I grabbed this book with great expectations for learning about fibers and how yarns interact when paired, hence the two stars. Fibers, color theory, and yarn substitutions are thoroughly covered in other books, so nothing new for me here. The photos are beautiful though—very inspiring. I can see the intended market as geared toward those who want to step up their design game but are too confounded by choice to have a go themselves. Sort of a "try it, you'll like it" theme here.

There was some good information in here, but it certainly didn't answer my question about the particular yarns I was wanting to combine, nor any real tips on how to decide whether or not two (or more yarns) were actually 'combine-able.' So unless you want to use their suggestions (which wasn't what I needed help with)... what's the point?
