Think this is an excellent book for someone recently diagnosed with diabetes. There was tons of information on managing the disease, warning signs to watch out for and even how to read nutrition labels in the grocery store when searching for ingredients. The recipes are plentiful and look very flavorful. For someone that is not much of a cook some of the recipes look difficult while others are simple and more my speed. Looking forward to trying some of the harder ones once I get more confidence in the kitchen
Very good book on type 2 diabetes and what foods are good to eat.
I liked the recipes in this book. The chia pudding recipes and the 60 day meal plan were my favorite part. Makes it so easy to find a taste meal idea without scouring the internet for hours. I don't have someone that has diabetes but I do have a few people that have very negative reactions to eating sugar. And this book helped alot.
This book at first made me ask where are the recipes? Then I realised as an Assistant in Nursing that this explanation on Type 2 Diabetes was well explained and made me consider factors that I wish I understood since I have also worked in the kitchen to know residents diets since I worked in a nursing home. This book covered so much of an explanation that I enjoyed it. Then the recipes made so much sence and the images helped support each recipe.
I tried three recipes from the book for my breakfast and dinner. I must say the foods are yummy and my sons like it. The recommendations are healthy and low/no carbo. Easy to follow instructions and with photos, make it fun to follow the book. Great job Raevn.
I like the purpose and review of why such recipes are important, how they help control type 2 diabetes, etc. The recipes also look delicious. often there is a fear that you will miss out on tasty foods, but the recipes in the book seem to answer that delimma.
