Received a copy exchange for an honest review.

Very interesting and intriguing. Heather is a wonderful young author. This book was a quick read, I wish it didn't end. I read it all in one sitting. The characters drew me in along with the story. Very unique, a good unique. When this book is available i highly recommend that my book friends read it. Great job Heather.

I'd been semi-patiently waiting for the second installment of the Magic Series. It was well worth the wait. I was hooked from the very first chapter. In this book you meet a few new characters. And if you're anything like me, you'll love to hate them.

Things do end on a happy note, which leaves you smiling, and hopeful for the future of Meagan, her family, and Justin.

This is a book that validates months of that ghastly thing called waiting.
It’s a sort of novel that makes me want to convert the non-readers of the world, so that I can then push this series on them and spend the rest of this year fangirling with every being that I meet.
In short, Day Break is fantastic.
The story takes the most exhilarating and poignant of turns, managing to be both an efficacious follow-up of Dusk and an impeccable read. It’s incredibly well thought-out. Every scene makes sense, every turmoil feels entirely necessary, and every piece of dialogue is seamless and well integrated into the story. Heather Kirchhoff's writing is simple and clear - effective in ways that even the most extravagant and complicated of styles don't always manage to be – never failing to build a stark and picturing the characters. It’s a perfect follow up for Dusk.
I am utterly in love with Magic series and is forcing even more people to read it. In the meantime, I’ll be indulged in waiting for the next in series.

I loved the concept of this book. If I could rate it specifically it would be about a 3.85, but since I can't it's a 4. It's well written and entertaining, but a few things I wished were that it were a tad bit more detailed, especially the magic scenes, but I know things like that take practice and I know this author is relatively new to the craft. Also, I sort of wished there were a bit more of an introduction, instead of just throwing us into the midst of the story, but I was able to look passed that once I'd read a few more chapters. Still, I still think about it. I will definitely be reading more by this author, though. Keep writing.

I thought I knew what I was getting into when I read the description, but it simply doesn't do this book justice. Heather is an amazing author. This book is wonderful.

Magic, prophecies, and so much emotion. I was hooked immediately.

I cannot wait to see what happens next!

Seventeen-year-old Meagan Nevels is a powerful witch. After her village burnt down, taking Meagan’s mom with it, she had to flee with her aunt into an unknown world. Now they’re among unsuspecting humans, trying to fit in. When a prophecy strikes her, taking Meagan’s breath away as she’s told that she’ll fall in love with a human. Meagan knows that she can’t let that happen or else her secret might get out and take her and her aunt down, but she’s caught in a desire to be with him. Can Meagan break what she feels for him or will all hell break loose?

Dusk was a very quick read, it grabbed my attention right from the beginning. Meagan’s character was a strong character who didn’t back down easily. Being that this was a young adult novel, I like that the author represented her as a strong individual. I feel that any young girls reading this will feel empowered by Meagan’s confidence.

Her confidence, however, only comes in the form of her magic. She knows that she is a powerful witch but when she meets a human who is interested and tells her she is beautiful, she is thrown off-guard. Limited interaction with others, especially humans has made Meagan “awkward” in social situations.

Being that it was a quick read, sometimes I got a little lost with the fast paced of the story and character dialogue. There were times that the dialogue between Meagan and her Aunt Teresa was a little repetitive, but I figured, that’s probably how a typical conversation with a teenager would go.

I enjoyed the way Heather decided to end this book, it is a good cliffhanger for the readers and makes us wonder if Meagan’s aunt Teresa will give in to her objections to teach Meagan magic, or if she will hold her ground and force Meagan to fight the impending battle on her own.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves the supernatural. It is a fast paced, exciting story. Perfect for a beach read.

I just finished reading Dusk (Magic #1). It is a young adult paranormal written by Heather Kirchoff. Megan and her family find themselves constantly on the run to protect Megan. Megan is known as one of the most powerful witches of all times and there are many people out there looking to kidnap her to steal her powers. She’s tired of running, but knows that if she wants her and her family to live, she has no choice.

I have to be honest. I am really on the fence about this book. On the one hand, I really liked the story. On the other hand, there were many points I didn’t like. I feel like it could have gone into more details, and the book could have been longer. I also feel like they could have made Megan a little less bratty. I mean she’s supposed to be constantly on the run for her life, yet she acts like a spoiled rotten little brat who’s not used to having her way. This is just the way I perceive her. The idea of the book itself though is great. I completely loved it.

I will be reading the second book. Maybe Megan will have a character transformation in the second book who knows. Other than what I mentioned that I wasn’t fond of, I really didn’t see anything wrong with this book. The grammar and spelling were great. It flowed very well. I do feel there were parts that were a little rushed though. That’s probably just me though.

I do fully recommend this book to people who like books about witches and warlocks. I especially recommend it to the younger readers out there. Though there were many things about this book that I didn’t care for, I liked the book itself overall. I’m glad that I was given the opportunity to read this book.

I was given a copy of Daybreak by the author, Heather Kirchhoff, for an honest review...
I really enjoyed this book. Meagan is a very powerful magic user. She is constantly being hunted down because of her powers. She would love to just have a normal life, but in Dusk (book 1) she was told that loving a regular human could be her downfall.
In Daybreak someone comes into her life that she thought she would never know. On top of that she is trying to figure out her feelings for the human man Justin. Poor girl, at 17 her life is just confusing and full of danger.
I have always enjoyed a book that is full of magic. Meagan is a very strong character that will do anything for aunt her aunt's boyfriend Devin. They are the only family that she has since the death of her mother when she was a small girl.
Dusk and Daybreak are a series that is a must read. I am glad that I discovered the author. She has done an amazing job with this series and I am eagerly awaiting the next book. I want to know what is going to happen between Meagan and Justin. Will she be able to love like a normal woman, or will she be hunted down for powers?

This book was given to me by the author for an honest review
The first chapter opens up with a tragic scene. A fire has destroyed their village and the people don't know why it was set.
17 year old Meagan dreams about the night that her mother died often. Since the night her mother died, Meagan has lived with her aunt Teresa and her aunt's boyfriend Devin. The night that she wakes up after dreaming about her mother, her aunt comes into her room telling her that their lives are in danger and they have to move...again.
Meagan is a witch. She is known as the Powerful One and that alone keeps her life in jeopardy. She would like to live a normal life as 17 year, but she knows its not possible.
Dusk was really good. Heather Kirchhoff wrote a different type of paranormal YA story. I love a good story about magic. Dusk really gives the start of a series as she gives a lot of background on Meagan. Meagan goes through much to help her aunt. A prophecy is told her and she knows her whole life is going to change...
I am looking forward to the next book in the series. This is definitely a book to read.

Heather Kirchhoff did a great job with Dusk it was a fast and good read. She hooks you from the very first page and that is great thing. I wish it was longer and not so fast. I love Meagan she is straight forward and she has habit at times of saying what is on her mind without thinking. You can tell she has never been around people with her always hiding from others that want to take her for her power. They move into the city in hoping it will hide them better and she finally gets out and meets a boy Justin then gets told a prophecy to stay away from him and all humans. What is a girl to do with that kind of information and she wants to bury the past so she ends back to where it all began but was it a good thing or bad thing on going back. Can't wait to see what happens next. You will have to read it yourself to find out. :)

Overall Rating 5 Magical Stars

Heather is such a talented author. Her writing is done beautifully, and this book was very well written. It was interesting and intriguing. I read this book in one sitting. I love her characters in this book. They’re fresh and very loveable. You have Meagan and we met her in book one. She is sweet and caring. Then you have Justin who knows her secret. Then a new character is introduced, Derek. At first I didn’t know how I felt about him. But as the story grew he became one of my favorite characters. This story will have you on the edge of your set wanting more. I didn’t want the book to end! Well Done Heather and I can’t wait for the next book =)

Given To Me For An Honest Review

This book is amazing. When I began reading it I didn't think it would be one that I would enjoy. But once started it was amazing. Heather has done a fantastic job with her writing. Using magic, prophecy, love, anger, and other emotions rolled into one makes this story something that you must read. I was so enthralled into the story and then it ended. I thought "What" .. I cannot wait for the next one. I highly recommend this book for everyone. Heather Kirchhoff is on my list of new authors to watch. I just wish I could give at least 10+ stars.

Good day, good day! ヾ(´¬`)ノ

Before reading, be aware that I write reviews with tons of spoilers. When I say tons, I do mean TONS. This is a fact. So if you don't want the story to be spoiled for you, better not click the spoiler link okay? ( ̄▼ ̄*) This still stands even though I haven't read the whole book yet.

OVERALL:
I won't recommend this book. The plot is so cliche, the characters unlikable, the writing confusing. That is my honest assessment of the book. You might like this book though, and have a different opinion about the story since there are positive reviews about it.

I didn't finish reading it by the way, but I doubt my opinion would change even if I did. I would update this review however in the event that I finish reading it.

And that's it! Happy Good reads! (>y<)

I compare the book to Twilight, but that's not a favorable comparison. It's definitely written for the same audience and has the same weaknesses that made me not want to read Twilight in the first place.
The opening pages were excellent, but the minute the main characters were introduced, I was lost. Way too much focus is placed on inane activities and actions, but there's no real story line. The blurb mentions a prophecy and some big revelation, but I never felt any buildup or tension.
There was no explanation of the magic. There is no reason given (that I could find) as to why people are trying to kill her. The name "Powerful One" is incredibly irksome in my opinion, and the way the MC refers to herself by that name is not good. There are quite a few tense and grammar mistakes, along with expressions I found iffy--all in all, the writing could use a bit more spit and polish.
There's no real story line, or at least none that I could find. The character is just sort of existing, but there's no emotional challenge, no character growth or change, nothing but her liking a guy and being told she can't like him then liking him anyway. It's just too much of a cliché for my tastes. The characters are fairly two-dimensional, without any real depth.
All in all, it was a weak story, and though it showed a LOT of promise on the author's part, I can't give it a high rating.

This book was given to me by the author for an Honest review.
To say the least Heather Kirchhoff leaves you speechless. This story had one heck of a storyline with the main character Meagan. Meagan has seen her fair share of tragedy which leaves her with a lot of questions in her life. Being a girl with special powers has many ups and downs but especially doesn't let her be a normal teenage girl with normal feelings. Heather draws you into this story and keeps you interested the entire way with her surprise twists. You can't help but read this fast paced book to see what is going to happen next. I love how she has intertwined magic and the paranormal. I can't wait for the next book.

I received this book in return for an honest review and honestly? That was the only thing that kept me reading it. The ideas are there but the execution is not good at all. Nothing makes sense, there's no backstory or explanation to anything, it's very rushed and Meagan is an utter brat! I don't think it's anything that couldn't be solved with an editor and a rewrite as there is a good story underneath it all but in its current incarnation I didn't enjoy it at all.

Meagan is a 17 yr old witch. Who didn't know what was going on besides running from danger. Her family (her aunt and uncle) have raised her since her mother died in a village fire, that killed many. With her coming into her powers and a boy she may like. What's a girl to do about a prophecy that may come true. And people out to kill her just because of a little prophecy.

Meagan was born 'the Powerful One' and now they are being hunted down. Her aunt Teresa and her boyfriend Devin have raised and protected her but now they've been found.
This is a fairly fast paced book but it makes for a good read. Looking forward to book 2
