Reflection: This was a very heartwarming and sad story about a gorilla named, Ivan who is kept in a cage at a mall. Ivan uses his artistic talents to try to free the baby elephant who is being mistreated. I highly recommend this book for a 2nd or 3rd grade classroom as a read aloud.

This was a great read to help the kiddo with some of the themes in this book. I appreciate how it broke down the different layers and some meanings - for a child's book it can be pretty insightful.
