Rodney gets his story! What a hoot Rodney is. This was an amazing quick story where we see Rodney shift, we get his back story, and he meets the love of his life. Gideon is on the run but he's lost his memory and somehow ends up at the Midnight Rodeo where is meets untrusting Gideon. When the bad guys coming looking for Gideon, Rodney finds out he has more support and friends than he ever imagined.

The one-eyed rooster that has been a menace to the rodeo finally gets his story! Rodney is patrolling the rodeo grounds when he sees a stranger acting oddly but is wearing a patch from the Red Wattle Clan (RWC). The stranger, Gideon, been in some sort of accident and has lost his memory. Rodney is instantly on guard and worried – he is sure Gideon has been sent there to kill him. I very much enjoyed how the story played out and loved learning Rodney’s story.

The book was okay. There is such a difference between this author and the other two for the series that it feels like they don't take place in the same universe. Still, it was good just not great.
