A tragic accident…or a murder?

The police ruled Elijah Martinez’s death an accidental drug overdose, but the teen’s grieving mother isn’t convinced. With the case officially closed, Angelhart Investigations is the only one who can help her find the truth. Margo Angelhart’s sure this will be an easy solve—she’ll talk to Elijah’s friends and employer, retrace his steps, and figure out what happened in his final hours.

Except none of his friends believe he did drugs, and the teacher who’s been vocal about the police mishandling the case turns up dead. Every thread Margo pulls leads back to a dangerous drug ring that once ran through the school.

When Margo’s brother Jack, a former cop, can’t get straight answers out of the police, they don’t know if it’s because of an active case…or a cover-up. Margo’s only sure of one thing—she has to find out what really happened to Elijah before more teens become pawns in a twisted scheme.

The way that Brennan uses her characters to peel away the layers of this story is just wonderful. I loved the family interactions, the give and take of working together in their business and how Margo is coming to see that as a very good thing. Margo had her disagreements with the family in the past but this time they were all united to figure out what really happened. I have four grandkids in high school and the plot hit close to home for me. With drug use rampant it was truly scary. This was a mystery, but I enjoyed the little, very little, fantastic love zinger at the end. I can't wait for the next book.

With Private Investigator Margo Angelhart now working for the family business and not on her own, she is coming to see the advantages of having partners. Her sister Tess is fantastic with research and her brother Jack, a former Phoenix police detective, is solid and dependable. Her mother, a former county attorney and prosecutor, adds her expertise to the mix. With extended family also in various aspects of law enforcement they all make a formidable team and provide solid backup.

When a heartbroken mother who has lost her son comes to Angelhart Investigations, Margo is compelled to investigate and get to the bottom of what really happened to Elijah Martinez. The police ruled his death an accidental overdose, but the honor student had no history or known involvement with drugs. Police closed the case without a thorough investigation, leaving a lot of unanswered questions.

Every angle Margo explores only leads to more questions and more angles, but no clear path to what really happened to Elijah. Elijah's best friend, Angie, is so angry at the police and just angry at the world, but she is also determined to get to the truth. Margo is nothing if not tenacious and she is determined, exploring all aspects of Elijah's life leading up to his death. His friends, his job, his school, Margo looks at it all and finally emerges with a gut feeling of what happened, but no proof. Now the real fun begins, but it puts both Angie and Margo in danger.

My thanks to the Publisher, and Author, for providing a complimentary digital Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this novel via NetGalley. This is my fair, honest and personal review. All opinions are mine alone and were not biased in any way.

Made it to 36%. It’s not pulling me in at all right now. Other people are waiting for this one and they may really enjoy it, so I will put myself back on the list and try again at a later time. Darn. 10/7/25. 😞.

This is an entertaining, fast paced, well-written crime thriller. It has a strong and capable female protagonist, engaging secondary characters, supportive family, murder, mystery, intrigue, suspense, wit, a touch of romance, and a satisfying conclusion. This is an excellent addition to Ms. Brennan's outstanding Angelhart Investigations series, and it can be read as a stand alone, but for the best experience it should be read in order. I am looking forward to reading the next entry with great anticipation. I listened to the audio book, and the narrator, Ms. Hillary Huber, does a wonderful job voicing the characters.

I am an Allison Brennan fan for sure! Have to admit, I'm sad there's hasn't been more of the Kincaid clan, but the Angelhart's are winning me over. This is a nice, solid thriller. Maybe a little more on the predictable side, but the characters are well developed and enjoyable. I recommend!

Thank you to Net Galley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for gifting me this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Angelhart Investigations has been asked to look into the death of Elijah Martinez, a high school honor student. He wasn’t known to do drugs, yet the police have ruled his death an accidental overdose with little investigation. His mother and best friend, Angie, want answers.

Margo Angelhart dives right in as the case brings up a painful memory from her past. Her gut tells her there’s more to Elijah’s death, especially when she discovers a major drug operation was brought down at Elijah’s school a few years earlier.

Angie, Elijah’s best friend, was also a key character. She was a smart girl with her head on straight despite her deadbeat mother. Angie ends up in danger while pursuing the truth.

The whole Angelhart family work together at their private investigative firm, each one with a specialty that’s key in handling the cases. There’s some friction between Margo and her mother, but it’s clear they’re a close, loving family. The last installment, Out of the Shadows, was novella length with Margo’s brother, Jack, taking the lead in the investigation. He ended up gaining a girlfriend in the process. I loved the pairing, and it was nice to “see” them again here. We’re introduced to a potential love interest for Margo and I’m all for it!

Don’t Say a Word
wrapped up in a thrilling conclusion, and I can’t wait for the next installment! I love this series, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to fans of smart crime procedurals with complex, relatable characters and a bit of romance!

I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy courtesy of the publisher. These are my honest thoughts and opinions.

Margot Angelhart is officially one of my favorite new characters! This should not be a surprise because Allison Brennan writes tough, strong female characters, and Margot is no different. 5 stars for the second installment of this series!

In this one, a high school student - Elijah Martinez - is found dead of what looks like a drug overdose. But Elijah’s mother and his best friend do not believe it. They have questions, and they want answers. Elijah’s mother hires Angelhart Investigations to give them closure.

Margot and her siblings along with their mother dive deep into this case. I love following Margot’s thought process throughout the story. She keeps you on the edge of your seat. We also get a glimpse into the other characters’ thoughts too. This story did not go in the direction that I thought it would - it was original, with an incredible ending.

I also listened to the audiobook of this one. Hillary Huber does an amazing job with this series. If you prefer to listen, this one is amazing!

Thank you to NetGalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing, and MIRA Books for the digital review copy! This one is out now, I highly recommend starting with the first book - you will be hooked in no time. I cannot wait for the next book in this series!

Review copy was received from NetGalley, Publisher. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

The   Angelhart Investigations series is fast paced and the investigations are gritty but smart. Margo has plenty of less than normal sources of information.  Plus she stakes out some things or plays a role when interviewing witnesses and suspects.  She rarely gets into trouble with the law because of all her connections, but the bad guys don't hesitate to go after her.  I've read both novellas along with the first book and I love the family.

A woman has lost her son to a drug overdose.  She comes to the Angelharts, along with his employer, to seek their help in solving why he died.  Margo looks at the police investigation and finds it lacking. She talks to his friends, and co-workers. She looks for his phone and backpack, and gets access to his phone records and texts through his mother.

He had some strange things happening but wasn't taking drugs.  There are some odd things going on at his workplace too.   I figured out the bad guys pretty quickly but while Margo figured it out, she needed evidence.  One of her interviews gets the DEA following her and she meets a new guy, Cal,  who is something.  I wonder if he will be a love interest.

Allison Brennan is a talent with character and world building.  Her earlier books seemed to focus a bit more on the romance although there was always a mystery.  Now the mystery seems to be the focal point with sometimes a romance in the background.  I like the combination either way.  Don't Say a Word read quickly because it was so enjoyable.

Narration:
The narrator is one of my favorites.  It takes me a minute to settle because I have heard her perform so many different characters.  I was comfortable with her voice for Margo and the others.   I listened at my newer  1.75x speed.

This is a relevant and ripped-from-the-headlines story of a talented teen who dies of a drug overdose. But when Margo Angelhart tries to investigate what she considers a suspicious death, she meets all kinds of roadblocks, especially from the school that Elijah attended. Determined to find out the truth for his grieving family, Margo and her brother Jack pound on a lot of closed doors and get a lot of cold shoulders for their efforts. Of course, they also end up awakening a sleeping bear, so danger is stalking them even while they are pursuing the truth. I loved the fast pace and the way the mystery was layered in the story. I got engaged with the characters right away and really enjoyed getting to know Jack more. He is witty as well as extremely intelligent about police procedures, so he and Margo make a good team. This book started fast right out the gate and kept up that pace all the way to the end, with a few red herrings and plenty of clues. One of my favorite kind of mysteries that allowed me to guess along with the investigators!

I love the new series by Allison Brenner but there were a few misses in this one for me and it pains me to say it probably was partially due to the narration. Hillary Huber is the narrator best known for the Frankie Elkin series that she also voices the audiobooks for so have to remind myself that this is Margot and not Frankie because these two characters overlap a lot with their mannerisms and style. So that was slightly annoying but her voice work with teenagers (which we hear from a lot in this book) sounds so childish and whiney. Nails on a chalkboard at times for me.

The mystery was easy to figure out and almost too quickly so the suspense factor was low for me. It also seemed to take an enormous amount of time for anyone in law enforcement to put these pieces together which is one of those tropes I really hate. Cops appear to be clueless when ordinary citizens figure it all out.

There are a LOT of characters to keep track of from former criminals to present day criminals to just the Angelhart family members. I have read the previous installments so I think I started to remember who was who quickly but this one is better to be read in order of the series.

Biggest let down was no forward motion in the case of Margot’s Dad. Why even put it in the book if you don’t give us some breadcrumbs. Big disappointment!

In the second installment of the Angelhart Investigations series by Allison Brennan, the private investigation team takes on a case that the police have already closed. A teenage boy named Elijah Martinez is said to have died from a drug overdose, but his mother doesn’t buy it—and neither does Margo Angelhart. What seems like a straightforward case turns out to be anything but.
As Margo starts digging, she quickly realizes things don’t add up. Elijah’s friends insist he never touched drugs, and when a teacher speaking out about the case dies suddenly, the situation takes a darker turn. The deeper she goes, the more she uncovers about an old drug operation tied to the school—one that might still be active.
Margo’s brother Jack, an ex-cop, tries pressing the police for answers but keeps hitting a wall. Now they have to wonder: is this an ongoing investigation, or is someone trying to bury the truth?
One thing’s clear—if they don’t act fast, more kids could end up in danger.
This book pulled me in right from the start—fast-paced, emotionally intense, and packed with suspense. Margo Angelhart is back, and she’s as sharp and determined as ever. When she takes on the case of Elijah Martinez, a teen whose death was ruled an overdose, what seems like a simple investigation quickly spirals into something far more dangerous.
I loved how the mystery unfolded. Each clue led deeper into a tangled web of corruption, secrets, and heartbreak, and just when I thought I had things figured out, the story surprised me again. There’s also just the right balance of family drama, with Margo’s complicated relationships adding depth to the tension.
This series really shines when it comes to character development and tightly woven plots. The stakes are high, the twists are great, and the pacing keeps you turning pages. If you're into gritty, emotional thrillers with strong female leads—think Lisa Gardner—you’ll enjoy this. I hope this series keeps going, because I’m already looking forward to the next case!

Don't Say a Word by Allison Brennan is a very highly recommended investigative procedural. In this second book in the Angelhart Investigations series they are looking into the death of a teen to determine if it was an accident or murder. Even though this is the second book in the series following You'll Never Find Me (2024), it can be read as a stand-alone novel.

Elijah Martinez’s death was officially ruled an accidental drug overdose, but his mother doesn't believe it. Elijah was an honor student and had no history of drug use. She thinks the investigation was perfunctory, and asks Angelhart Investigations to look into it. Private Investigator Margo Angelhart agrees to do so. After talking to his friends, a school counselor, and his employer, Margo also thinks something more was behind the death. When another murder happens during her initial investigation, Margo begins to suspect a connection to the drug ring that previously ran through the school.

Don't Say a Word presents a well-written, compelling, complicated, and intricate investigation in a fast paced plot. It's always enjoyable to read an investigative procedural that logically follows clues along the way while uncovering more areas of inquiry to explore. There are plenty of clues to follow and Margo realizes quickly that the danger to herself and those she is questioning is also increasing. Elijah's death is clearly connected to something sinister.

All the characters are realistically portrayed as complicated individuals with strengths and some flaws. As a family business, Angelhart Investigations consists of Margo, an experienced P.I., her brother Jack, a former police detective, her sister Tess, who excels at research, and her mother, Ava, a former county attorney and prosecutor. Margo is tenacious, intelligent, and very intuitive. She has plenty of discernment and can really read people when talking to them. Elijah's best friend, Angie, is a well portrayed teen.

Don't Say a Word would be an excellent choice for everyone who enjoys intricate investigations featuring a tenacious P.I. Thanks to MIRA Books for providing me with an advance reader's copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary and expresses my honest opinion.

Margo and the rest of the Angelhart family return in the second installment of what’s quickly becoming one of my favorite series. I’ve been eagerly awaiting this release ever since finishing You’ll Never Find Me, the first book in the series.

Now working full-time with the family’s private investigation business, Margo—alongside Jack and Tess—takes on the suspicious case of Elijah Martinez, a promising young man found dead from an apparent drug overdose. But no one who knew Elijah believes he ever used drugs. The deeper Margo digs, the more dangerous the case becomes. As key people she speaks with begin turning up dead, the stakes escalate rapidly.

Long-buried secrets resurface, and someone is clearly determined to keep them hidden. But Margo, relentless and sharp, refuses to let go. Like a dog with a bone, she keeps pulling at threads until the truth starts to unravel.

This novel is a solid police procedural and thriller, delivering all the trademark suspense and intricacy we’ve come to expect from Allison Brennan. The added family tension and emotional depth elevate the story even further. We also get more insight into Margo’s father—currently in prison for a murder no one believes he committed, yet he remains tight-lipped about the case. This overarching mystery seems poised to thread through the entire series.

On top of that, federal agents from various government agencies make appearances, adding layers of complexity to the plot. I truly hope this series continues for many more books. The characters are well-developed, and the pacing feels natural and unhurried. I’m fully invested and already looking forward to what’s next.

I also just discovered there are two novellas—Into the Fire and Out of the Shadows—so those are now at the top of my TBR list.

Many thanks to Allison Brennan, Harlequin Trade Publishing/MIRA, and NetGalley for the ARC of this book. As always, I recommend reading the book yourself and forming your own opinion.

When 16 year old Elijah Martinez is found dead from an apparent overdose, the police quickly close the case. But his mother refuses to believe her son was just another statistic. Desperate for answers, she turns to Margo Angelhart and her brother Jack, a former cop, whose fledgling PI firm is already gaining a reputation for taking on cases no one else will touch. As Margo digs deeper into Elijah's life, she uncovers unsettling secrets hidden within his school and social circle.. bullying, drugs, and dangerous alliances that someone is determined to keep buried. But when witnesses start turning up dead and the investigation leads back to a powerful drug ring, Margo and Jack find themselves up against ruthless enemies who will do anything to silence the truth. The closer they get to exposing what really happened, the more personal and deadly the case becomes.

Allison Brennan is proving why she's a master of modern crime thrillers. Don't Say A Word takes a heartbreaking premise, the death of a teenager dismissed as an od, and spins it into a tightly wound mystery that keeps the tension razor sharp from start to finish. Margo is the kind of main character readers will root for, flawed but fiercely determined. The twists land hard, the stakes feel personal, and the pacing makes it nearly impossible to put down. More than just a crime story, it's a novel about loyalty, justice, and the courage it takes to speak the truth when everyone else wants it buried.

The tragic result of the death of young Elijah Martinez has a domino effect. The high school student’s death was ruled an accidental overdose, but his history proved otherwise. When Margo Angelhart takes on the case what she finds is utterly devastating as drugs and secrets that have affected local teens are facts coming to light.

Sadly, Elijah’s death is not the only murder connected to this case, and Margo is determined to find justice for him all while trying to stop the drug scene that has permeated his school. Margo’s determination to solve this case as quickly as possible matches her brother Jack’s concern.

As a grandparent, it is difficult to read stories as serious as this one - teens and drugs. Allison Brennan handles this serious story with care, as it is written in such a way that pulls the reader in right from the start. The Angelhart family always works hard when it comes to their cases, and Margo is no exception. Her care and concern for the teens involved keep her fully invested the deeper her investigation grows.

This is an exhausting case for Margo, and her care and concern for everyone involves shines through. She is a great part of the investigative family. This book follows You’ll Never Find Me, the first book in the series, as well as the novella, Out of the Shadows. Each book has its own story and thus can be read as standalones, but for the sake of continuity, it is recommended to read the series in order.

Many thanks to MIRA and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

This book had enough plot for a 30-page short story but was strung out to fill out a minimum word limit, presumably because the author had a contract to fulfill. And so we got a rather linear and unimaginative investigation, the first half of which involves a PI going around and talking to high-schoolers and being told that the student who OD'ed on fentanyl did not, in fact, use the drug when alive. Did you get that? Let me repeat: he did not. He just wouldn't! He was a good boy. He worked in a store. He studied hard. He would never... (okay okay I"ll stop. You get the idea).

What else do we get? Oh, we learn that our heroine PI had never had grilled zucchini before. And that her uncle makes something called "Mexican gumbo". And lots of other detail on what she ate that day and what she thought of it.

We get POV switches for no good reason. There's absolutely no payoff, nothing of value added. The author has no sense of style that would convey how different people's perspectives differ--let's just say she's no Wilkie Collins. Or, I dunno, P.G. Wodehouse.

And we get lots of talk about family. There's more family here than in the Fast and the Furious movies. Just a lot. Mom, brother, uncle. All as dull as each other.

I put the audiobook on 1.5 speed, then on 1.75 speed, and then on 2x speed. Finally, at double speed, it moved from glacial to reptilian pace. But I need to make sure to flag this author somehow so I don't accidentally try to read another book of hers.

This one has a fairly large cast of characters around Margo, the main investigator, and most work in private investigations or police/related jobs so it can be a bit hard to keep track of which one is which. While it is definitely readable as a standalone, you probably have an easier time keeping track of the characters if you have read the previous books.

I suspected the people involved as soon as they were introduced. Just on a hunch. But it was still a great read finding out how they connected and why things had to end as they did. I liked Margo as the investigator too. Independent, sharp, following her gut but knowing when to call in help.

It is just sad so many people had to die because a kid managed to see what so many cops did not, but didn't know who to trust with it all. The only thing I would have loved to see more from the book is the detective who closed Elijah's case so easily getting some real pushback instead of getting to make a high profile arrest.

While the teen angle can make it pull a little Young Adult, there was enough there between the relationships and actual investigation to keep it in the police procedural/mystery category.

I look forward to seeing where Cal and Margo end up in a future book. Thanks to MIRA Books and Netgalley for the advance copy for review.

I really enjoyed this second book of the Angelhart Investigations series by Allison Brennan. Don’t Say A Word centers around the mysterious death of Elijah Martinez, which the police have dismissed as an accidental drug overdose. However, the emotional weight of his grieving mother’s determination to seek the truth, and Elijah’s outspoken friend, Angie, gives this investigation an urgent and heartfelt touch. Margo Angelhart quickly becomes a compelling lead, as her initial confidence in solving the case spirals into a dangerous pursuit of a darker reality.

The pacing kept me immersed in the story, with each twist and turn expertly crafted to keep me on the edge of my seat. I really liked Angie, Cal, and Hitch. The dynamics between the family were interesting to read, and Margo is always a great character. I loved the brief interactions between her and Cal. I cannot wait to see more of this relationship develop.

Overall, Don’t Say a Word has a good storyline and plot with a sad subject and sad what happens to some of the characters. The story combines mystery and emotion. I am eagerly anticipating the next installment in the Angelhart Investigations series. I would recommend this book and series for anyone looking for a thought-provoking and heart-pounding crime thriller!

Solid Second Stage. The easiest way to describe this series, for those who haven't read the first book, is to imagine the TV show Blue Bloods... but instead the family is Hispanic and lives in Phoenix. If you're even vaguely familiar with that show (and to be clear, I've never watched a single episode of it, just seen several ads and a few clips over the years), that gives you a reasonably solid idea of what to expect in general with this series.

In this installment in particular, we get what appears at first glance to be just an accidental overdose... except, well, it comes to the Angelharts' attention and Margot in particular smells a rat.

Over the course of 400+ pages, Brennan never really lets the story drag at all. There is enough mystery and danger here to carry the tension, and enough familial interaction to give the tale depth, heart, and even a touch of humor at times.

This noted, the 21 Jump Street (both movie and, at least according to my understanding - the show came out when I was still a young kid - the show) parallels are so obvious here in this particular mystery that Brennan actively leans into them, openly having her characters talk about the show at a point or two.

Overall this really is a solid second outing for these characters, and it will be interesting to see what Brennan comes up with for them next.

Very much recommended.

Allison Brennan's ability to select fantastic main characters to guide her series is top notch. From Lucy Kincaid, to Quinn and Costa, to Regan Merritt to Max Revere, and now Angelheart Investigations, I'm hooked and will read every new addition to all her series. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to read the ARC of Don't Say a Word the second book in the Angelheart series with main character Margo leading the way.

Angelheart Investigations is asked to investigate the suspected suicide overdose of a young teen, His mother does not accept the cause of death that had the police close the case. The team and Margo feel it will be easy to solve. The whole Angelheart family, Mom and siblings, become involved as it turns out to be a much more difficult case particularly when they run into the solid wall of no help from the police. Some clues seem to link to an old drug ring in town but how can it connect is the question. Margo knows how to pull together the threads of a case and while often frustrating, it all comes together for a surprising conclusion. Excellent characters, family drama, suspense, and twists and turns makes this a must read. Thank you Harlequin Trade Publishing/MIRA and NetGalley for the ARC.

Margo Angelhart is still working out the kinks of working with her own family and keeping her same commitment to herself to work cases that speak to her. In this case, it is the supposed OD death of a young man who everyone says didn't do drugs. I really liked the mystery. It was nuanced and twisty, but very predictable. Sorry! I was down to 3 possibilities pretty early on and was right. Second, I am really liking the close knit family and all the ties throughout the legal/justice system. I love learning about the relationships and the possible new one for Margo. But, how do all these people have all this time to help Margo with her case? Especially one she isn't getting paid for. I recognize that they have other clients, but it seems like Margo does a great job of using everyone's time up. Anyway, it irked me for a bit and then I got over it. I don't care. This is fiction and they can do whatever they want with their time. I like the resulting solving of the cases and that's what I am here for!

Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin MIRA for a copy of the book. This review is my own opinion.

When Elijah Martinez dies from a drug overdose, his family insists he would never use drugs and hires Margo Angelhart to uncover how Elijah died. Margo is quickly convinced that Elijah did not take his own life but was in fact murdered. After having been on her own, Margo returns to the fold at the family’s Angelhart PI agency, run my her mother, and works alongside her siblings, each with their own set of skills. To say that Margo remained independent and hell-bent on doing things her way would perfectly reflect the facts. But, the family must pool all its resources to uncover a sinister cabal that has been lurking in the dark since the take down of a high school drug ring run by an imprisoned coach. Or was he the real kingpin? A fast moving and convoluted narrative with fantastic characters and unexpected twists. All staples of Allison Brennan’s storytelling. A must read.

When Margo Angelhart is hired to find out the truth about Elijah Martinez's death she thinks it will be an easy solve. But the more she digs into the boys past the more she learns that things are quite as they seem.
Maybe his death wasn't an accident after all...

Don't Say a Word is one of those books that grabs you instantly and refuses to let go until the last page finds you. Margo is one tough cookie and she refuses to leave no stone unturned. She will do whatever it takes to get her answers for the families she helps and she goes above and beyond for Elijah's family.

This was an action-packed page-turner that had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through! I loved my time with Margo and her family and I cannot wait to see where their story takes us next! Highly recommend.

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

omg don’t say a word was soooo good like i legit could not put it down. allison brennan really knows how to keep you guessing every time i thought i had it figured out BOOM something wild would happen and i’d be like welp… guess not 😂

the angelhart fam?? obsessed. 🫶 the sibling teasing cracked me up, but then they’d turn around and team up in the most badass way and i was like yesss give me more. it made the story feel so alive and i just loved their whole dynamic.

the mystery itself was heartbreaking 💔 but also super addictive. i felt EVERYTHING the mom’s desperation, angie being angry at literally the world & margo just refusing to quit no matter what! she’s tough, smart & seriously one of my fave female leads rn.

this book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time like mystery, action, family drama, even a little bit of heart it had it all. i’m honestly obsessed and i cannot wait to see what happens next ✨💖

*I received a free advance review copy of this book from the NetGalley.

The narrative weaves a murder mystery with its share of predictable beats, although none of these detracted from my enjoyment. I devoured this book in one sitting; it was a lifeline on a rough day when I desperately needed some escapism. It’s not without its flaws—clichés abound, and it often sticks to the safety of the familiar procedural formula. Honestly, I yearned for more risks, more unexpected twists. But then again, I have explored numerous stories, so discovering something that truly surprises me is increasingly rare.

Despite a little nitpicking, Don't Say a Word delivers an engaging murder mystery that diligently adheres to the genre without ever straying outside its lines. If you’re searching for something groundbreaking, you might leave feeling a bit let down. However, I believe that steadfast fans of Allison Brennan will not be disappointed—and perhaps, in the end, that's what truly matters.
