please, for the love of all the book gods, run and pick up Blooms of Darkness and then move on to Shadows of Ruin. You absolutely WILL NOT be disappointed!!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I cannot express how much I loved this book and this series as a whole. It really hope someday it becomes a movie or a show.
Helen and Anna are a dream team when it comes to creating and developing a fantasy world. This book was packed to the brim with suspense, tension, action, heartbreak, and strength. The characters are absolutely incredible and even the supporting ones have more main character energy. The magic systems are creative but understandable and the whole plot keeps you enraptured the whole way through.
Just when you think you know where the story is going a plot twist is thrown in keeping you on your toes. I also greatly appreciated the recap in the beginning of the book and the fact that the story picked right up rather than providing this huge build up again.
We get to see a deeper level to Kade and Storm and Ian this time and get to see more of their true character. Lana gets the opportunity to step into her potential as well. Plus that slow burn tension between her and Kade is delicious. It fits so beautifully into the story line and gives you all the goosebumps.
I am addicted and to this world and can’t wait for more!! Heads up it does end on the cliff hanger of all cliff hangers but it’s so worth it!
Thank you to the authors for this advanced readers copy.
This is a great sequel, I liked it even more than the first book. The fantasy elements were heightened and the plot and character development kept me engaged. I did find it was difficult to fully connect to the story, it lacked the "binge-worthy" aspect. That could just be a timing and me thing, cause otherwise I have no complaints.
This story is marketed as ACOTAR x The Bachelor, however I really feel it holds its own!
"I'm holding on by a very loose, unstable thread." "Break for me."
This book played a mean game of tug of war with my heart. So many twist and turns you didn't know what was up or down. You will meet new people, some people are keeping secrets, there's a prophecy or two or 3. Kade and Lana are endgame!
O.M.G! 😳 Review to come once I wrap my mind around what I just read. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
“Time will reveal what minds cannot. Fulfill your prophecies and spark your destiny.”
Four powerful words to describe Shadows of Ruin: • Powerful • Gripping • Intoxicating • Emotional
This story blew me away! No second book syndrome here! It’s well written and drew me in from the start. Not only did I feel a deep connection to Lana and Kade, but their found family is everything. Also, there are three POVs: Lana, Kade, and Ian!
Friendship beyond measure: I love Lana and Ian’s unbreakable, unwavering bond. They've survived unspeakable horrors together, holding each other up through it all, their friendship strengthening, never waiving. They'll do anything for each other. • “No matter what you throw at us, you’ve never broken us. I won’t break now or ever. You’ll lose.” • Bound by nothing and no one except...I’d stop at nothing to win this cursed game. Not a soul would stop me. And every last Fae, Fate, and speck of nature would pay tenfold if Lana was harmed before I got to her again.
Lana’s character continues to grow on her journey of self-discovery. Full of heart and determination, she brings out the best in everyone. • Now nothing would save me. And yet… Maybe I didn’t need to be saved. Maybe the woman I’d become while tunneling out of my own grave would save herself and destroy anyone and everyone who dared to stand in her way. • The love each one of us had for Lana pushed us forward. She may be mine, but she was also theirs. All of theirs. A woman who brought together two kingdoms just by being herself. • Even without magical abilities, she was more of a queen than any who came before her.
Kade fears the darkness within himself. His whole being longs for Lana, including his shadows, which always watch out for, comfort, and protect her. • They had a mind of their own, and I liked them far better than I liked Kade himself right now. Their weight soothed a deep part of me, allowing me to breathe in my desperate search for respite. Even if I couldn’t stand to allow myself to be with Kade in this moment, I would greedily take the relief his shadows brought.
I adore Ian, and I was so excited to read his POV. His unbreakable bond (yes, it bears repeating) with Lana is everything, and I NEED more! He is fiercely loyal and devoted to her as she is to him. • “With my dying breath, I will ensure Lana accomplishes what she needs to.” Also, I see a hint of something developing between him and a newfound family member (no spoilers), and I’m here for it!
Adding Raya and Jax, part of Kade’s found family, to the mix is brilliant! Jax has a way of lightening the mood with wit and sarcasm, and the way Raya rattles Ian, let’s just say that she gets under his skin just a bit.
Sayings: • "Little Rebel" • "Tits and daggers" • "I am Illiana Dresden, and I am stronger than the darkness within me."
Quotes: • “If you told me there was even the slightest chance I could earn your trust and heart again, Little Rebel, I’d get on my knees before you right now and claim you as mine.” • “I’d destroy this world or the next to keep you alive, Princess, prophecy or not. No Fae or creature would be safe from my wrath should they touch one strand on your head. Your life and your heart are mine.” • “You have every part of my heart. Every part of my being, Little Rebel. To do with as you wish.” • “Whatever you ask of me, my heart and my sword are yours to command.” • “There is no kingdom, no world where I am not kneeling before you as queen. You will not fail.”
Tropes/themes: • Hate to love • Fated mates • Touch her and die • Found family • Multiple POVs
This series just ruined me in the best way possible. I loved book 1 and couldn’t wait for my ARC of book 2 - it surpassed all my expectations. I love both authors and seeing their writing grow together has been amazing. The characters have such a special place in my heart now and I can’t believe we have to wait til the end of the year for the final book! Absolutely worth the wait and highly recommend 🙌
4.75 rounding up, I am OBSESSED!!! A romantasy where book 2 is even better than book 1 can be difficult to come by, especially when book one in the series has marriage trials that resemble the fae version of the bachelorette, a slow burn tension & banter filled romance, a mysterious shadow daddy, a powerful princes, incredible found family, multiple prophecies, hidden identities, plot twists & more, but when I tell you, THIS BOOK DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!!! I seriously am still thinking about this book a week later oh my gosh.
Since this is book 2, and I don't want to give spoilers, I am just going to give a few reasons why I loved this books so much. This is exactly what I want when I say I want romantasy. The authors did a beyond incredible job of expanding the world, history and lore , making the stakes even higher, and ensuring the character development and progression of the relationships was done exquisitely.
Getting right into it with the plot lines world building and history of this world; I am beyond impressed. There is so much more detail added in this installment that added so much to the plot. A lot of the history has to do with our main characters and their families and it added such a great layer because not only was the world building interesting, it was also emotionally moving as well The world felt much bigger and we got so much more context and explanations behind things that were going on.
The characters and their development in this book was also so good and really took the story up a notch. Our two main characters definitely went through it in this book and we get to know so much more about them, especially Kade and his history and it added so much to the story Although we get a lot of information about both Lana and Kade separately, I was utterly obsessed with their relationship and its growth throughout this book. Book one ends with them in a really bad place and throughout this book we watch them have to rebuild trust and work on bringing their walls down together and it was stunning....and obviously all of the tension was driving me mad in the best way lol.
Continuing on with the characters, the found family in this series is seriously top tier and we get even more characters added in this book. The authors of this series do an incredible job of making sure all of the side characters have distinct personalities and a purpose to help add to or push the plot along.
Needless to say, I absolutely adored this book and I cannot wait for the final installment of this series!!!
Oh my God, Kade!!! And this time, there are more friends! Shadows of Ruin picks up right where Blooms of Darkness left off and to read this is akin to returning home. I love how the story continues and how much more involved the cast of characters are now. While I usually struggle with having multiple narrators, there's something about the way Applegate and Domico weave it so that the narration is seamless. The narrative and plot fit the world and it contributes to the growth of the characters without dropping a knowledge bomb on the reader.
I really enjoyed the pacing, the plot, and the character development. The pacing fits very well with the sense of urgency as Lana (and the reader) learns more about the world around them. As Lana comes to terms with what has happened in Brookmere, she also has to learn about Mysthaven. At the same time, Kade has to make some choices since he has brought Lana with him to Mysthaven, and what that means for the two of them. In addition, we're treated to updates about Brookmere, courtesy of Ian!
I know this is the second installment of The Broken Prophecy, but I'm so pumped and so excited for Crowns of Fate, which will be the third book in the series. I can't wait for you to get a hold of this one and I'm so happy to have been gifted the opportunity to review this ARC. If you are a fan of magic, a strong FMC, a supportive MMC, found family, mysterious prophecies, with a dash of fates, then this series just might be for you! Also...did I mention Kade?
Thank you to Helen Domico and Anna Applegate for gifting me the opportunity to read this ARC! All opinions are my own.
Wow. This book was everything I needed to continue this series. I loved the beginning and seeing book 1’s ending from multiple views.
We have definitely embraced touch her and d!e. I honestly feel like Lana and Kade just orbit around each other at this point. I’m obsessed with their connection. I can’t wait to see how their story ends in book 3.
This book ripped my heart out, put it back together and ripped it out again and I loved every minute of it. Literally becoming one of my favorite series!
This sequel from @authorhelendomico and @authorannaapplegate in their Broken Prophecy series was SO STINKING GOOD. And y’all, our shadow daddy, Kade, is a book boyfriend that YOU NEED in your life.
In SOR, we begin right where we left off in book one (Blooms of Darkness). We have new territory, hidden identities, new found family, more prophecies, high stakes, new villains, and a romance that is so powerful and true. With no powers, Lana must figure out how she is supposed to rule her kingdom where dark magic is beginning to reign alongside our tortured MMC, Kade, who has his own secrets to be revealed. And will those secrets make or break them and, therefore, the prophecy?
I could barely set this book down- Helen and Anna truly know how to write a Romantasy! The character and relationship development was so beautiful. When I tell you that you need to meet Kade, you NEED to do so soon! I think I highlighted almost everything he ever said. 😂😂 The banter and found family was so yummy and a perfect balance for the darkness we encounter. Ian also deserves the world- I am super eager to see what our authors do for him. And I can’t wait to see what happens next after that ending!!! I’m so excited and terrified.
Tropes you may find in SOR are protective and possessive shadow daddy, elemental magic and fae, plot twists, hidden identities, forced proximity, found family, banter, high stakes, medium spice, he comforts her panic attacks, mental health rep, fated mates, one horse, and shadow play.
Once again, I am so humbled and grateful to be an arc reader for Helen and Anna. Thank you for this opportunity. It is SUCH a delight.
*ARC* I didn't think a second book would hit as much as the first, but I absolutely loved this book! The characters grow so much. I was feral for Lana and Kade's relationship this whole book!! The spice was spicing, the yearning made me keep wanting more. And the fight scenes, the growing trust, the understanding, I cannot get over how much I love these two!
And the emotional trauma of this book!!! I cried so much in this book. The deaths were so painful. My soul just couldn't handle it. I felt so much for these characters.
Ian was just an adorable idiot. Hahaha. I loved that we got his POV and I hope we get more in book 3. Cause I'm loving where his story and character building is going.
The villains in Shadows of Ruin were so delicious. I absolutely loved how evil they were. I just hated them so much, which is what I love in villains.
I need book 3 like right now!! Because that cliffhanger! I cannot take it!! I'm an emotional wreck. I need more Lana and Kade. I need more epic fights. I need more!!! I cannot wait for book 3!
Shadows or Ruin is an epic sequel to the debut romantasy, Blooms of Darkness. I devoured this book within 24 hours, I couldn't put it down! Book 1 ends with Illiana feeling betrayed, heartbroken, and drowning in grief. She can no longer trust those around her, including Kade Blackthorn, the broody shadow daddy who stole her heart.
I just loved all the tension in this sequel. Despite feeling betrayed, Illiana cannot deny her feelings toward Kade, try as she might. But even with those feelings, she doesn't relent and does everything she can to get back to her kingdom to save her people. I really love how strong and resilient she is. The angst and tension between her and Kade was so well done. I enjoyed seeing their bond stregthen as secrets were unraveled and they got to know each other on a deeper level. The slow burn was sooooo delicious.
New POVs were added and I loved getting other's perspectives! There's also a few new side characters that add banter to the story, which I am always obsessed with good banter. All of the side characters are so loveable and intriguing. There's the best sense of found family in this series!
The world building is expanded and we learn so much more about their world and the dark secrets it holds. Anna and Helen did such a fantastic job creating this vivid world.
The ending RUINED me, y'all! I am still unwell thinking about it. Good thing book 3's release date has already been announced because it's a NEED. This series seriously delivers everything and more you want in an epic romantasy.
Read this if you love: • Enemies to Lovers • Morally Grey MMC • Found Family • Fierce & Stabby FMC • Shadow Daddyyyy • Prophecies • Hidden Itentities • Forced Proximity / One Horse • Touch her and 💀
Thank you Anna & Helen for the eARC to read and review! I adored this book and these opinions are my own.
Well once again they did it. Wrote a masterpiece. This book has everything.
Lana ends up in a world she didn't know existed following the death of her father, with the person who she had opened her hear to, who betrayed her. This new world had so many new challenges. The king here is evil and she wanted to get back to save her friends. Could she trust Kade and his friends. Could she forgive him and let him back him. Could she save...him?
This book had so much plot and character development. All the characters had so much growth and the story really unraveled in a way that was just amazing. You don't want to put the book down and it was just everything. Lana and Kade are amazing and even the new characters you become attached to and they too have their own story and growth. The writing is brilliant, the story and characters are amazing. I just hope my heart can handle book 3 because the ending here may have destroyed me.
If you like enemies to lovers, found family, shadow daddy and shadow play, spice, magic, shifters, prophecies, evil and darkness, mates, witty banter and pet names, mental health rep, then pick up this series and read it now. You will not be disappointed.
Helen and Anna have left me speechless... There is something to be said about the way they write their books. I felt like I was in every scene and felt every emotion. I don’t know how to process this ending. They have me questioning what the hell is going to happen now. Kade is everything I want/need in a shadow MMC. Lana is one of the strongest FMCs not because she is all powerful but because of the shit she went through and has overcome. this ending has me needing more asap!
It picks up right where Blooms of Darkness ends and takes you on a ride. I loved exploring Mysthaven and seeing more of Kade's life there. You get to know his circle of friends and what exactly they're doing for their rebellion.
So much more mystery explored based on who is pulling the strings. Plus, we got Ian's POV, so you still get to see what is going on back in Brookmere and that was fun! Although poor Ian...he's not having a great time.
There were some emotional parts and some spicy parts (this is a man who knows how to wield his shadows...although they MIGHT have some thoughts of their own- peep that bonus chapter)
Ends on a big cliffhanger and boy are we gonna be in for it for the finale!
Read if you love: -Fae -Morally grey shadow MMC -Dagger wielding/stabby FMC -Secret Prophecies -Spicy shadow play
Thank you to the authors for the eARC. My thoughts are entirely my own. Finish date: 2/26/25, Release date 3/25/25
“Whatever you ask of me, my heart and my sword are yours to command.”
This book is everythingggg. A few words that come to mind are: wow, phenomenal, exceptional, heart-wrenching, overwhelming, broken, sorrowful, rage, and hopeful. It has been awhile since a book has taken me on such an intense emotional journey. Every aspect of this book was perfection.
Anna and Helen possess a unique magic in their writing that instantly captivates readers, making us fall in love with their MCs while vehemently hating the villains. I found myself in tears so many times, yet I was also smiling and cheering for our favorite characters (you guys are going to love the new characters). The parallels between Lana and Kade's childhood experiences were eye-opening, and witnessing their journey to uncover hidden truths throughout the kingdoms was captivating. If you appreciate a book that evokes a full spectrum of emotions from beginning to end, this series neeeeeds to be added to your TBR!

Favorite Quote: "You have every part of my heart. Every part of my being, Little Rebel. To do with as you wish." 🎬
This is the 2nd book in the Broken Prophecies Series. If you have not read Blooms of Darkness (Book 1) yet, RUN now and start reading that one first, it's Amazing!
Shadows of Ruin (Book 2) picks up right where we left off in Blooms and you dive straight in with no parachute, y'all! This book brings back all your favorite side characters and introduces some new ones. Truth be told I am kinda crushing on JAX right now! 👀 Jax is hilarious and such a fun character. He gives me RIDOC vibes. If you know you know! 😍
Lana and Kade's (Our MMC & FMC) tension is intense. As their story continues you see Kade open up more and Lana learns the real truth about what happened to her father before she was taken from her home. The connection between Lana and Kade grows. The things this man does with his Shadows, have mercy on my soul. Kade shows Lana what he will do to win her love and trust back. Absolutely loved this book, and in the last half of it, I was not prepared for the cliffhanger of that ending. I am unwell!! Looking forward to book 3 releasing in December 2025.
This book is easily a top read of 2025. Anna and Helen knocked it out of the park, AGAIN!
Shadows of Ruin owned me in every way. You go into this book not knowing how things are going to be fixed or if they can be and let me just tell you - buckle up baby, and get ready for this ride!
I felt the anger and heartbreak Illiana was feeling. The pain characters endured. The happiness and laughter when they were able to get a little reprieve.
I cried at least 3 times reading this book and when I finished I just sat there like wtf just happened. You know I love that type of damage.
Kade Blackthorne!!! This book destroyed me in the best way. I need a recovery program after this book. I had to sit with this book for a minute before I wrote my review.
This was so good. Better than the 1st one even. I love the characters and the banter between them. I felt there was alot of personal growth in this one for both Lana and Kade. We also get to see into Kade's past.
Be warned. This one does end on a cliff hanger. And it will definitely leave you wanting for more! Give me more of Kade pleassseee.
“I’d destroy this world or the next to keep you alive, Princess, prophecy or not. No Fae or creature would be safe from my wrath should they touch one strand on your head. Your life and your heart are mine.”
OMG, wow! I have no idea where to start after that ending. I freaking loved this book and couldn't put it down (when the family decided they didn't want to talk to me 🙄😂)
Shadows of Ruin is everything you want in a sequal. This book picks up from where book one, Blooms of darkness left off.
Illiana is fierce and strong and doesn't let the fact that she has no magic stop her from protecting those she loves. She's angry and hurt after Kades betrayal and is determined to fight him every step of the way.
Kade desperately wants Lana to believe that there's a reason behind what he did, and in return, he is too, determined that she listens to his reasoning.
This book takes you on a journey to a new world where prophecies are revealed, found family is discovered, and a new evil that ties both worlds together becomes known.
If you enjoy enemies to lovers, banter, tension, and found family, then this series is for you. I can't recommend this series enough.
I honestly can not find the proper words as I sit here and stare into space yet again. Anna and Helen have created something so different than anything I’ve read in years. Their unique elements draw you in while the storytelling absolutely consumes the mind. Book One caught my attention but this book has absolutely set this series as a gold standard. There is found family, witty banter, diverse plots, some absolutely delicious spice, and a fmc who is fierce in finding her place in the world. Every single minute set in their fae lands is an adventure I never want to be over. This is a top 3 book for me and will accept no criticism. lol Little Rebel forever 💜⚔️ Be forewarned the last line will break you in the best way.
Two Kingdoms, two interconnected prophecies, and a spreading darkness. Lana’s world has been turned upside down as she’s been taken by the man she thought she could trust. Now she must figure out how to save her kingdom while working with the man who betrayed her.
Of course, I loved this book! The first one was my top read in 2024 so naturally I couldn’t wait to dive in. The growth in Lana is astonishing, I love her journey to come into her own power, to trust her worth, trust her mind. Kade being open to love, getting to see different sides of all of the friendships and new connections forming. Did this book also devastate me? Yes. That last line is something! But trust me, it’s worth it.
This series needs to be spread like wildfire, it's sooo good! Tell everybody!! 5/5 yet again from The incredible duo Anna & Helen ❤️
Shadows Of Ruin continues right where we left off in Blooms of Darkness...
Kade and Storm are headed to Mysthaven with Lana. She just witness her father (not her father) the King killed by the man she loves Kade. Now taken by him to a place that shouldn't exist, how is she going to ever forgive him? The banter and tension because of this keeps you reeled in and on your toes. I DEVOURED it! One of my favorite book couples.
Lana is such a strong female character , I have truly enjoyed watching her grow stronger in her confidence and battle the darkness within her. She's grown to be one of my favorite FMC. Kade is the dream Shadow Daddy, he's strong he's powerful , mysterious and he's sexy. This man has his own internal battles as well, which we get to learn so much about in this book. I loved getting to learn about who he is and his found family. I adore his friend group, I could see myself just going on the adventure with all of them. The sibling like bickering lightens some of the dark moods thru the book. I couldn't put the book down scared to miss what happened next, I was invested and felt apart of the adventures. The characters are very dimensional and relatable. I felt so much thru this book. And don't let me forget about some of that Shadow play , those Shadows are something else ;) This book is an adventure , you'll be laughing, crying, swooning, and shocked! That ending will have you flipping the pages wanting more!
Arc review: 5⭐️ Seriously y’all, I am not ok. The story that begins in Blooms of Darkness continues in Shadows of Ruin. This book was intense and kept me up late because I didn’t want to put it down! I adore the fmc. She’s very brave, resilient and loves with all of her heart. The mmc is perfect and I could go on and on about him but seriously just read this series! There’s battles, villains, kidnapping, betrayal, torture, magic, shifters and some delicious naughty time 😈 The ending has me screaming because now I have to wait for the next one but it will be worth it. Blooms of Darkness is available now and Shadows of Ruin releases 3/25 but is available for preorder now! Thank you @authorannaapplegate and @authorhelendomico for letting me read your arc! What a ROLLERCOASTER this was! Such a good second book for the series. We learned so much, so many secrets, prophecies, new characters, character growth, characters we love, characters we hate. So many swoony moments, spice 🥵, tears, throwing the book at the wall (just me?). The freaking cliffhangerrrrrr. So very highly recommend this series!!
