"A Shadow on the Snow" by Dorothy Bodoin is an intriguing mystery with an intricate plot and realistic characters. But what stood out the most for me was the author's description of setting. As I read, I felt as if I were in an isolated cabin in Michigan in the midst of a blizzard - and there was a killer on the loose. I highly recommend this book!
I read this when i was in 7th grade. And i can still imagine and smell the scenes. The description of the characters and places are nicely done. The story is a bit predictable (there's a lot of suspicious people and if you're used to mystery/crime media... you might deduce who the real ___ is) And the pace seemed a bit slow at first but it really builds up so that the climax to ending is still enjoyable . Oh i didnt expect the backstory though. I remember reading this in one seating. Very enjoyable, very quick read.
