AN ENEMIES-TO-LOVERS URBAN FICTION STANDALONE FROM BESTSELLING AUTHOR, JADE JONES
Evelyn Fairchild ain’t your average Hollywood starlet. She’s got the fame, the money, and the looks, but she’s also got a mean streak as sharp as her stilettos. Quick to judge and even quicker to dismiss, Evelyn’s built walls around herself so high, nobody’s getting in. She feeds off the spotlight, loving the power that comes with being a star, but she’s blind to the ice in her own heart.
Then along comes Sav—short for Savage—a man who’s as dangerous as his name suggests. He owns several lucrative nightclubs while still being tied to the dangerous world of contract killing. Sav’s also not the type to be impressed by glitz and glam, but something about Evelyn catches his eye. He’s instantly drawn to her like a moth to a flame.
However, Evelyn’s used to men tripping over themselves to get her attention, so she brushes Sav off like he’s just another nobody. But Sav’s not one to back down easily. He’s the first man to stand up to her, challenging her in ways no one else dares. His street-smart swagger and unshakable attitude clash hard with her polished, high-maintenance world, and the chemistry between them is off the charts.
But as their worlds collide, will their differences tear them apart? Or will the heat between them spark something neither one saw coming, forcing them to face the darkness within each other—and themselves? In the end, Evelyn might just discover that loving a savage could be the key to melting the ice around her heart, and Sav might realize that even a savage needs someone to call home.
Jade Jones discovered her passion for creative writing in elementary school. Born in 1989, she began writing short stories and poetry as an outlet. Later on, as a teen, she led a troubled life which later resulted in her becoming a ward of the court. Jade fell in love with the art and used storytelling as a means of venting during her tumultuous times.
Aging out of the system two years later, she was thrust into the dismal world of homelessness. Desperate, and with limited income, Jade began dancing full time at the tender age of eighteen. It wasn't until Fall of 2008 when she finally caught her break after being accepted into Cleveland State University. There, Jade lived on campus and majored in Film and Television. Now, six years later, she flourishes from her childhood dream of becoming a bestselling author. Since then she has written the best-selling "Cameron" series.
Quite suitably, she uses her life's experiences to create captivating characters and story lines. Jade currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. With no children, she spends her leisure shopping and traveling. She says that seeing new faces, meeting new people, and experiencing diverse cultures fuels her creativity. The stories are generated in her heart, the craft is practiced in her mind, and she expresses her passion through ink.
I tried to make it but I couldn’t take any of the characters. Like none of them were likeable so I couldn’t even make it past chapter 5. While I’m sure something traumatic eventually takes place and takes our FMC Evelyn from snobby, rude and condescending to gracious I didn’t have the energy to sit through that. Like the main character was UNPLEASANT, Save was unbearable and annoying fighting himself and Evelyn cus she was a rich bird. Like at these big ages the rude upper class girl and the started from the bottom now I’m here man don’t hit especially when they both terrible people. Khloe is a high priced hooker and I just don’t have the stomach for that story line. Then Mirage is a trans man who was sleeping with Evelyn’s ex and I don’t mind a scandal but I don’t enjoy the backstabbing best friend trope AT ALL. Hopefully the author has something else in their catalog that I can enjoy but this wasn’t it for me.
This was a lot to digest. The FMC was so naïve and slow It didn’t make any sense. Sav was really out here trying to be Captain save a hoe. Evelyn was his down fall but he couldn’t not fall. Everyone attached to Evelyn meant her no good. Through the whole book I wondered where the hell her family was at. Her two best friends both sleeping with her ex while they were together and to find out he was bi and sleeping with her trans best friend was a lot. Nothing wrong with anyone’s sexuality by no means. I wish he would have just lived in his truth rather than pull everyone into his toxic world. This book had so much envy in it and it was sad. Literally crabs in a barrel and at the expense of friendship and lost love. I loved how everything thing turned around for Evelyn but wish she would have been about to receive the love on one person who was really in her corner. But having his baby is the next best thing.

Evelyn worked the hell outta my nerves for the first 70% of the book but when she and Sav finally got it together I was so happy for them. It is an honor to have someone love you so deep to risk their life to make sure that you’re safe. Ooooh I wanted so much better for Khloe. Mirage never would’ve gotten it right because she always had a dark and ungrateful heart. Block! Block! Block! All you had to do was live in your truth. How does everyone Hayes Ev so secretly when all she’s ever done was be herself? I just wish that Ev & Sav would’ve gotten to be together in the end.
Please just don’t. I have never been more disappointed in a story. This story had so much potential if only it would have be n toned back some. Too many moving parts the story line was all over the place. Too many unnecessary characters and too many deviations from the main story. This is probably her worst work. Truly disappointed. The story is very much over hyped and felt thrown together. Like bits and pieces from random characters work thrown into a book just to put one out.
If ever there was a character that greeted you as a narcissist and an airhead it was Evelyn. Her bubble of a world included friends who were loyal to a devious fault-Mirage and Khloe. Then there is Savage-the one who captured Evelyn’s heart without even trying. He balanced her, taught her to open her eyes and ultimately loved her. He erased all her fears and enemies swiftly and watched her grow into the person she should have always been.
I saw people raving about this book but I struggled to get through it! The main fmc Evelyn was so aggravating and had no redeeming qualities. Don’t even get me started on her 2 “best friends” they were just as bad. Would not recommend this book but to each their own.
It had everything steamy sex scenes, drama, twists and a little romance. Evelyn had me tired with her at first Savage also but as the story progressed you got to understand why they were they were and witness a little of their mental growth.
This was so real watch who u call a friend and love openly no matter who u r the world will still go on without u so be happy love urself and those who love u keep ur eyes on the prize I love this story
The title says it ALL! I was captivated the whole time, I did not put the book down. I want to apologize in advance because I was reading this book in church 🫢….. The Lord knew my heart 😂
OMG! This book was so toxic at its finest! Evelyn got beat up 80% of the book and was a mean girl at some point! Where was the character development with Sav and how did his entire organization get infiltrated like that??? Mannnnnn no! Write better.
This book was a good, messy read—like watching Love & Hip Hop in book form! The drama was nonstop, with characters you couldn’t stand and others who really pulled at your heartstrings. If you love some juicy twists and complex relationships, this one’s for you!
Savage was truly a savage that loved Evelyn that made it possible for Evelyn to make it to the top again. He loved her through her darkness, her attitude and arrogance. I just wish it could have been a happy ever after for him as well.
This book was so damn good!! Even though Evelyn had her head up her ass she didn’t deserve all the bullshit she went through. She didn’t need enemies with the type of friends she had! But I’m glad she came out on top!
I seen this while scrolling tiktok, looked it up on Amazon and read it in a few hrs. It was soooo good. Alot of unbelievable twists and turns. Cant wait to read more from this amazing author.
Evelyn got on my last nerve!!!!!!!!! But Savage definitely put her in her place. And when he did mannnnnnnn I enjoyed their story. I want part 2 ASAP!!!!!!!!!!
