A definitive history of bomb disposal, this book is at its best when the author, himself a decorated explosives expert, brings the actions of these brave men vividly to life with accounts of their incredible bravery and sang-froid as they deal with bombs and mines from the Great War onwards. Some remarkable stories, and good that due tribute is also paid to the unrecorded enlisted men who took the same risks while doing the digging, transporting, etc.
Sub-title is "Bomb disposal from world war I to the Falklands." The section on disposal in London during World War Two is simply amazing. Not only fascinating for the history which you have never read elsewhere, but a description of absolutely extraordinary bravery. These people are/were simply astounding.
