Miguel ha ganado en dos ocasiones el premio nacional de cine La Silla a la excelencia cinematográfica en guion, así como numerosos concursos de narrativa. Sus relatos han sido recogidos en antologías latinoamericanas, y presentados en muestras, festivales y ferias del libro internacionales.
