Christmas wishes come to good little girls and boys…but what if they’re not always so good? Or so little?
Savannah wants the sweet life—glamour, parties, her name in lights. This young actress is on the path to fame and glory, and no hunky but poor Italian (no matter how gorgeous) is going to get in her way. Even if he can cook.
Rafi loves America, but his student visa will run out when he graduates from college. If he’s going to stay and pursue his dreams of dancing in the New York City Ballet, he’s going to need an American wife so he can marry into a citizenship. Too bad stunning actress Savannah is Canadian.
This is the second in THE CHRISTMAS PAGEANT series. The first book told the story of “Dasher” and “Dancer.” Savannah and Rafi get the star treatment in this second book as “Prancer” and “Vixen.” (Do you sense a theme?!) Once again the plucky kids from Frost University must put on a Christmas pageant as their path to better things…or are the better things already right in front of them?! A sexy, funny Christmas tale to brighten a winter evening!
Pru Warren (who is writing this in the third person as if simply too modest to toot her own horn) bores easily and thus has been a daydreamer since roughly the Bronze Age.
She is addicted to writing romcoms because in a novel, you can make things come out the right way. Life and karma really ought to take note. There are better solutions to these pesky daily annoyances!
Besides her in-the-laptop god complex, Pru laughs often and easily, loathes cooking, and plays way too much solitaire. She’s plotting world domination even as you read this, as long as she doesn’t have to wake up too early to accomplish it.
Christmas, resisting attraction, love vs career, found family, and hot spice!
The gang is back at it again for the second year. This year, they are putting on a different Christmas pageant for a new group of families. Our favorite characters are back. Through the story of Christmas and giving to others, we have the love story of undeniable attraction, but on paper, the couple is all wrong for each other when looking towards the future. How will they have a future together if what they want most in the world for their careers seems to be going in different directions? I love how we get to know the heart of the characters and get invested in the story. It makes the spice all that much better. And makes the HEA so much more satisfying.
This is the second book in the series, but it can be read as a complete stand-alone. However, I think you will get more out of it as you have met the main and secondary characters. Also, the whole premise of the pageant was in the first book; this is just the next year.
Looking for a quick, fun, and escape-worthy happily-ever-after Christmas story? Then Return of the Christmas Pageant is for you. A little bit of "Green Card," a little bit of "The Proposal," and a lot of silly fun, Pru Warren's latest rom-com will have you smiling and wishing you could visit the "Mountain View" resort, where students and professionals band together to put on holiday entertainment for needy children and their families. Bringing delight to the kids is the primary goal, but Italian dancer Rafi is desperately hoping to find an American miss with whom he can cement a legal tie to the U.S., and Canadian Savannah is pining for recognition of her acting skills and a path towards fame. Cupid's arrows, however, are indifferent to immigration restrictions, and Christmas magic trumps all. Put aside your shopping list, pour yourself some hot cocoa, and settle in for a few hours of holiday fun.
What a complete joy! This book is infused with good feelings, charming, funny characters and delicious food! The crew is back to bring another theatrical delight to families who are in less fortunate situations in a fairytale setting. The spotlight is on Rafi and Savannah, both looking for very different things in their upcoming life, but inextricably drawn to each other. They are wonderful creations and I am definitely in live with Rafi..for his cooking of course 😍. Written with her characteristic rich prose and delightful wit, Pru Warren always succeeds in bringing a gorgeous warmth to her books which I find captivating. This is definitely a Christmas present that you you need to unwrap and enjoy now! 💖💖💖💖💖
The Frost College performing arts students are asked back to put on another Christmas show at a luxurious country home, owned by famous performers. The audience and participants are from disadvantaged families.
The students did a similar performance the previous year and for some, they are graduating and looking for their yearned for jobs.
One of the students, a dancer, is from Italy and he wants to marry an American so that he can stay in America. He's infatuated with a lovely actress, but she's Canadian. And she wants a sugar daddy. Yet, they lust for each other and have decided to enjoy each other while they can.
This is a telling of the Gift of the Magi, both on the stage, and in the book. This book is a lovely holiday story, but it's for mature audiences.
The Frost students are back to Mountain House for another Christmas pageant. This year the story focuses on Savannah and Rafi. Classmates with separate dreams somehow come together to find their dreams involved each other. This year's pageant was about looking at intangible gifts to celebrate the holiday season. All of the Frost students received gifts to help them in the future as well as knowing they helped all of the families enjoy the holiday. Such a good read.
The relationship between Rafi and Savannah is lovely - what a steamy academy romance should be. I will admit that I found it hard to relate to Rafi but Savannah might as well be my sister. That romance, together with a couple of creative performances, makes this Christmas story shine!
I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
