Mortally Wounded

Stephanie was an Army Captain and a Doctor serving overseas. She was a raising star and on her way to the top. Sophie was an Army Lieutenant and her secret lover. When Sophie confessed her betrayal and marriage it ended. Leaving the Army for a horse ranch in Texas, Stephanie built a new life rehabilitating horses with the assistance of Melody. The she met Ashlyn, an extraordinary horse trainer, who had her secrets. Two women with brutal pasts attempting to rehab a beautiful horse and two wounded souls. Great story and series.

Sweet, tense, very hearted and passionate, this needs to be read.

Margaux Fox has continued her series of infinite tenderness reads with a delightful look at the world of horse racing and training, mixed with military war hero issues. What an unlikely mix, yet it works brilliantly. We have a wounded horse trainer looking for a new start with a veteran surgeon in deep depression trying to pull herself up to breath with a talented green and stubborn willful horse on a struggling ranch! What a wonderful cast of characters!

My heart was galloping.

This book held so much tenderness of the human hearts learning lessons of honesty and love. But it was the understanding of the horse, his heart to please his rider that I just wanted to get in the saddle and gallop off in the sunset.

Stephanie and Asylum had many things in common, which made the book interesting. The horse race was well narrated. Recommended.

I love most of her books but this one needed a better ending. Just my opinion and I still give it a 5 star.
