2 lovely novellas in 1 and they have all the love feels that you come to expect from this author! She's always my go to for the feelgood vibes and these don't disappoint!
The first story is about a mum and a boy, moving to a new area and finding ways to fit in. The boy lost his father when he was very young, and has always wanted a dog so is delighted to find the neighbour has a dog. Cole is the neighbour who keeps to himself and you wonder why he's so prickly to begin with, but you soon learn his backstory and understand why.
And in the second story Bethany is a new teacher in Alaska. Mitchell is a father to Chrissie and he always puts her first. There's such a lovely bond between them. And you wonder what happened in their past, and as to why Bethany has moved to that area. There's such warmth in these characters that you can't help but love their stories.
The grumpy neighbor as Robin and her son Jeff moved in next door resisted showing any interest in them. However, watching him soften to them was sweet in "Father's Day". Another child plays matchmaker in "Daddy's Little Helper" as Mitch resists showing interest in Bethany, the new school teacher in Hard Luck, Alaska. Bethany has her own agenda in taking the job in Hard Luck, and it wasn't to find a husband. Both stories were delightful!
What adorable stories. I very much enjoyed both. Father’s Day is about sunshine Robin Masterson and her 10-year-old son Jeff who move into a house next to grumpy neighbor Cole Camden. Cole has a dog, Blackie, whom Jeff loves to care for. Daddy’s Little Helper is about teacher Bethany Ross and Mitch Harris. Father of Bethany’s student, Chrissie, who wants to pair her dad with her teacher. Happy ever after happen in both stories.
Both stories were very well written and draw you in. It was difficult to stop reading. I have always enjoyed Debbie Macomber's novels. I highly recommend this book!!
