She's a peasant who was raised from the dead. He's the necromancer who brought her back.
Evera never imagined she’d become an undead servant to Aulderfell’s feared Necromancer, Lord Devian. And she certainly didn’t expect to fall in love with him.
Their growing passion defies the laws of the star gods, but an even greater hurdle stands in the way of their desires.
Evera’s fading body.
Together with the dragons of Castle Ebony, they set off on a perilous quest to reach the Kingdom of the Dark Fae, where Devian plans to strike a bargain for Evera's life. But the cunning and powerful Fae may have other plans. Plans that are far more sinister.
The slow burn heats up in this second installment of the Born of Death and Magic romantasy series.
Obsessed as usual with this series! Don’t want to say much but we definitely got to see something so exciting in this book (that I wanted so bad)! Cannot wait for book 3!?
We left off the first book with an incredible cliffhanger and we start this next one off strong. I said in my review of the previous book that it had a hold on me that I wasn’t sure for my sanity- I was mistaken. This series. This series has such a hold on me I might as well also be bound to it (Leah, please).
The world-building has not at all disappointed, in fact we get to expand our horizons. From a long, treacherous journey, forward and backwards, we learn so much about the world and its inhabitants that I just can’t get enough. Her fantastic use of imagery is still top-notch.
Plot is a rollercoaster and only getting higher and higher. There’s a lot more at stake than what you’d think, which calls for more desperate times. It’s considerably paced faster than the previous, making it filled to the brim with intensity. It quickly hooks you in and never lets you go, taking you on the ride of your life.
We ended the first book with a revelation on Evera’s part. But she’s strong. She never gives up. Not even when face-to-face with her fears. We see her grow from the part of her that tended fields with Cinnamon and the journey is amazing. There’s one more book and I can’t wait for more of her growth, as a person and as a witchblood.
Oh Devian, you deserve the world and all the blessings the three gods should have given you. You should prepare your heart for all to be revealed in this wonderful book about our favorite Necromancer.
The romance definitely took a step up of spice and tension. If you thought the tension from the first book was hot, feast your eyes on this book’s tension level. With everything so close at hand, it’s hard to resist. But of course, hidden kisses filled with much longing and affection makes for one very steamy encounter. Or multiple steamy encounters :>
Every single one of the other characters was written amazingly. We’re reunited with many of our favorite characters, especially one with a horn that glows through the night. And we get to meet much more interesting people. Each one playing a role in this beautifully crafted story.
I can’t wait for the next! 2025 can’t come here soon enough ;^; I love everything about this series so far and we haven’t even finished it yet. It’s been such an amazing journey and I’m excited to be a part of it!
While on a quest to the Dark Fae, we learn so much more about the unknown magic that Evera possesses, the relationship between Lord Devian and Col while the four of them, the already budding relationship between Evera and Lord Devian continues to develop, we also continue to see the fun-loving side of Rog. Along the way the group meets new and interesting people/species that help them on their quest.
Lord Devian is every bit the possessive-touch-her-and-die-type and quite honestly so is Evera. Which does not bode well for their enemies.
It always amazes me how fantasy authors are able to come up with such vivid worlds --Leah Nightcrest's imagination to come up with such complex settings, characters, and details is amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and cannot wait for the next in the series.
*Enemies to lovers *Fight for life *Necromancy *Slow burn *Dragons *Duo Pov *Magic *Mages *Fae
World Building: Leah writes in a way that makes imagining the world easy.
We continue our story of Evera and Devian who are about to begin their journey to the Dark Fae realm in an attempt to convince the Dark Fae to help save Evera from crossing the Silver Bridge and once again be alive rather than Devian's undead slave. The journey is full of dangers and life-risking situations that keep you invested in the story.
I thoroughly enjoyed continuing the journey with Evera and Devian. I loved seeing them grow closer and more comfortable together. The tense anticipation of their journey kept me wanting to continue reading and provided a satisfying journey. The relationship between Evera and Devian does become spicer than the first book. There are a few scenes where certain acts are detailed.
Bound to the Necromancer - ARC Review @leahnightcrest
Evera and Devian are a couple you don't want to miss. Evera has been through it in life, only to be killed and brought back by the necromancer. This is one you will devour in a day, the characters and world building are second to none.
Slow Burn Enemies to lovers Dark Fae Spicy Romantasy

CAN THEIR LOVE PROVE STRONG ENOUGH TO OVERCOME DEATH ITSELF?
Bound to the Necromancer by Leah Nightcrest is the second installment following Slave of the Necromancer. Again it must be emphasized that this book does deal with death and some darker sub plots so keep your mental health in mind when you read. In this story we see Evera navigating her life as the living undead. Say that ten times fast! Lord Devian is struggling to rework how he treats her carefully to make sure she still feels free. This leads them to the ultimate plot point for the book; going to the fae lands to extend her life. Will it work? Will the sneaky fae listen and behave or will they trick them into a cursed existence? Leah has built a crazy cool fantasy world and her versions of fae, dragons and magic are truly captivating. This book adds a bit more spice than the last as we continue to follow the slow burn relationship unfolding. I am eager to read book three!!
Dragons, Fae, Undead servants, great world building, political warfare and amazing witches and warlocks! The tension between the two main characters was executed so well!! The Dark Fae kingdom was so intricate and beautiful and left you begging for more from their world. Evera is such a strong FMC with such a massive heart. Her love towards all animals is honestly just breathtaking. She never gives up and it pays off in this book. This is the second book in the series and the authors debut series and it’s brilliant! Lord Devian is just so perfect. The way he protects and loves Evera is beautiful. There are twists and turns and you won’t be disappointed!
*ARC review* I absolutely devoured this book after finishing the first installment of the series. Leah Nightcrest manages to deliver a spellbinding continuation of the story. Tension reaches an ultimate high and there is a ton of payoff in this book.
This read includes all of my favorites: magic, creative world building, enemies to lovers, dragons, strong female lead, and slow burn romance.
If you’re considering it, this is your sign to grab a copy! This cleverly crafted read will capture your attention. It also has an entirely unique world that handles some aspects of fantasy with a fresh perspective.
This well written, dark, fantasy romance continues as we rejoin Evera and Devian on their incredible journey. The world building is incredible, the storyline is exciting, thrilling and full of trepidation and our characters grow so much and their relationship is wonderful to see. It’s brimming with danger, drama, it’s intense and it’s a little spicy, but the author wields their magic and has us hooked from page one in this epic read and I am eager for book three!
Holy sh!t this book is amazing! The first one left me wanting more and this one sure as heck didn't disappoint. I'm not a fantasy reader normally but Leah has a way of making me a fantasy lover. The angst in this book is everything, the friendships, and found family is soo good! I feel like this is a mix between of blood and ash and a Court of thorns and roses. But in opinion so much better 😘🥰
Dragons, more dragons, an army of the undead, dark fae, witches, a sexy necromancer and all the slow burn!! This book was an epic second edition to the saga, and I was enthralled from page 1 to the end! I love the set up for book 3, and some of the reveals were 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼 *chefs kiss*. I loved this one almost as much, if not more as the first book and cannot wait for book 3!!
Bound to the Necromancer sends us tumbling back into the story of Evera & Devian with dragons and magic deep inside the world of the fae. This dual pov takes you deep inside the minds of our beloved characters. This is an intense wild ride with some spicy flair. Perfect follow up to Slave of the Necromancer!
Yes yes yes. This is a great second and super set up for a third in a series. Loved the adventure and super slow burn of our main characters. Could put this one down. Loved all the reveals leading to the next one. Cannot I repeat cannot wait For number three
Where to begin, first of all I need more! Second of all this book is beautifully written!! I totally finished it in one day and I wish I didn’t cause now I have to wait 😭. But the gasps I was gasping during this book! Like I was not expecting anything that happened! But I was so glad to see Cinnamon the draft unicorn. Yes weird but I was hopping she would make an appearance again!! Ugh this book is totally gonna be living rent free in my head! Definitely going on my top 24 reads of 2024! And don’t get me started on the pet names! They made me melt in all the right ways!!!
