“What’s the best way to k!ll someone?”
“Rain Mills. My new obsession.”

I didn’t think it was possible for me to love Elijah Sinclair more than I did after reading Haunted by the Devil, but I was wrong. This book made me love him even more!

I loved seeing glimpses of him as a child and teen, and learning more about him as a character. And five-year-old Elijah with his bat was absolutely adorable 🖤

Please check the trigger warning before reading!

I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Receiving ARC didn’t affect my opinion of the book.

Ever wonder what makes a guy like Elijah Sinclair tick?

He's a real psycho, living it up in that messed up world of fancy parties and shady deals. The kind of place where a dude with some serious demons just lets loose. His life was pretty dull until someone whispered a certain name in his ear. That's when things got interesting.

So, this book dives into why the guy is the way he is. It's a quick read that follows him as a kid and takes us right up to when he finds out the name of the girl who's gonna flip his world upside down.

You don't have to read "Haunted By the Devil" first, but it's cool to finally get all that backstory we've been dying to know. Kinsley's got a way with words, and this short story totally delivers.

Sinner by Kinsley Kincaid is a dark horror. This is the second book in The Devil’s Society series. This is Elijah’s prequel novella before he meets Rain.

I love Kinsley’s books and can’t help but binge them in one sitting. I really enjoyed getting the back story of Elijah and finding out what makes him tick.

I can’t wait for the next book in the series Homecoming to be released on September 13, 2024.

I would recommend this series if you’re looking for a dark romance, forbidden romance, or a horror romance.

The Dark & Twisted Inner Workings of a True Psychopath. Buckle up it's an insanely addictive read!!

Have you ever wondered what Elijah Sinclair was like before Rain Mills became his obsession?! I know I have and this novella sets the stage for who he is and why. Read responsibly and check the TW if needed.

Well, look no further because Kinsley Kincaid opens up his depraved & devious mind from a young age to the present day and it's one sinfully wicked ride to behold.

This is a quick but detailed read that gives a lot of insight into the man we met from Haunted by the Devil (The Devil’s Society book 1). It's fascinating to see how at a young age he knows he has a darkness lurking to be unleashed. He's given ample opportunity to perfect his skills and the world will never be the same as he begins his journey with The Chapel in Blackwood, NC. He's a complicated character because at times he's very much a socio/psychopath in behavior but once he's gifted the name of Rain Mills, he becomes obsessed and protective of her which are two emotions he's never experienced. He's ready to claim his little bat now.

So if you're ready to experience the inner workings of Elijah’s mind and his journey into sin, then make sure you grab this novella and be prepared for the darkness to be unleashed finally. Expect gory moments, suspense, unhinged behavior, and a whirlwind of madness that keeps you glued till the very end.

Overall: 5/☆☆☆☆☆

This is one of those stories I didn’t know I needed until I read it. I loved getting a glimpse into who Elijah was as he grew up and seeing what shaped him into the red flag psychopath I enjoyed so much. I know he’d h@te to hear me say it but he does have some adorable moments in his youth. And I don’t mean the traditional “aww, how cute adorable”, it’s Elijah I'm talking about. They are extremely twisted moments but adorable for him.

This is a quick, v!olent read with gore - be sure to check content and trigger warnings. It’s a lot of the dark, disturbing, self centered, stubborn, “st@bby” side of Elijah I’ve come to know and love. If you’re looking for an Elijah fix while waiting for Homecoming to be released this will definitely help with that.

I knew from reading Haunted By The Devil that Elijah was a psychopath with a dark past. I got the feeling it was an interesting and unique one. This read confirms those things, as well as that there is so much more to come.

“𝓘 𝔀𝓪𝓼 𝓫𝓸𝓻𝓷 𝓵𝓲𝓴𝓮 𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓼.”

This book is not to be taken lightly, it’s labelled as a dark horror and lives up to that label. The content, both on and off page, will NOT be suitable for everyone. It covers topics that are DARK and may be triggering. You MUST proceed with caution.

Oh this was a deliciously depraved little treat! I thoroughly enjoyed delving into the dark recesses of our favourite psychopaths mind. It was a pitch black ride and I loved every second.

To say this is only 50 pages, Kinsley’s writing style is phenomenal. It certainly packs a punch for a small number of pages!

This gave me the insight I have been craving since reading Haunted By The Devil. Watching Elijah grow was captivating. You could imagine the cogs turning in his head as his little mind was dealing with all these bold feelings. He was the cutest 5 year old with his trusty wooden bat. I ADORED the supportive family element too, the actions of his father were 🙌🏼

This prequel was everything. I didn’t think I could fall anymore in love with Elijah but I stand corrected. Kinsley has made me fall even harder for this obsessive psycho. The glimpses into his younger life are spectacular and give you that little bit more understanding of his character.

LOVED IT!!

🌶️ 🌶️

Elijah Sinclair was born a true psychopath, he lives in a world where his violent and deranged thoughts are welcomed and used. From a young age Elijah is taught to lean into his psychopathic urges. He was content with inflicting pain and the enjoyment he received, but then Elijah is given one name that changes everything Rain Mills. Now his life can begin!

Sinner is Elijah's book from before he meets Rain, this novella shows Elijah through his childhood up to the day he gets Rain's name, it gives you so much backstory and insight into who Elijah is and why he is the way he is. If you have read Haunted by the devil then you already love Elijah and need to read this!

This book is about 50 pages and a very quick read but it is still one hell of a read!

Kinsley has a way of writing which immerses you and leaves you gagging for more. I can never fault Kinsley's writing and I am so hyped for more Elijah!!!

Thank you to Kinsley Kincaid for sending me the ARC of this book to read, even though this is an ARC the review is 100% my true feelings!!

Elijah Sinclair before Rain and before the adult I already came to read about and love. This short and quick read about Elijah as a child and teenager was so good and really adds in that depth about his character and why he is who he is in the other Devils Society books. I loved getting that glimpse into his early years and somehow knowing he had someone, his father Nathaniel, in his corner regardless of knowing what his son was capable of just made me happy Elijah had him.

And let’s not even forget cute little 5 year old Elijah with his little bat 🖤
Although it is a short read it gives soo much in those pages!

Elijah Sinclair is a true born psychopath, born into a world where violent and not so sane thoughts are welcomed. This novella takes place before Elijah meets Rain, and shows us Elijah going through childhood from the age of 5 up until he gets Rain's name.

This novella is only 50 pages long, so it's a pretty quick but detailed introduction for Elijah and who he is and why he is the way he is.

Elijah Sinclair

Oh my, some of us are just born different and Elijah is as different as they come. His intelligence is through the roof but his mind just works differently. This short Novela is detailed and graphic, but gives you an independent look into Elijah's childhood and how his mind works.

Now that I’ve gone back and read this, everything finally clicks. Kincaid lays out the backstory with clarity here—their families blending, the tension of being forced into proximity, and how that complicated bond shapes their choices. Without this book, the rest of the series felt disjointed, like I was missing crucial context. Now I can go back to book 3 that I thought was book 2. Ha.

A Dark, Twisted Dive into the Mind of a Psychopath!

Wow. That’s the only way to describe Sinner, Kinsley Kincaid’s dark and mesmerising novella that gives readers a front row seat to the mind of Elijah Sinclair, a true born psychopath who thrives in the shadows of high society. If you’ve ever wondered what makes a villain tick, Sinner takes you deep into the twisted psyche of one of the most chilling characters you’ll ever meet.

Elijah Sinclair isn’t your run-of-the-mill anti-hero. No, he’s a demon in every sense of the word. Living in a world of corruption, indulgence, and darkness, his life is a ticking time bomb that doesn’t truly explode until one name, Rain Mills, is uttered. This novella gives us a disturbing yet fascinating peek into what drives Elijah, and trust me, it’s a dark rabbit hole that’s impossible to pull away from.

What makes Sinner so captivating is Kincaid’s ability to make Elijah’s sinister mind not just intriguing but also—dare I say—compelling. His unapologetic embrace of his darkest desires is both horrifying and strangely hypnotic. You know he’s a psychopath, but getting inside his head is like watching a train wreck, you can’t look away. And for readers who love villains with depth and complexity, Elijah delivers in spades.

While this novella is a standalone, I have to say it’s the perfect appetiser for Kincaid’s Haunted by the Devil. I read Sinner before diving into the main novel, and the insight into Elijah’s motivations made Haunted by the Devil even more intense. Knowing what lurks behind his cold, calculating exterior only heightens the tension as his story unfolds.

Kinsley Kincaid does an excellent job keeping the pace tight and the atmosphere dark and dangerous. The writing style is sharp, and every page pulses with an undercurrent of menace.

If you’re looking for a quick yet unforgettable plunge into the mind of a villain who’s both terrifying and intriguing, Sinner is a must read!

🕯️Miss ma’am. I can’t believe you, but also thank youuuu. You heard our cries for a sneak peek into the brain of our favorite little psycho. Elijah can do no wrong, yeah yeah he’s a psycho, but he has a soft side.

🖤Getting to see his evolution is simply 🤌🏽🤌🏽. I love is blatant disregard for everyone. Like simply speaking to him is a privilege and you aren’t worthy. I love E and his relationship with his bat, it’s always been there, why do I feel like it needs a name. Ya know?

🕯️This prequel has it all, giving me an inside scoop to how Elijah came to be. If you love a quick read that gives you a cult, gore, blood sa€rifice, banter and descriptive тσятυяє…then look no further. These are all the makings of a phenomenal read and Kinsley did the d@mn thing. That being said this book is VERY DARK please please check your trigger and content warnings because there are a ton. This was Amazing!!

Sinner is a short Dark Horror Prequel.
The story is about Elijah, and it shows a little peak in to - Who Elijah is !!

"Captivated"
"She is mine"

Just when I thought I couldn't love Elijah more ...!
Little five year old Elijah proves me wrong!

"What's the best way to kill someone?"

I laughed so hard 🤣 . I kind of wanted to know myself in that moment!!

I think hidden bodies is a skill that might come handy 😅 in our day and age 😜!!

I love the fact that Elijah Father didn't try to hide his son Darkness he embraced it .
He took the time to understand why Elijah wanted to know how to kill someone. He acted as a parent in that regards . I thought that was a priceless moment in little Elijah live!!

This was a Amazing read!! I FREAKING LOVE IT!!

Sinner takes you on a chilling journey into the origins of Elijah, a character whose darkness seems to have been ingrained from birth. This prequel is aptly titled, as it gives us a deep dive into the making of a true Sinner. From an early age, Elijah displays unsettling tendencies, and by the age of five, he is already showing signs of a budding psychopath. When he responds with stark honesty to his father, rather than chastising him, his father reassures Elijah that there is nothing wrong with him. This pivotal moment sets the stage for a lifetime of violence and terror.

The story unfolds through a series of Elijah's increasingly brutal acts, detailing the ages at which he commits unaliving and the thrill he derives from them. The story doesn’t shy away from the extreme violence and gore that define Elijah’s character. The book plunges you into the mind of a psychopath with a chilling portrayal of a father who not only accepts but also nurtures his son's darkness.

This dark horror short story is not for the faint of heart. It is a raw exploration of a psychopath's psyche, marked by its extreme violence and disturbing themes. "Sinner" is a compelling read for those who enjoy dark horror and psychological thrillers with a focus on extreme characters. It’s a short but intense experience that leaves a lingering sense of unease long after the final page is turned.

BWBH Review:

The urge to kïll was strong at age 5. Elijah Sinclair called out to his demons. And the Devil answered.

I was so excited to dive into another story with Elijah Sinclair. He is completely deranged and we find out that he’s always been this way. Starting at five years old, Elijah knew he wanted to kïll. He was so confident when he told his father, and his father nurtured his thirst for blo0d - training him to become a weapon.

We get to touch base with Elijah when he’s five, ten, sixteen, and twenty - and every time he is as bloǒdthirsty as ever.

Sinner was just as disturbing as Hunted by the Devil and equally enjoyable. I loved finding out my unhinged MMC’s baseball bat has been with him since he was five. So sentimental!

Sinner is perfect for readers who enjoy a super dark story about the childhood of a serial unaliver, an MMC who craves violence and blood, and an emotional support baseball bat.

Thank you to Kinsley Kincaid for the ARC.
