Tracy Lorraine is a M/F and M/M contemporary romance author. Tracy has just turned thirty and lives in a cute Cotswold village in England with her husband, baby girl and lovable but slightly crazy dog. Having always been a bookaholic with her head stuck in her Kindle Tracy decided to try her hand at a story idea she dreamt up and hasn’t looked back since.
By his Rule is book 2 in the Callahan billionaire series. It can be read as a standalone. The couple from book one By his Vows do feature in this book (His brother her best friend).
Kian Callahan is devoted to his work. When he sees Lorelei at his brother’s wedding he’s set on them hooking up. Little does he know Lorelei won’t bend to his charm.
This is an official, slow burn romance.
This book is amusing in places, Steamy (obviously) and a great addition to the Callahan series. Kian works for what he wants and he’s a loveable guy.
This was a good billionaire romance. Kian and Lory were from two different worlds brought together by Kian’s brother and Lory’s best friend marriage. Lory get’s fired from her job because of untrue accusations and is getting desperate trying to find another job. She comes from nothing and has two brothers that depend on her that are still in high school in her hometown. Lory’s friend gets her a job at Kian’s company, but Kian makes her his assistant instead. He’s always had an interest in Lory and she will tell him about himself unlike all the other women in his life which he loves 😂 Kian falls first and hard, but Lory fights her feeling for a while. But Kian is annoyingly persistent and gets what he wants, and he’s never wanted anything more in his life than Lory ❤️
I loved that Kian doesn’t care about her status, wealth, or where she came from. He loves her just the way she is. She on the other hand, hates everything Kian represents. I understand she wants to be independent and she’s always had to work hard for everything she’s got, but she did get a little annoying after a while. I was like girl! He is obsessed with you and would do anything to make you happy! Quit being so prideful and let someone take care of you for once! 🙄 I also loved how Kian welcomed her brothers with open arms and wanted the best for them like they were his own family ❤️
The audiobook was done in duet and it was a fun listen. The narrators were so good with their performances and fit their characters well. I’ve been wanting a good billionaire romance to listen to and this one fit the bill perfectly 😁
Lorelei just got fired and needs a job so she can continue to help her brothers back home (Hendrix & Wilder are in HS and their mom is a deadbeat). Lorelei’s bestie Tatum puts in an application for her at Callahan Enterprises (Tate is married to the CEO/oldest Callahan brother, King). While she gets the job to be the assistant to the Finance Manager, Kian Callahan, the middle brother and CFO, wants her as his personal assistant. While Kian is bossy & demanding, Lorelei holds her own, and I loved her independence & sassy attitude (so does Kian 😂). This is a slow burn (Lorelei turns down Kian a few times) but the spice is worth the wait. The banter in this was top notch and hilarious - I laughed out loud a few times. The relationship developed naturally (Lorelei was hesitant to date/fake date Kian because she was worried about being disposable/losing her much-needed/wanted job) and both had great growth - Kian realized he wanted to finally be in a relationship, and Lorelei learned to be brave and trust her feelings.
"It's real and raw, and painful. Tell me that you're with me. Please, for the love of God, tell me that you feel it too."
‘Hell, who am I kidding? Doing anything with her by my side is my favorite thing to do.’
"No other woman has ever spent the night, let alone the weekend, at my apartment, but having you there made the place feel more like a home than it ever has before.”
"Do not call me that. It's Lori. Anything else is unnecessary." "I'll call you whatever I want to call you.” "As long as the same goes for me." I smirk. "As long as it's sir, boss, or maybe even daddy, I'm pretty sure I can get on board with it."
‘He is wearing gray joggers. Gray joggers. He is not playing fair here.’ 🫠
“Mine. You're mine now, Lorelei.”
"I'm yours, Kian Callahan. Please be gentle with me." "With your heart, always. In the bedroom...never." 🥵

I’m excited to read Book 3, By His Play, about Kieran, the youngest brother.
I came across this book before realizing there's a first book about an older brother.
This book was fun on some sense but I did feel the suspense as to who is doing this was done too quickly. My one complaint is I noticed the verbiage wasn't American even though booked is supposed to be base in chicago in the US but there a few times the lingo was UK. My understanding the author is from the UK so I think it's the only thing she needs to keep in mind when writing about American characters.
The story between Lori and Kian was fun at times but did feel there relationship went from 0 to 100 quickly. I'm guessing Kierran is next and wonder if Lori's brothers will have a story one day.
Ugh! it was such a fun read! There's drama and so much character interaction. This is the second book in the Callahan Billionaires and I could not get enough. Lorelai is strong, stubborn, and a little sassy. Kian is a control freak middle child. They seem like they won't work well but they really do!
Definitely recommend! (can be a standalone but i definitely think getting to meet Lorelai and Kian in the first book with Tate and King is a good idea)
It is on the longer side for some romance book lovers but I think the extra length was worth it to enjoy the characters more :)
I am loving these Callahan brothers, and I can not get enough of Kian and Lorelei together! Their enemies to lovers/billionaire/fake relationship romance is entertaining and swoony from beginning to end. I love the witty banter between these two, the crazy chemistry they try to deny, and once they give in... absolute fire.
"The only man getting anywhere near you for the foreseeable future is me."
Kian ❤ Lorelei! Their story was unexpectedly sweet. I really enjoyed reading it, and I'm seriously considering picking up the other two books in the series.
Received an ARC through my membership in Tracy’s Patreon.
Love the Callahan’s and Kian is no different. Love the sass that Lori gives off. Great banter, and perfect amount of spice.
This is one of those authors I purchase instantly. I love the worlds and interconnected relationships. Occasionally you get a predictable storyline but if it leads to a great HEA I’m there for it.
{📖🤓} {ARC Review} ~⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐~ By His Rule CALLAHAN BILLIONAIRES ~Book # 2~ {Author Tracy Lorraine} @tracy_lorraine_author
These books keep getting better and better. I loved Lorelei and Kian story so much I had a hard time putting it down
Wow I thought I loved Kingston and Tatum but Kian and Lori have taken the title.
Kian surprised me so much in this book. He made me swoon. A billionaire who doesn't do relationships sure falls hard for Lori. He has his work cut out for him though she will not make it easy on him. Because our girl Lori prides herself in being an independent woman she doesn't need a man like Kian in her life.
The boss employee troupe was perfection for these two. She doesn't take his shit and I love all the things she says and does to get under his skin.
Ahh I just loved every minute of this story but of course why wouldn't it be written by Tracy. There isn't anything she writes that I won't read.
We first met Lorelei and Kian in the first book in the Callahan Billionaires world, By His Vow, and they certainly didn't get along. Lorelei came from a rocky, humble start in life but has found herself in the world of these billionaires through her best friend from college. And that friend is now married to Kian's older brother. Lorelei has worked hard to get to where she is, fighting to earn everything she has in life, while keeping an eye out for Mr. Right. Meanwhile, Kian has been brought up in this flashy, rich world and raised to to take on the family business, and is in no mindset to find "the one.”
After a series of events Lorelei finds herself working at Callahan Enterprises. This has been her dream from before she found herself connected to that world. That dream certainly was not to be Kian's new assistant but that's where she ends up. They butt heads over and over while fighting the attraction they feel for each other. Kian ends up proposing a fake dating situation to benefit both of them in different ways.
They have such a back and forth, push and pull dynamic. They find themselves opening up to each other in ways they never planned. It's a battle between them, their mixed emotions, and their doubts. They have moments of real emotion and passion blended with what they present to the outside world. And they find themselves bonding over family, football, and spreadsheets.
I absolutely loved these two and the journey they went on together. I loved all the passionate moments blended with their fun and flirty banter. This book was so good. And now I'm intrigued to see what will happen with the last Callahan brother.
I loved By His Vow, so I was disappointed that I didn’t love this one. It was fine, and maybe some of my hang-ups are just me, but here’s where I went from seeing potential to feeling let down.
Kian and Lorelei definitely had potential as a couple, but most of the book was Lorelei convincing herself she wasn’t good enough for his world, talking herself out of it at every turn, then trying to build herself back up—only to shut Kian down again. She repeatedly told herself she wanted to "have it all," yet despised anything that represented wealth and privilege. I have to give credit to Kian for his persistence because Lorelei’s back-and-forth gave me whiplash.
To be fair, their relationship developed in a short timeline—mostly under a month. They had met several times before she started working for him, but things escalated quickly from there. However, there was limited emotional build-up. The attraction was strong, both mentally (banter, her challenging him) and physically, but their deeper emotional wounds remained hidden from each other. As readers, we got insight into their struggles, but they never truly opened up to each other. It felt like we were in on the tea, but they weren’t.
The story had a lot of potential, but the execution fell flat. It was over 600 KU pages of "will they or won’t they," mostly circling around giving in to attraction. There was also a crazy ex of Lorelei’s who showed up, adding some drama, with Kian stepping in to protect her.
The Callahan Billionaires is further proof that whether it’s dark new adult, pitch-black criminal underground, or billionaire playboy brothers, Lorraine’s talent will leave you in awe. These brand-new characters will take your breath away. I’m already counting down the days until Kieran’s book and hoping we get more of Lorelei’s brothers.
By His Rule is a captivating “will they or won’t they” slow burn to the nth degree.I was utterly captivated within the first few lines.
Both their obvious connection and the intensity of their hate were palpable. Despite their best efforts, nothing or no one could stop what was about to happen, no matter how hard either of them tried. It was fate, with a small helping hand from a jealous, possessive hero who would let her go but would always be close behind.
Strong, independent, and full of sass, Lorelei was my favorite kind of heroine—her sass is amplified whenever Kian is around. I was enamored with the intense love she had for her brothers; it was not enough for her to start over and pursue her own goals; she would stop at nothing to ensure that her brothers had the best opportunity at success. I think my adoration of characters like Lorelei is because they remind me of my own older sister. There’s something to be said about someone who is willing to step in when those who should yet don’t. Because Lorelei carried the burden of her brothers' and her own worlds on her shoulders, she was afraid of the intense intensity she sensed whenever Kian was around.
Kian was a playboy billionaire, but that was only on the surface. He was so much more than that, and all the things that frustrated Lorelei the most were some of the reasons he was so perfect for her. He’s arrogant, and when he sets his sights on something, there’s no stopping him until he has it in his grasp. For the first time ever, he has his sights set on a woman who doesn’t care about his wealth or last name. Lorelei wants nothing to do with him. Her unexpected reactions might be part of what sparked his intrigue, but it doesn’t take long for him to realize that he’s met his match in more ways than one.
The chemistry between Kian and Lorelei was uncontainable. They were opposites in almost every way, and those were the very things that added fuel to their already burning desire for one another. Lorelei was sassy and stubborn, and he was protective, possessive alpha hotness with a swooniness she couldn’t ignore. She didn’t care about his money or his last name, and he offered her a sense of safety and devotion that she’d never known before.
By His Rule is one of the best books I’ve read this year. The magnetic intensity of Kian and Lorelei’s opposites—attract, billionaire, workplace romance—will have your eyes glued to your Kindle until you devour every single word. If you love the tension that comes from a “will they or won’t they” slow burn where not only does he fall first, but if there was an award for jealous, possessive, dirty-talking book boyfriends, Kian Callahan would win hands down. How am I supposed to just go back to reality after this epic escape?
Tropes: workplace romance, boss x assistant, enemies to lovers, billionaire romance, found family, forced proximity, “he takes care of her”, he falls first x harder, fierce FMC
Review: By His Rule was another 5 star, highly emotional, angst filled read by Tracy Lorraine and I can’t even be sorry about the book hangover it caused! Kian and Lorelei were w WHIRLWIND of emotional turmoil and I loved both of them from the very beginning. Tracy was able to draw me in from page 1 with the tension and animosity Lorelei had for Kian and I LOVED seeing her come undone by him as the book went on!
Kian Callahan was a God among Men in this book and for Tracy this says something since she excels at making jaw-dropping book boyfriends. Kian was the breadwinner for me in this book and I LOVED watching him fall for his woman. The love and possessiveness he had for her was SOO obvious toe everyone but him and Lorelei and it was amazing reading his acceptance of why she began to be the most important person in his life. I also LIVED for the banter they shared both in the office and outside of it!
Lorelei was a truly independent FMC and Tracy did it up well in this book. I found her to be a pillar of strength but also to be vulnerable in ways that shocked me. The slow melting she did for Kian and his devotion to her added to the her character a ton and I enjoyed watching her find her way. I also liked seeing how she was the guardian to her half-brothers. That added a whole new layer to her character and put a lot of the jagged edges of her personality into perspective. My one thing was that I wished she had accepted Kian sooner since it was hard to read his upset as he felt like sh would never fully trust him.
Kian and Lorelei were INTENSE. The two were force on their own but together they were pretty unstoppable in this book. The push and pull Tracy added to their relationship boosted the tension to a whole new level and seeing the mighty Kian fall to his knees was THE BEST. I also ate up all the dirty talk and snark Kian had when talking to Lorelei and adored his nickname for her. The only thing I wanted more explanation on was his middle child syndrome since it seemed to be a big part of his character. Overall, By His Rule was a THICK romance full of emotional angst, turmoil and once in a lifetime love that is perfect fro fans of workplace romance!
Rating: 5/5, Kian Callahan came, conquered and left me in shambles waiting for the next to fall!
Always Wait For The Power Dynamic Condemnation That Never Comes
Snore.
Always the same fucking story.
He's allowed to be a member of the toxiv Landed Class, the toxic Businessman Class, the classes that created early modern Famine that the Second Agricultural Revolution technically solved.
But as an Irish person, I am used to not relating to the tribes of colonisers and genociders.
She's not independent of him because she depends on him for life and he enjoys that he keeps her on a financial lease, a social lease and an emotio al lease.
It's actually pathetic reading people who start out one way and end the same way, the only difference being is that as oppulently rich cunt, his existence as a hoarder, kills and traumatises children by denying them financial security.
But I can't relate to a bitch that sees the body parts of kids on the news, caused by assholes like this, and still nuancing him because he is able to move his personal exceptionalism.
But she's not real.
She exists for the Unseen, Unloved and utterly Unfucked to whip into shape, because they don't want to admit, they've no idea how to get seen, get loved and get fucked.
Like does it enamor you when a man has a family?
Like, you respond "see, he has a heart."
Authentic People respond, "You realise it makes him look worse? No? The fact he treats other humans how he refuses to treat you, demonstrating capability to NOT fuck with you, and you think its hot that he chooses to?
Hahahah
Neurotypical, unseen, untraumatised, buffered, colonial, white woman, finger snap, girl boss slay moment eh?
"I fuck them, but make love to you."
Hahahaha.
The biggest lie? Hurt people, hurt people.
Nope.
Hurters of people are allowed to weaponise their tiny instances of pain, to justify continuing the cycle of scapegoating the same groups.
As soon as you are marvelling at his money, I know you are happy to ignore the blood it came from.
Green Pilled Patriarchial Parable of Toxicity.
The kinda book where growth doesn't happen, she just surrenders and forgets her values one by one.
Its interesting, if he fucks you in secret, then he's deemed you a secret.
Can't imagine being so pathetic that you let him pretend later, that your secret romance is real.
Romance isn't something that happens in the dark, or in the confines of a toxic power dynamic.
But, those with Daddy Issues want to never resolve their Daddy Issues and vicariously living through mentally lecturing the main character scapegoats, for not just enjoying needing therapy, because you exist to nuance the toxic, sanitise the non conformists and shame the "bitter" women for not forgetting what the men did.
This is Kian and Lorelei's book. We met them in Kingston and Tatum's book, By His Vow. Let's see how they get on.....
Lorelei Tempest, didn't have the greatest upbringing, wrong side of the tracks, she's supporting her younger brothers, their mother has more or less checked out, leaving them to fend for themselves. They get by. She's determined, paves her own way, sassy, hates the wealthy, rich and entitled people. But when she looses her job, her best friend, Tatum, whose been her rock since college, gets her in at Callahan Enterprises, to her horror her new boss is Tatum's brother-in-law, CFO of Callahan Enterprises, yes, he's easy on the eyes, but he's also a jerk, thinks highly of himself, playboy, he's everything she dislikes about the rich.
Kian Callahan growing up in his older brother Kingston's shadow, seeing him get handed everything, then there's his younger brother Kieran, he's the athlete, plays for the Chicago Chiefs. Kian feels that he's overlooked, middle child syndrome, despite that, the brothers are real close. Finding out that Lorelei has gotten an assistant position within the company, he turns it around and makes her his instead. He finds her intriguing, and a breath of fresh air that she's not interested in him, his position or his money.
When Lorelei's ex doesn't take the hint to leave her alone, and to stop the unwanted attention from women, Kian suggests that the two of them fake date. Lorelei is apprehensive about it. She doesn't belong in that world. What if it goes pear shaped? She's the expendable one. What about her brothers? They need her. But what if it goes the other way, what if she falls for him? Her track record isn't great. She falls for the worst type, liars, cheats, losers.
Kian has his work cut out for him, cause Lorelei is running rings around him. She's so stubborn. The push and pull between them, and the chemistry is sizzling. How long will it take for the penny to drop that they both harbour feelings for one another? Who'll fall first?
Love love Kian and Lorelei romance so much and absolutely love the spicy scenes between Kian and Lorelei so much and I love that Kingston, Tatum, and Kieran appear in the book as well and I really like the boss x employee between Kian and Lorelei since Lorelei is Kian’s new assistant and I like that Lorelei gets along with everyone at Callahan enterprises and I really like that Kian and Lorelei open up to each other about there family’s and past relationships and I’m not a fan of Lorelei’s ex boyfriend Matt who won’t leave her alone and I love the text messages and emails between Kian and Lorelei so much and I love that Lorelei supports her brothers schooling and dreams wilder and Hendrix appear in the book and I love that Kane legend, Leon and Luca Dunn from Maddison’s king university appear in the book and I just love that kian would do anything for Lorelei and I love that Kian calls Lorelei ‘Temptress’ or ‘Babe’ in the book and I absolutely love the ending when Kian goes after Lorelei to support her with her brothers and they get engaged and Tatum finally has her baby with Kingston and I am just love the Callahan billionaire series so much and I love Tracy Lorraine writing and I love the little snippet of Kieran and Ellie appearing at the end of the book and I can’t wait to read there story next in the series and I liked that Kian and Lorelei came from different backgrounds like Kians family is rich and Lorelei’s family living in a trailer in LA and I just love Lorelei and Tatum friendship throughout the book always being there for each other when needed
Also I can’t wait to read naughty and nice about wilder and Hendrix and about Noelle during the Christmas time and I am just loving anything written by Tracy Lorraine ❤️🥰

The first book in this interconnected standalone series was one of my top reads of the year so I went in to this book with high expectations! And Tracy exceeded them! I absolutely loved this book! Lorelei had a rough upbringing and because of it she is fiercely independent and quick to judge most people who come from wealth. When she finds herself in need of a job the only option is work at the company her best friends husband owns as his brothers assistant. While Callahan Enterprises has always been Lorelei’s dream company to work for she gave up on that dream when she became best friends with Tatum because she didn’t want anyone to think she got the job just because of her friendship. It might not have been the way she wanted to get a job but given she didn’t have any other choice she decides to find joy in it and the thing that brings her the most joy…. Pressing her new boss’s buttons. If you look up unattached playboy in a dictionary you’ll probably find a picture of Kian Callahan. As a middle child all he wants to do is prove himself which to him means excelling and being ruthless in business with no time or desire for a relationship. But the more Lorelei pushes his buttons and stands up to him the more she gets under his skin leaving him wondering if he does have the time and desire for a relationship after all. The men in this series are top tier! Without giving spoilers Kian showed up for Lorelei multiple times even win most people would have decided it was to much. I originally fell in love with Tracy’s morally grey men but she’s knocking these billionaires out of the park!
✨ Fake Dating ✨ Workplace Romance ✨ Billionaire Romance
Kian and Lorelai
This is book two in the Callahan Billionaires series and the story follows Kian and Lorelai. Lorelai didn't have it easy in life. Growing up on the wrong side and determined to care for her younger brothers after their mother wouldn’t. With sass and strong will to make it she goes her way, she also hates wealthy and rich people, despite having to work for them. When she suddenly loses her job the one person she has at her back helps her. Tate, the one she has known since college. But she is also married to Kingston and as a Callahan herself now Tate brings Lorelai into their firm. Which means working for Tate’s brother in law Kian. The one who tried to hook up with her at the wedding of Tate and Kingston. Kian is good looking, a playboy and knows about his effects on the opposite sex. He stands for all Lorelai dislikes. But he is also someone who sees himself as the classic middle child. The younger brother being a pro athlete and the oldest being the one who got it all. When he finds out that Lorelai works at the firm he makes her his assistant. Because she won’t fall for him, his money or being her boss. She is everything all the other women he meets are not. When a few issues appear Kian makes Lorelai an offer she can’t refuse. Fake date him. But there are some things to think about and things that could go wrong. The worst could happen were to fall for him. They have chemistry, they bicker and banter. Refreshing to read how long it took until they saw that they were meant to be.
Was hooked to this story from the start and couldn't put it down. By His Rule elevates the office romance to another level. Add the fake dating and the tension at the executive floor is sky high. And don't let me start on those love-to-hate-you vibes . The slow burn was killing me big time. The tension and the angst were perfectly balanced with the those will they - won't they spicy bits. And the witty banter and the sarcastic comments were top notch. Lorelei is a girl of my liking - smart, sassy and hardworking . Love her office supplies. Anyway that notebooks and pens were annoying Kian big time. Kian on the outside was a walking, talking advertisement for the typical demanding and entitled CFO . But was a softy for Lorelei. The more she wanted to hate him the more he softened towards her . Even though they were complete opposites the attraction between them was palpable and undeniable. He was attracted to her because she was so different from all the other women in his life. And she was so unimpressed by his money and status or his last name . She was there by his side working her dream job and fulfilling her dreams. And even though she hated him and everything he stands for, Kian gave her a sense of security and his total devotion. The bromance between the Callaghan brothers was fun . Tatum was the perfect bestie. Now I'm curious about Kieran's story
Thanks to the author for the opportunity to read and review an early copy of this book.
“You really want to be my fake boyfriend?” “Sure, why not?” “But I’m your assistant.” “Bosses and assistants hooking up is pretty common.” “As common as making them cry?” I quip. “I haven’t fucked any of my assistants.” “And that won’t be changing anytime soon. I said fake boyfriend, Kian. F.A.K.E.” I’m not sure which one of us I spell it out for. “Whatever you say, Temptress.”
By His Rule is the second book of billionaire Callahan brothers. Kian is the middle brother, the CFEO and always has some socialite hanging from his arm. He likes the detachment and has never had a girlfriend. Never say never though because there is always an exception. His sister in laws best friend Lorelei has him all kinds of twisted. She’s the only woman to ever put him in his place, calling him out on his arrogance about being gods gift to women. She’s the girl who doesn’t fit in with the haves of the world as she’s a have not. However, she’s in for a rude awakening because Kian isn’t easily deterred and always gets what he wants even if he has to play dirty. Lorelei is sassy and has a great sense of humour, she hasn’t had an easy life and her brothers are everything to her. Kian is clueless when it comes to matters of the heart, he lacks empathy and his form of communication sends mixed messages. Deciphering who wants you for who you are rather than what you are can be a minefield. My heart tore a little and I shed a few tears for him.
I loved this story but it didn't go the way I thought this enemies to lovers & I was hooked from start to finish I couldn't get enough. Not only were they from two completely different worlds & even though Lori's friendship Tate she had been around people with money she was still the normal but fiercely independent woman. Kian started off being his usual arrogant, rich playboy used to getting his own way but Lorelei was not the push over he expected & she was determined not to let him get to her & ruin the chance to make a better life for her & her younger brothers. Their fake relationship was a mutual agreements to keep the women away who were only with him for what they could get & keep her ex from hurting her again but it didn't quite go as either expected. The sexual chemistry between them was off the charts but they also connected on an emotional level aswell especially the change we saw in Kian. Kian had told Lorelei how he felt about her but she refused to accept it saying they were both too different & she wasn't good enough for him but he was going to prove himself worthy of her. The witty banter between them had me smiling especially the notebooks & pens. It was also great seeing other characters come into it & if we'll get to see more of Kane & the guys from the football team in Kieran's story.
This is the second book in this series. This is a billionaire romance, workplace romance, he falls first romance, opposites attract, fake dating,
This is Lorelei and Kian's story.
Lorelei is Tatums best friend and she's the one that helps Lorelei get a job working at the Callahan offices. Lorelei grew up poor and very different from the Kian and she works even harder for what she has. She has alot of strength and a lot of fight but she doubt herself alot too. Kian is a workaholic play.. b0y billionaire that has everything he needs and isn't actually looking for any kind of relationship. He works hard and plays harder and when he sees Lorelei he knew there was something about her that drew him in.
I did love Lorelei at times and how independent she was but hated how she wouldn't listen to her own feelings and I felt at times she was difficult to connect with. This is a real slow burn romance with these two but I felt like I kept waiting for something to happen at times and I did feel like this was a tad too slow for me and I found myself skimming the last few chapter's. I do love how this author writes and her style is flawless but this time I just found this book a bit harder to connect with.
I do look forward to reading more of the Callahan 's though
“I’ve never had such a hard time focusing. It’s all her fault.” - Kain Callahan
*Fake Dating *Dislike to Lovers *He Falls First *Billionaire *Opposites Attract *Jealous and Possessive Hero *Workplace Romance *Rich/Poor *Forced Proximity *Sassy and Feisty Heroine
As always with one of Tracy’s books, I was hooked from the very start. I love that it’s a shared world and we have cameos from other characters dotted throughout. I wonder if we will see more of Kane and the twins in Kieran’s book?
The main characters in this book have a magnetic relationship from the start. Initially it’s magnetic in that they repel each other like two of the same poles being forced together around Kingston and Tatum.
Lorelei is Tatum’s best friend, so even though she has spent time around rich people, she is decidedly not rich. In fact she’s from the other side of the tracks - a trailer park with parents who aren’t around and two brothers to look after. Kian is rich beyond means and is used to getting his own way, so when she tells him no, he takes it as a challenge.
As luck would have it, Lorelei needs a new job, and Kian is in just the position to offer her one, although it’s not the one she applied for. I never said it was good luck. Not for Lorelei anyway. For Kian, she’s just fallen right into his lap and he’s going to do everything he can to get his own way.
Lorelei doesn’t take charity from anyone, not even Tatum. She’s worked for everything she has and she will continue to do so, even if working for Callaghan was always the dream. It’s no wonder she runs at the first sign of any real feelings when we see more of her background and Kian has got walls to knock down. Very solid walls she’s built in that trailer park to keep her and her younger brothers safe.
Her brothers are Kian’s way to Lorelei’s heart in a way. When she sees not only how well he gets on with them but wants to help them and look after them, for no other reason that it’s the right thing to do, Lorelei has to face some hard feelings.
As always with any of Tracy’s books, this is a stand alone that can be read as part of a wider story arc that follows on from By His Vow. Absolutely worth all five stars. I read it in a day as I was unable to put it down.
Ridiculously, unbelievably fabulous! It has tension, so much damn sexual tension, that explodes with the force of a nuclear bomb when they cave, all the he's surprisingly sweet you can handle, crazy amounts of mine, and enough sarcastic wit to have you laughing out loud. Lorelei and Kian play an exquisitely torturous game of drive me crazy that ramps up every emotion and is breathtakingly perfect in the fall, in a must read that lays you low with tenderness, has pulse pounding one handed heat, and tips your heart right on it's side in love with every single second of it.
This is pretty much a perfect read with Kian being the ultimate playboy turned so freaking in love mmc and Lorelei being the strong, independent, doesn't need a man, until Kian, fmc that makes a romance girlies heart squeal in excitement. The attraction for these two is palpable, the way they get under each others skin pure comedy and devious planning, and the sweeter, softer times so heart melting. It's just a straight up unputdownable flawless romance.
