Wolves of Lunara #2

A Crown of Fates

Rate this book
Fated mates are a lie.

I’ve been summoned by a king. One too lazy to get off his throne and go look for his mate. Instead, he’s requesting that all unmated females from each of the four kingdoms come to him. You know, because that’s so much easier.

Much to my dismay, I’m forced to go to Selaris and what I hope will be a quick trip, turns into something else entirely.

King Theo is supposedly my mate. Just my freaking luck.

Yet, there’s something off with our bond. No, with him. I don’t know what it is and I’m not certain what to do, but I’m sure the hell going to find out. Because there’s one thing that I know for sure…

I won’t be used as anyone’s pawn. Not even for a mate.

This is the second standalone novel written within the Wolves of Lunara series. If you love wolf shifters, romantic fantasy, gods, fated mates, reincarnation, and so much more, then you don't want to miss this one!

I did like the first half of the book and how the male character was obsessed and would do anything for the female character but then it got so boring and repetitive to the point that I skimmed through the last chapters . It didn't help that there wasn't much world building . The villain didn't make me scared for our main characters so when the MMC and FMC got together there wasn't much to keep me interested. I didn't like the way the fated mates trope was executed ; the main characters had no chemistry.

A Crown of Fates is the 2nd standalone book in The Wolves of Lunara Series. Heather writes in such a beautiful way and has once again written another absolutely cracking romantasy.

The FMC Estee is a reincarnated princess from book 1, A Curse of Shadows (Isla and Asher's story). Estee (being the princess she was) was reluctant to travel to the MMC Theo's Kingdom, thinking of him as lazy and arrogant for not undertaking the travel himself. This immediately has Estee's back up, before she even arrives in his Kingdom.

What follows includes;

🐺 Wolf Shifter Standalone
🐺 A Kingdom in Need of Saving
🐺 Fated Mates
🐺 Romantasy
🐺 Found Family
🐺 Mystery
🐺 A God to Vanquish
🐺 Dual POV

Estee was such a strong character and it was endearing as the story unfolded to watch her support Theo in his role as King. The connection they shared was so precious and their love story intoxicating.

The epilogue hinted about whom the third book, A Reign of Malice, would centre around, and I can't wait until I can feast my greedy eyes on it.

If you like fast paced, dual POV, angst filled suspenseful, enthralling and heart pounding action, with shifter romantasy, I highly recommend you don't get lost along the way and portal yourself straight into Selaris 💖🐺👑❤️‍🔥🫶

A Crown of Fates is the second book in Heather Renee's Wolves of Lunara series, and this time, it follows Isla's sister. The book was fantastic! The plot completely took me by surprise, and I loved the characters.

Estee and Theo are flawed characters who have built their walls incredibly high and for good reason. I admire Estee even when she aggravated the heck out of me. She has been torn down again and again yet manages to build herself back up. Poor Theo has been unbelievably broken, but he still finds a way to carry on. He's made some mistakes, but he really is good even though he made a few mistakes. When he finally revealed what he'd been hiding, my heart broke for him. Theo and Estee worked so well because they were more alike than they realized.

This book was steeped in mystery. In the beginning, I didn't know what was going on. There was a feeling of unease, something hinky was going on, but I couldn't put my finger on what. Nothing was making sense, and I loved it. It was that feeling of the unknown that drew me in deeper. Then there were the plot twists. They rolled in one after another, each one more shocking than the last. Heather kept me on my toes, anticipating the next thing. I loved it. Crown of Fates was spectacular.

I adore Theo and Estee! ❤️‍🔥

What a wonderful love story Heather delivered through this fantastic book! 😍
Theo and Estee had faced pain and hardships in their past, that could have turned into obstacles to get a better future, but finding each other as true mates changed everything! 🤗🥰
They are each other light and strength, they complement each other perfectly and this union is what makes all the difference in the battle to come! 🙌🏻💪🏻
I loved and enjoyed every minute of this story and can't wait to read what Sloane will face in the next and final book! ❤️

This book was so good. And Estee was not my favorite character from Crown of Shadows! I loved Isla more. However, Estee really grows up in this book. Her compassion for the orphans in the pack of Selaris is so heartwarming. With the last life she lived she understands what these children are going through. At least Isla & Estee had foster parents. These kids only have each other to rely on & a ruined building for shelter. Until Estee learns about it. I also loves how she instantly forms a friendship with Drea. Those two were meant to be friends. I feel so bad for Theo! He’s been through so much. And no one understands because he’s afraid to confide in anyone. Plus the god that’s tormenting him won’t leave him alone. He’s made Theo into a puppet to do the god’s bidding. Theo has lost everyone he ever loved & cared for. All so this god can manipulate & control him at his lowest point of his life. His pack is suffering because to Theo he’d be better off dead than their king. In his mind he didn’t earn it. But Theo needs to learn that this god isn’t telling him the truth about everything. On top of that Theo doesn’t realize his own strengths. Theo just needed some people to trust & his mate. When it’s time to tackle this god they get a lot of help. Queen Sloane comes to help them plan it. I love her character because as a single queen she is rare but fierce. And Elyn the elder wolf plays her part again. The mystery of her grows because we learn she knows Aurora. In fact, Aurora gives Elyn some of her powers. There is an interesting dynamic between the two that will leave you guessing. I love that once again the king & queen don’t follow normal customs when it comes to bonding. There is a happy ever after but it will leave you wondering, at what price?

Stunning twists and turns that will keep you intrigued and positively glued to this bewitching book! As the clock ticks down on the kingdom, which has fallen into disrepair, only a queen can arrive to unmask the lurking dangers and bring light to the shadowy halls.

I absolutely loved Estee from the first book, A Curse of Shadows, which is another standalone in the series. Estee is determined and fiercely guards her heart and those around her whom she's decided to befriend. She's the perfect warrior to rescue the day.

King Theo is set adrift, and when things seem their darkest, a light arrives to guide him. He has to rise above his fears to make peace with his past in order to be worthy of his throne and his mate. And he quickly becomes a man to drool over.

You'll be hooked from the very first page!

I was so excited to get to read the second book in this series. The books can be read out of order but I think it helps to read them in order just to not have any spoilers.
This book follows Isla, the heroine from book one’s sister Estee and Theo, a wolf king from another kingdom in the same fantasy realm as book one. This book has the characters and gods from book one with some new characters and gods to contend with in a whole new story with a fiery heroine. This book definitely reaches into the darkest aspects of our characters and pushes them to grow both together and individually a lot. I enjoyed this romantasy, the world building, story and the romance was on point. I can’t wait to read the third book.

I love the latest story in the wolves of Lunara world. Heather Renee does such a great job building the tension between the MCs while slowly teasing us with the mystery of what is really happening at Selaris.
I love how strong mentally Estee is, with quotes like this:
“Just remember what you used to tell yourself every morning while getting ready for the day: Everything is always working out for me, and I’m on the path that benefits my highest good.”
And her strength is exactly what Theo needs when he feels trapped.

If you love stories about shifters, mysteries, and a paranormal romance with a happily ever after, I recommend you read this book!

Poor Estee - her sister ( Queen Isla) is sending her to another territory to see if she is King Theo's mate. She doesn't want a mate and certainly not King Theo. Two days on a ship is not high on her list of adventures.
Theo needs to find his mate and produce a heir. Only then will his curse be broken and gain his freedom from Orix.  Will this batch of women from other kingdoms bring his mate?
When these two meet is very interesting
They will make you laugh and wonder if they will ever get together.  (Of course Orix may have something to do with that). Read the book and enjoy their story.

Amazing

A Crown of Fates is such an amazing addition to the Wolves of Lunara series. Heather continues to create a world that you just get lost in with characters you can’t help but love. This book was so hard to put down, I was so engrossed in Estee and Theo’s story. Fate has one plan and the gods have another, you see the strength, love and determination between Estee and Theo not only save each other but their pack. Definitely an emotional roller coaster of twists and unexpected turns, but so worth the ride. I cannot wait to see what happens in the in the third book, those gods have something up their sleeves.

Another mystery ride with the Wolves of Lunara. This time, we dive into Estee and King Theo's relationship. Will Estee believe in the bond that her and Theo have? Will she deny the bond because it's not as strong as she knows mates bonds should be? We learn that the lesser God Orix has a hold on Theo until his revenge plot isn't going as planned. King Theo and Princess Estee take us on their journey to show us how second chances can bring you together and give you a new perspective on life. Their life, the packs life, and the life of Selaris.

The series just keeps gerring better!

I always hoped we would get Estee's story after meeting her in A Curse of Shadows. Seeing her reluctantly embrace a fate she was destined for was so much fun. I love how passionate she is about the people of Selaris before she was a part of that kingdom. Theo has an amazing redemption arc. He went from so broken to so strong and came to terms with his past and all the mistakes he made. The teaser at the end for the next book makes me want to know what is going on with the last two kingdoms and to get to know Queen Sloane.

queen estee

I didn’t think anything could top the first book but this one was amazing! Estee is such a strong kick ass female. I know these books are technically standalone but I highly recommend reading in order. In the first book you fall in love with estees strength and loyalty. In this one you see so much more from her and it makes me love her even more. Theo starts of and you think weak tamlin vibes at first -the horror- but no! Not is all is as it seems and the twists and turns are jaw dropping.

This is the second book I've read by Heather. I absolutely love her style. I'm quickly becoming a huge fan. Definitely plan on reading every one of her books this year.

Estee is a little spit fire, but she is definitely so loving and does everything in her power to help everyone.
Theo is damaged but does everything in his power to win Estee.
What is keeping her from knowing why she doesn't know her connection to Theo? Is he her true mate? Is some dark force keeping her from knowing the truth?

Estee is such a loveable character. Estee is protective and brave. Theo redeems himself as we discover more about his past and I couldn’t help but love them both. A god has his claws on Theo but can Estee help Theo and save their country as well? The dual POV and fast pace read certainly made this an addicting listen. The epilogue left me eager to find out what happens next!! Bridget Bordeaux, and Jake Bordeaux's duet narration had me hooked till the very end. The tones and inflections were great.

A very special thanks to the author for the gifted audiobook.

DNF it’s listed as a standalone but you shouldn’t read it as one - too much that doesn’t make any sense which you have no background for because it’s all in the first book

it is not a standalone.

i enjoyed the descriptive writing, the author really knows how to describe the area that the characters are in and helps visualise clothing and appearances. that was the only thing i enjoyed with this book.

the MMC felt shallow, very golden retriever when there is supposed to be this dark cloud above him. the FMC was nice, i enjoyed her and i think she was written well.

Book 2 in Wolves of Lunara series

A captivating fated mates fantasy romance packed with wolf shifters, secrets, sacrifice, trust, redemption, and love. This book has twists and impossible choices, but it also has love on all the pages. I love the series, and this book specifically ensnared me.

Detailed world building. Strong, lovable characters.

This is the second book in the The Wolves of Lunara series, and it has many twists and turns. What seemed so simple at the beginning, turns into an epic story of redemption and salvation as both King Theo and Princess Esse fight to save not only their mating bond but the whole country from a God bent on destruction. This is a very easy book to read but you need to ensure you have read the first book in the series to gain a full understanding of many of the characters. Highly recommend

This is not my go to genre. I read book 1 on a whim and I couldn’t believe how enthralling the story was!!! Normally book 2s don’t do it for me, but, Hold. My . Phone. - Estee and Theo’s story was unlike anything I have read before!! Between their bond, the dark magic, and everything in between I was blown away! Seriously what an incredible world that was built by this author! I will keep coming back again and again!

Soooo good!

I loved this book so much. 😭

Estee and Theo are just perfect for each other. They balance each other out so well. ❤️

I adore Theo and I love how much he loves Estee and wants to be better for her. He’s so precious.

And Estee is so strong and I love how she’s not afraid to say exactly what she thinks.

This book was filled with so many twists, I couldn’t put it down!

This series is a must read!

I am so happy to have another story in this world! And this one is Estee and Theo’s story. And things aren’t as they seem. Estee and Theo are mates but Estee does not feel good about being mates to a lazy spoiled king. But is this really all Theo is? Or even any of who he is? Get ready for lots of sass and banter along with a great development of these characters. I had so much fun reading this one! The story kept me wanting to know more and find out what would happen next.

“A Crown of Fates” is another excellent book in the series, Wolves of Lunara. Estee and Theo's story is full of so much excitement; you won't be able to put it down. I have been looking forward to Estee's story and Heather Renee wrote it so well. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the series. A quick note: this is a standalone in the series but I feel it helps to read the first book, “A Curse of Shadows” first.

good

I was so happy to finally read Estee’s story. I liked her in the first book and I thought it was great that I got to know more about her in this book. Even though she didn’t want to be a queen, she ended up being one anyway. even though Theo was being manipulated by a God I still liked him, especially when he figured out that Estee was his mate and he ended up telling her the truth about himself. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

I love this addition to Lunara! Estee is a reincarnated princess from book 1 who is summoned to Selaris and this is her story. It is a standalone with fun cameos.

Theo is a lazy, absent king who is driving his kingdom into the ground. Turns out he is Estee’s fated mate. Maybe he’s not so lazy after all.

There’s angst, snark, shifters, and magic. Gods are meddling and the world building is incredible. Most importantly, there’s a happily ever after. I loved it.

Estee's and Theo's story is a perfect. Estee is so strong, stubborn, fierce, yet so loving, protective, and has so much love to share. Theo has so much to overcome but he is soo strong inner strength he doesn't even realize till her finds Estee his mate. So much fire an passion together. Still need to figure out Auroras place in all the secret favors owed...

Entertaining story with fun bits of fantasy and danger! I like the setup of a King looking for his mate and finding it, but there’s something not quite right going on. Plus, both Theo and Estee have some pre-conceived notions about each other that they need to work through in order to stand together against some difficult situations. Enjoyed the whole story! A good series!
