The Playboy Billionaire

Rate this book
A chance encounter in New York with a gorgeous stranger. A night of unbridled passion, that was never supposed to matter.

I live for the rhythm, the passion, the raw energy of dance. My studio is more than a business—it's my heart and soul. But when a ruthless property developer threatens to demolish it all, I'm ready for battle.

Frustrated by unanswered emails and rejected calls, I decide to confront the billionaire face-to-face. Imagine my shock when he turns out to be Caleb Frazer—the same man who swept me off my feet months ago, only to wake up alone.

Caleb is the epitome of tall, dark, and handsome, with a body sculpted by the gods themselves. He's a smooth operator known for conquering every challenge, both in the boardroom and the bedroom. But he's about to meet his match.

He may have rocked my world between the sheets, but I won't let him destroy my dreams or my community without a fight. This means war.

As we clash, the line between desire and ambition blurs. Our explosive chemistry is undeniable, but so are the stakes. With my lifelong dream hanging in the balance and his reputation on the line, we're caught in a dangerous dance of passion and power.

Will we choose the deal of a lifetime or the chance at forever?

A steamy, billionaire, opposites attract, forced proximity, he falls first, standalone romance.

The Playboy Billionaire is Book 2 in the Frazer Family Series. Although this is a standalone. It’s recommended you read the books in order, for an improved reading experience.

I DNF’d the book around 70%. The fact that April is so afraid Caleb will find out she stripped is ridiculous! He’s a playboy for goodness sake! He’s no doubt been with strippers! I’m also finding the story line to just drag and now this drama with being an ex stripper and a guy recognizing and harassing her has me rolling my eyes. I liked the previous book a lot more!

I LOVED this book! The Mental Health/trauma rep, the banter, the character development and the overall love of a found and lost family made me cry happy tears!!! April accomplished and conquered so much in her life and her character hit home with me. The HEA is always amazing and a well fought win for the two love birds.

It started off just fine, but around 70ish% the FMC just got stupid. There were also key phrases WAY overused. I think this book could have been reduced by 50% and still the same story. Just wasn’t for me even though I finished it.

The Playboy Billionaire

The characters in this book were interesting and it had a sweet love story; however, the plot was lacking. The story line kept going round and round without a clear conflict and climax. The ending was just a little blah.

In a world of campy romance novels with weird titles that make you embarrassed to pick them up, I actually loved this book. Do not judge a book on this cover... Inside is a sleeper of a great story. (Yes, I used this line in my last review and yes, it is still valid.)

As someone who is a huge fan of Catharina Maura and the Windsor series, these books feel like "Windsor lite". The MMCs of the Frazer Family are very much like the Windsors, but honestly, I love them more because of how real they are. Gabriel is neurodivergent, Caleb is insecure about how he is seen in the world (and to women), Elliott is too shy to go after what he wants, etc. I absolutely love how these boys are human and not gods to look up to.

A solid 4.5 rounded up because tbh I love the world that Zoe Dod has created.

What's Inside ↴

✨ Billionaires
✨ Black Cat x Golden Retriever
✨ "I can do it all alone" FMC
✨ "Yes, you can, but I want to support you anyway" MMC

Pros ↴

✨ I love the foster family/found family representation in this. April is the perfect "it takes a village character" and I love how easy she takes to accepting help from her "family" vs Caleb because he is rich. It felt very realistic to show how long it took her to let him in enough to help her out. Her character arc was treated really well and I loved watching her grow.

✨ Caleb, bb, you deserved a woman like April coming into your life. He was so shameless about his extracurricular life in The Donor Billionaire that I was honestly shocked to see him turn it around so fast after April. But the more I read and tried to put myself in his shoes, the more I could see that he was like that because he had almost given up on finding someone who would love him beyond his name. I loved watching him grow too and also loved how realistic it was that he fell so hard, so fast. Him continuing to be like "I know this is fast and intense" made me laugh because OF COURSE someone who finally found what he wanted would go from 0 to 60 trying to make sure she knew he saw her as special. Just bulldoze your way through instead of wondering "am I scaring her off?" like a normal person, Caleb, keep going. It was great.

✨ The story itself was full of drama WITHOUT other women (you'd think a playboy would get lots of angry exes causing drama with April). Honestly the most refreshing part was that the majority of the story focused on April's journey and there were really no points of jealousy, OW drama, etc. It was drama centered around her circumstances, her community, etc. It was so nice to not follow the standard romance novel playbook. I actually was nervous in the beginning because Caleb was a little jealous of her best friend and was like, "oh no, another jealousy story from the dude who has slept with half of London" and instead, got a refreshing, jealousy-free book.

✨ We finally learned more of Elijah's story!! I am so excited to read his book next. He is the most interesting of the brothers, even though Gabriel is forever my fave Frazer.

Cons ↴

✨ I was not a fan of the third act "love reveal". It was not on the same level of Twisted Love which made me want to DNF, but it def felt a little bit of an unrealistic wrap up. The entire back 10% of the book where Caleb is

↯↯↯↯↯↯↯

Don't take life too seriously! 5 star books for me are a fun ride, not the next great American (or in this case, British) novel. Caleb and April's story is a great one of resilience and being patient waiting for the right person to walk into your life and I loved every second of it.

The Playboy Billionaire by Zoe Dod is a captivating second installment in the Frazer Family series that masterfully combines steamy romance with deeper emotional themes. The story follows Caleb Frazer, a charismatic billionaire known for his playboy reputation, and April, a passionate dancer fighting to save her beloved dance studio from a ruthless property developer.

Caleb truly steals the show with his remarkable patience and unwavering willingness to wait for April as she works through her abandonment issues. His steady support and genuine care add significant emotional depth to the novel, making their romance feel authentic and heartfelt. Caleb’s character breaks the typical billionaire mold by showing vulnerability and a readiness to put April’s needs first, which is both refreshing and compelling.

A standout aspect of the book is its warm portrayal of found family and a supportive community. April’s fight to save her dance studio is not just about preserving a business but about protecting a space that nurtures connection and belonging. The theme of found family resonates throughout the story, emphasizing how love and support can come from unexpected places and become a vital source of strength for the characters.

The dynamic between Caleb and April is charged with opposites-attract tension, enhanced by forced proximity and the trope of "he falls first," which adds to the romantic suspense. Their chemistry is electric, yet the narrative never loses sight of the emotional growth both characters experience individually and together.

In summary, The Playboy Billionaire is a heartwarming and engaging romance that balances steamy passion with meaningful emotional exploration. Caleb’s patience and April’s resilience, set against the backdrop of a tight-knit community, make this a memorable read for fans of billionaire and opposites-attract romances.

This was another hit from Zoe Dod! A clear 4,5 stars for me.

I didn't expect Caleb (the MMC) to be such a mature character - just based on the premise of him being a known playboy -, caring and down to earth. His relationship with his family is very sweet. I loved how respectful he was to April.
And April was also a very mature, strong and independent FMC! Loved her friend Samuel and foster parents, it just showed me how headstrong she always had to be.

Their relationship felt very honest and actually built from the ground up over time and actual conversations. It was an easy read and very engaging.

I definitely can't wait for Elijah's book!

Caleb is April’s knight in shining armor

Loved Caleb and April’s story. He won me over in the first book, with his wit and charm. He brought that and so much more here. April and Caleb come together when Caleb is taking over and rebuilding a section of the city where April runs a business and where she works with the community to help support and encourage kids to have a safe and healthy environment. When things with the takeover threaten April’s business and living space, Caleb steps in to give her a place to stay while he works on alternative solutions for her and her business. That’s when the fun begins. These two characters burn up the pages and found a place in my heart. They are both sweet, fun and sexy. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I did really enjoy this one but not as much as Gabriel and Leah's story. I liked how Caleb showed he had a lot more depth than the man whore we saw in book one. I found it a bit far-fetched that in this day and age neither April or her friend Samuel had looked up the company on the internet where they would obviously have seen a photograph of Caleb and recognised him it's not 1975. It is, however, a plot device☺️

Bearing in mind Elijah's reactions to Leah in book one and calling her a gold digger his reaction to April in this book was interesting, does this mean he's learned his lesson? I look forward to reading his story next.

Thank you so much Zoe for sending me an ARC copy of the Playboy Billionaire. After enjoying the donor billionaire a lot, I was counting the days for this and then having it early in my inbox >>>

I loved Caleb and Aprils chemistry and truly felt like they made each other better. Seeing them both change for the better 🥹 I loved that April finally had someone who was always there for her after everything she went trough.

“But if you need me, call. I’ll be here in a heartbeat, or we can talk. I’m here for you. You’re not alone”

Would definitely recommend <3

Since I read the first book, I needed to read about Caleb story. I enjoyed how everything works between April and Caleb, especially when Caleb realize that he’s in love with her and he makes everything posible for her to make her dreams come true and never give up about those dreams.
It was easy to read with spice, it was the perfect amount to enjoy the story.
Now I want to read about Elijah, I’m so excited for the next book✨✨

Thank you so much booksirens for this ARC and I’m leaving my review voluntarily

Challenging!

This author really wrote a story that endears you to this couple and the challenges they both face in order to have their HEA. April is a dance teacher who has had to fight for everything she has all her life and Caleb is the total opposite, rich, good looking and from a supportive family . They meet and you then get a front row seat to the adventure of their life as they navigate what can go wrong does. There is light at the end of their tunnel. Read and find out . Enjoy!

I really liked this book. It had more mystery, drama and secrets than the others. But the reader in me that likes details and logic can't just forget about a tremendous mistake.

As we all know, Lottie is not Elijah biological child. And when he says that he gave Darra everything just so he could adopt Lottie, it doesn't make sense. because, he was supposed to be Lottie's father so legally, the government believes that that baby was his. If he was legally Lottie's father, why does he have to adopt her? it doesn't work that way.

I loved this book for the most part. April really irritated me until 3/4s of the way through. She was so nasty not to just Caleb but everyone. Im sorry people offering to help is such a huge deal, and she couldn't just be nice and say thank you. I do understand why as the story went on but it got old fast. I love the way it ended and how it all came together. Caleb is awesome. Now, Elijah's story is going to be interesting.

What a fantastic read! Once I started reading this book I didn't want to put it down. The storyline pulled me in from the start and held my interest all the way through. The characters are wonderfully developed and you could feel the chemistry between them. I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I did.

awesome

Loved this book! Story of Caleb and April! I loved how Caleb the playboy fell first, hard too! Made sense with Aprils character with all that she had been through how mistrusting she was, but how she falls too! Great to see all the family characters coming more to the forefront as it’s fun to learn more about each one and looking forward to Elijah’s story next!

Caleb and April

I love a good can't be with anyone else because they aren't the FMC/MMC plotline. Especially when the MC is a player. I enjoyed Caleb and April's story quite a bit. Looking forward to Pen and Elijah's story (seems he learned his lesson on how he treated Leah too).

good but incomplete

I would give it a 5 star but these books stop too soon. Not saying that cause “I don’t want it to end, but you don’t get to see the end. The end is set up then it leads into the next book. I read Gabriel’s and it annoyed me, now this is truly frustrating. Finish the dang story!

sAnother Excellentbook by this Wonderful Author!

This is all about a woman named April Cal. It is a Wonderful story, full of feelings and Love. Yes, there is plenty of angst, but it fits well with the story line. There is also some overthinking, butit does not interrupt or interfere with the story. I REALLY enjoyed it, and I think YOUNwill too!

Another great read from Zoe. Couldn't put it down.

Once again a nice romantic story, with spice and a strong woman as the main character. (With insecurities due to her past). Hard to put it down. Can't wait to read the next one.

just ok

I really enjoyed the first book and was excited for the second. I feel like the story dragged on and as very repetitive of the heroine being stubborn and the hero constantly trying to make her happy and her not being 50/50. Looking forward to Elijah’s book.

Really good book

This series is really good...
The only downside is that the punctuation is really bad: Way too many periods, when commas should have been used. And when commas WERE
used, they were in the wrong places.

It was very distracting.
