Vyctor: The Tale of Vyctor Frahnknshtyne

Vyctor Frahnknshtyne, the most brilliant student at L’institute Technologie, is secretly creating inventions that are breaking the laws set by the immortal shepherds in the city/state of Travaille. The shepherds, stewards of Travaille’s government, are kept alive by contributions of aether, human life force, from its citizens.
The Shepherds are losing control and trouble is rising. Mechanical attack hounds are savaging citizens, there are reports of a terrible monster taking young women in the night, Aether giants are battling for sport, and illegal aether experiments that are creating monstrous demi-gods are under way.
Vyctor, with the help of his heart’s greatest love, Cordelia, granddaughter of a shepherd, learns that the wealthy city fathers have a plot to overthrow the Shepherds through controlling their aether supply. Vyctor reaches out to his closest, student friends to form a secret organization called the Gentlemor Scoundrels. With their combined talents at invention, they must unlock the secrets of what is happening and who is behind the terrible events throughout Travaille.
Vyctor’s greatest invention, an immortal metal man meant for the shepherds, shows itself to be a weapon of frightening strength. Will its inhabitant still be human or something else, and can the small band of brilliant minds overcome multiple dark forces and prevent the enslavement of Travaille?

Once in a great while, a talented author presents a literary masterpiece with such a vivid blend of storytelling and artistry that it stands out among its peers. Kevin Mowrer’s monumental new steampunk novel, Vyctor, introduces a vivid cast of characters, each so intricately developed that they linger in your thoughts long after you've put the book down. From the very first chapter, Mowrer’s words paint an incredible picture for your mind that is full of suspense, greed, and unusual characters wrapped in the fantasy world of Steam Punk. As you read this unique take on a classic inspired story, your brain imagines the cinematographic setting with detail on every page. This story is chock full of intricate metal and steam details, married to the quest to overcome a corrupt society.

This book kept me on my seat's edge. A very imaginative take on Victor Frankenstein, this steampunk world is beyond your wildest dreams. The story depicts the struggles of a young diverse group of friends against the totalitarian rule of some dubious elders. A book for all ages!
